Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Oh well I excommunicated myself long ago. I still feel bad for those who felt hope with the Polish guy.
And the current pope is a warmist.
It looks as though the College of Cardinals made the same mistake the US elite did.
This Pope is doing for the Catholic Church what Barry has been doing for the USA.
This is the problem with top-down centrally planned organizations. A couple guys at the top can f- the whole works for everybody.
Not the first time either. I seem to remember some guy named Martin Luther having “issues” with this setup in Rome as well.
I really do love pissing money away supporting this increasingly left leaning RC church. F me.
……second look at scientology?
Although not a catholic, I profoundly respected Pope John Paul II for his anti-communist stance and his courage. This one is worse than the Borgias.
I feel bad for all Catholics like many Protestant churches they are misleading the people. They are trying to make God more pleasing to man rather than trying to make man more pleasing to God.
This is why Martin Luther left the Roman Catholic Church , it’s absolute Bs idolatry. The law and the gospel from cover to cover nothing fancy needed. The work has been done. Don’t need smoke signals, and pope mobiles, don’t need to show how tolerant we are by marrying gays in our churches and letting Muslims preach from our pulpits.
But as so clearly stated in scripture this has all be stated clearly, now it is manifesting itself it’s a tale of 2 worlds. Darkness and light. You are either in his light or in the darkness. It really is that simple he doesn’t care so much about what you do nothing you can do can save yourself, if you are offended by this I am sorry but this is how truth works. You will either go up or down. There is no negotiating with God or his word. You can marry gays and bless the marriage but it’s simply blaspheming that marriage is not sanctified by God so go ahead get married, get divorced, think you are a good person by comparing yourself to other people , but see how good of a person you are when you compare yourself to scripture. But have no fear, there is a way out……should you here the call.
a rhetorical question?
As the Didache puts it, “there is the way of life, and there is the way of death.”
Myself, I never got the idea of a “middle man” for the Confessional. The way I see it, if I TRULY repented, God would see how contrite I was and I would be forgiven. What is more, I would KNOW that I was forgiven.
The Pope is just another middleman (albeit of the highest order literally) and the idea of Papal infallibility is ludicrous. Yes, I am a terrible Catholic.
Harkov: Re:The Pope is infallible.
The way my Catholic ancestors taught me, the pope is only infallible in a sense that, prior to making a decision that deals with Catholicism, he asks God for enlightenment. Thus his decision is considered as having been inspired by the Holy Spirit.
I no longer adhere to catholic teachings, however if I’m up against the wall and I can’t make a concrete decision about something, (and I can’t find the answer on Wikipedia,) I can ask The Higher Power to guide me in making my decision. This way, that more or less exonerates me from making the wrong decision. As long as I believe the (inspired) answer to be right.
Keeping in mind of course that a butterfly hovering over a flower in New Zealand can eventually (somehow) set off a tornado in Kansas, I may not live long enough to see the end result of that decision.
Theoretically however, it should be the right decision.
THE MANCHURIAN POPE
I am neither catholic nor Christian but I sorta liked the German Shepherd (Benedict).
This Jesuit from South America is an enemy of mankind ….an agent of darkness…a serpent.
Spurwing, you and sasquatch nail it. During the Soviet years in Russia the Russian Orthodox Church also had its “Renovated” Church that worked with Stalin and the true believers had to go underground or suffer. This leftist Manchurian candidate is doing a “renovation”.
Nothing as screwed up as a fallen-away Catholic. I trust Harkov is a Bible thumper, but has he read it? “Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven”. Sounds to me like Christ was setting up a priesthood of sorts. Before we totally forsake Francis, we should maybe realize that God moves in strange ways, his wonders to perform. The Spirit truly breathes where it will – I, myself am an Oblate taught boy, and though Jesuits were great in the Counter Reformation, I am not too impressed by them of late, either. Sometimes it is important that we listen to the wee small voice of God, amidst the noise and confusion of the world!
“They are trying to make God more pleasing to man rather than trying to make man more pleasing to God.”
Right bang ON.
Excellent posting, Paul in Calgary.
Papal infallibility only applies to solemn, official teachings on faith and morals, not to disciplinary decisions or even to unofficial comments on faith and morals. If the Pope is only talking to a journalist, or making dinner conversation, or even speaking at a synod, and and he says something novel, it is only his fallible opinion. His political opinion – just like his opinion on food, clothing, cats, dogs and soccer games – is relevant only to those interested in hearing it. Infallibility is a little easier to make sense of when one thinks of Christ’s words at the end of the gospel of St. Matthew, when he says to the Apostles “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world”. This has been understood since the beginning to imply his protection of his Church – preserving it from doctrinal error – through the one upon whom the Church was built, and who has been granted the power of binding and loosing.
Short answer; Nope.
But the Pope works for the Prince of Peace whom he will answer to; so it is consistent to make an attempt at peace, even when the parties thereto are less than ideal.
Cheers

I think he’s on the “faith” clean up team for the UN – the UN has it’s own religion for Progs and sundry new age warriors and the Pope does a tag team act with Gaia to keep the poor 3rd world schlubs in line with the global governing agenda who don’t send penance to Mo Strong’s globalist Gaia church yet – Pope Green will help convert the flock and soon we will have the one world religion the UN malthusians need to control us from a spiritual level.

“……second look at scientology?”
I’ve been thinking about finding a good cult to join as well, especially as I’m getting bored allot lately.
I’ve looked into Rastafarian and the Hari Krishna but I hate hippies and don’t do drugs.
Scientology reportedly beat their women, so obviously Islam’s out. Mormon’s would be ok with all that End of the World survival prepping I’m just not keen on the “magic” stuff.
So to make a long story short, the easiest way out, one could join the cult of Atheism!
The best part about going that route is that you can change back anytime anywhere regardless of what time of day or where you happen to be. It’s a cult of convenience to be sure!
From my vantage point I certainly see a lot more evidence of the Pope being a communist than I see of the Pope being a Christian.
I don’t wish to offend Catholics, but there are so many examples in scripture that would lead one away from the catholic church than to it. And i like Martin Luther had questions, questions that the church could not answer. I think if people want to get a glimpse into the catholic church they should watch the movie Luther Even atheists would appreciate it.
The catholic church still focuses on you and your actions getting you into heaven and that is plain wrong. You can do nothing good or bad to get you in or out of heaven it is a gift freely given, there waiting for you should you be so lucky to have the holy spirit enter your life and lead you to Jesus. “I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me” “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that who so ever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”
My point is You don’t need popes and pageantry, “where there are 2 or 3 gathered in my name there am i with them” you don’t need a church as in bricks n mortar but it is good to gather with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
I find the only churches that are doing well are the ones that are preaching the true gospel. and make no mistake those Christians that are not being spiritually fed with the truth of their condemnation and salvation (law and gospel). If all you get is that Jesus loves you and he loves gays, and everything is ok and just keep living in sin because “Jesus has got this” you are in serious trouble “romans 6:1 what shall we say then? shall we go on sinning that our grace may increase? BY NO MEANS!!! We died to sin how can we live in it any longer?
The law and the Gospel folks if you are an unrepentant christian if you think the more you love Jesus the better the person you are but continue to lie cheat steal think impure thoughts marry gays live a gay lifestyle be a drunk beat your wife etc etc and you are unrepentant you are heading down. An unrepentant christian is just as destine for hell as as an atheist. And if you know the history of Lutherans and Catholics i understand the venom that may come my way. lol. Side note we hold our Lutheran service is a catholic school gym every Sunday. Times have changed from 500 years ago lol.
St Malachy’s Black Pope? Perhaps?
This pope’s direct attack on traditional Catholic/Christian doctrine is appalling.
FTR, a fallen away Anglican, no matter, its a gay church like the Uniteds and other apostate churches.
The Pope is a heathen, “God on Earth”, yeah right………….
The Pope works for the Catholic Church, the richest non-taxpaying corporation in the world, that encourages its flock to stay in poverty, and accept it, while keeping the tithing alive so the wealthy cardinals and reps can flit around the world, telling the flock how to live, and to accept their poverty.
Sorry, but the Catholic Church is just rotten to the core, and perhaps this isn’t the forum for it, but, as far as this Pope is concerned, he’s from the dark side, as dark as the child molester’s that the CC continues to hide to this day.
Ken:
Indeed, the Soviet powers that be made the Russian Orthodox Church subservient to the state instead of equal as it had been during Czarist times.
Much of my particular North American jurisdiction re-united with the Moscow Patriarchate, but we refused. In humility, our goal is to be as close to spiritual (not political) practises of the traditional apostolic church as possible.
As DanBC has observed much of the BC Anglican jurisdiction is a gay church, much to the chagrin of my deceased father-in-law, a former deacon who was horrified at the way the church of his childhood had been infiltrated and its parishioners brainwashed.
As much as I believe they’re misguided in their final solution, is it any wonder Islamic extremists see the corruption of the spiritual word by Rome and its offshoots into the NDP at prayer and believe it’s their duty to cleane the world?
The KGB has targeted the Catholic Church since at least the Second World War. Read Pacepa’s book about the Disinformation Bureau of the old Soviet Union and their role in all this.
So why can’t there be a friendly drug free cult somewhere, that doesn’t abuse things or cry at tree’s or any of that other weird stuff you see the granolas doing.
Eastern mysticism sucks, especially the bed spring jumping yogis. I do like the Buddhists, but not up with sitting around all day going Ohhhhmmmmmmm with a bunch of smelly guys that don’t bathe. The Chinese are a little out there with the Ancestral Ghosts that want millions of dollars in fake money (burned no less).
I’d start my own cult if it wasn’t so much work BS-ing with nut-jobs all the time. Then you end up wanting to drug them so they’d STFU for a minute about breathing plants or whatever and listen up.
Pastafarianism for me!
There is night 99, its called being a lutheran. lol .
LOL
Knight 99 – there must be some cult, somewhere, that bases itself on the holiness of good spelling. God knows you need that kind of catechism.
DanBC- You would know something about being rotten to the core(ness). I went to Catholic schools, and though I never experienced any problems, it is obvious that there were rogue priests, the same as there are rogue glaziers and carpet-layers and etc, ad nauseum! I would suggest you read Ian Mulgrew at the Vancouver Sun, who (finally) has written an expose about lawyer Stephen Bronstein and one, Ivon Johnny who was “assisting” various claimants who are attempting to get compensation for supposed abuse, while (illegally) taking a cut from each settlement. WAKE UP and smell the coffee Dan!
Larry Bennett >
I’ll be fine on spelling Larry, done good dargonit all my lowly life despite the endless brow-beatings from my intellectual superiors.
BTW – U got some sort of cult I can join?
Wayward RC here. Spent most of my adult life away from the church as an agnostic. Returned to the church about 10 years ago, and made every effort to attend mass every Sunday, and with the odd exception due to serious illness, pretty much achieved that objective.
Now I am troubled with the leadership of the current pontiff. So much so that I’m seriously considering leaving the church, but I have decided to wait until the Synod this coming October to see which direction the church will finally go. So far, the signs don’t look too good. I am thoroughly dumbfounded at the events that took place during the synod last October, and I see more and more evidence that the pope is a statist at best, a communist sympathizer at worst.
It will be pretty hard to leave the church I committed myself to 10 years ago, after all, it is the church of my heritage. I was wondering if any one had any credible and constructive suggestions as to what my options could be if I do decide to leave the church.
Paul in Calgary – No Paul YOU don’t need popes and pageantry – I do. The idea that good works are of no use to salvation is ridiculous. When Peter denied Jesus (thrice) he didn’t do it because it was foreordained, he did it because he was a coward. He admitted as much and he “wept bitterly at his cowardice. For his faults he would die in Rome where Christ’s Church was to be founded.
In the end, we should maybe listen to Augustine who said in reference to these questions: In essentias, unitas – in nonessentias, libertas – in omnius, caritas. (Or some such – my Latin is rusty, my memory, fast fading.) Basically: In essentials, unity (The Apostle’s Creed) in non-essentials, liberty – in all things -charity!
nilesmaxim – You might want to check daily with David Warren’s excellent blog – Essays in Idleness – he himself is a convert from Anglicanism, and as always, there is much to be learned from converts. as cradle-catholics are always so blase.
The pope has ecepted the false religopn of Enviromentalism and pushes this Global Warming poppycock maybe he needs reminded by the Aztecs,Incans and Myahns that were also enviromentaly minded so much they scarified humans to their Run,Rain and other pagan gods
nilesmaxim
Leave a particular church if you must but I hope you always stick with God. I was an atheist in my youth, and later an agnostic as I began to realize how arrogant it was to say I knew for certain there was no God.
Having no church background whatsoever – my parents didn’t attend church – I was uncertain about which of the numerous Christian groups I should join when I finally became a Christian. My personal solution has been to pray about it earnestly and then try to discern how the church I belong to lines up with the teachings of the Scriptures. This takes trust in God, that He can and does guide us, as well as an effort on my part to try to understand the Bible.
Invite Him into your inner life if you haven’t already done so. Jesus is absolutely trustworthy based on the testimony of those who encountered and then followed Him. This has been my experience thus far (40 years) as well. He knows all about us anyway – after all He knows everything.
