I agree, and with Hans, that the Catholic church has survived all the ideologies that have attempted to destroy it as have the Orthodox and other Protestant churches in eastern Europe. All the churches in Russia and Ukraine are actually stronger now than they were in the twilight of the Czars.
Many people died for their faith Russia and eastern Europe, including a number of my relatives, so this made the survivors stronger and this ultimately helped destroy the attacking ideology.
