Ya know, I always figured Folk Music caused cancer or something. Turns out I was right.
Granola crunching folkies die from cancer
Is hiphop and rap music. I protest
This makes me wonder what a similar table would look like for writers, by genre.
You know, poets (suicide, probably), adventure/thriller (smoking), romance (hiking accidents), science fiction (tight cosplay costumes), etc.
And if I ever see a famous musician on an airplane I’m boarding, I’m going to leave immediately and happily pay whatever penalty I have to as well as waiting for the next flight!
The bigger question is does the same pattern apply to the genre’s music fans?
Scary movie theme songs like THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY that a scary theme song
At least Rap or Hip hop artists (had to add artists to prove I’m not racist) don’t have to worry about diseases related to old age. Bonus. And Heavy metal suicide ? Imagine the shock when the drugs wear off and you listen to what you thought was great just a few hours before. And you can’t get anymore drugs. And you can’t get that noise out of your head. Perfectly understandable that one would welcome suicide. I always wondered why one never hears Heavy metal or Rap/Hip hop in Seniors complexes. This study finally clears that up.
rap and hip hop have not been around long enough to seriously skew the stats. I hope it is not around much longer.
Dumb liberal songs like DOG & BUTTERFLY,BIG YELLOW TAXI,MUSKRAT LOVE, and others as well especialy the ones that mention violence and murder
Sorry Peter, I’m perfectly sober, never took any drugs, but I love me some metal. My collection is loaded with Judas Priest, Rammstein, Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, Metallica, Pearl Jam, along with some easy listening stuff like AC DC, The Who and Blue Oyster Cult. It’s just taste, and I’m happy with mine
So what about all the whining C&W “artists”? You know, the ones who screech about their wives leaving them, taking everything but the stupid pick-up? No wonder that Brockback(fag) Mountain was so popular. When your only choice is guys on the range, wellllll.

mmmm, maybe wait a few years.
BTW – stop hanging out in Seniors complexes, your scaring them already.

Nice collection, don’t forget Maiden!
Of course Zeppelin, Floyd et al not necessary to mention, but everything from classical, blues & Jazz to Eminem *(The King of rap/ Hip Pop)rounds out music listening nicely.
footnote *Not to be confused with the Godfather of rap Vanilla Ice.
And B.B. King just escaped the grim reaper again, at age 89. Hope he goes on a few more years. Plays better than 90% of the alleged musicians a quarter his age.
I like some of everything you listed and love AC DC. The heavy metal I refer to is 5 guys that sound like they’re all playing a different song at the same time and there’s no rhythm whatsoever. But I certainly concede that it would be a dull world indeed if we all had the same taste in music. There is a thin line between hard rock and heavy metal and it hurts my ears when that line is crossed. Went to a Rammstein concert a few years ago when they were in Dawson Creek BC and as most concerts go, most was good, some bad and some terrible, but heavy metal seems to attract the people that like to enhance the experience with drugs of all sorts. I’m fairly certain a good percentage couldn’t remember a thing the next day. To each their own. PS, the senior line is just a guess, yet seems logical. But hey…..I’ve been wrong before. Anyone know ??

Wonder no more. It’s because they’re deaf.
