Red Rose Country

“That’s what Albertans asked for.”

Alberta’s current policy, which puts a $15-per-tonne levy on heavy carbon emitters, was to have expired last December, but the deadline was extended six months by the former PC government. At one point the Alison Redford regime considered doubling the carbon levy, but successor Jim Prentice appeared to back away from the idea.
Environmentalists said doubling the levy would be a start, but it needs to be increased dramatically to change behaviour, and more stringent emission reduction targets are also required.
Phillips wouldn’t say if her government will increase the carbon levy.
“We’re looking at our options right now,” she said.

  1. I’ve just reread your comments, paying attention to tone, language, imagery and artful evasions. If you are a real person named what you claim I would be very surprised. I would guess that both you and your equally foul friend “Paul” are compensated agents of influence for someone. It seems unbelievable to me that anyone could honestly hold the hate you project in such foul terms and be a functioning member of the society I live and work in (which is Canada). I have many friends and colleagues who are Zionists, both Christian and Jewish. We share spirited discussions about solutions to the problems plaguing the ME in general and Israel in particular. We don’t hate each other for holding different views. We recognize that there are we reasons for us to disagree and valid points for many positions. All would actively shun anyone who expresses themselves as you do. I guess no one ever taught you the basis of debate; “you don’t have to be disagreeable just because you disagree”. I am actually very concerned for the safety of Israel and fully support both its existence and future as a “beacon of what can be” in the ME. I do not support its presence from the Tigris to the Nile as the Clean Break document calls for. That is political disagreement, not existential. Unless your grandfather was a fascist he surely understood that notion when he suggested you look into politics. As for your personal attacks; I have three great kids, a beautiful wife, a modest home with a small mortgage and a thriving new business. If you are interested in reflection (which I doubt) you might want to look up “projection” +”Freud” on google…it might give you pause to think.
