Alberta Ardvark: Varinder Bhuller, the candidate who already was green-lighted for the Liberal Party of Canada’s nomination in Edmonton Mill Woods dropped a bombshell right in Justin Trudeau’s lap with his latest Facebook post…
I received my Green Light from the party in March 2014 and I was promised that there would be a nomination prior to Edmonton’s Sikh Parade in May 2014 so that I could campaign as a candidate there. In April 2014, however, I found out that Councillor Sohi came into the picture, and since then everything has stalled on the nomination front. Various party officials met with me in May, June and August 2014, pressuring me to withdraw my name in favour of Councillor Sohi so he wouldn’t need to contest a nomination. They tried to bribe me, threaten me and ultimately expired all my memberships by delaying the nomination beyond December 31, 2014 in the hope that our team would not renew their memberships.
Emphasis mine.

The ‘admirer of Chinese dictatorship’ in action. Splendid!
Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch…OPEN, FREE and FAIR nominations.
Cough, hack, wheeze…’democracy’ in action.
If I needed your vote, I’d tell you I’ve already got a mandate.
Cheers

“The very finest government that money can buy.”
Trudeau’s multiculturalism working its finest: bringing East Asian politics to our shores so we can have the delight of experiencing their culture without ever having to get on a ship or a plane.
Pass the curry and rice, or should that be popcorn and beer???
The problem I have with these “revelations” is that this is nothing new for the Liberals. This is SOP for them, they do literally -everything- this way. Its not who you know, and its not who you blow, its how you blow who you know. Doesn’t matter, the Media still loves them.
Why does anyone think Ontario doesn’t have a manufacturing sector anymore? Because Big Donors lobbied the Liberals for help in killing off their smaller competitors, and it was done, and the cycle kept repeating until the only companies left operating in Ontario are either so small nobody notices them, or they are mega multinationals who can afford to bribe their way along with big donations for big politicians and hockey tickets for thousands of petty officials.
And we have the nerve to criticize the Greeks.
When are these Liberal candidates going to come to their senses and figure this guy out?!
Now, now, stop that mud slinging with; it doesn’t matter if it’s true, it’s just unfair. Remember the mememedia code: if we don’t cover it, it didn’t happen, plus we have to agree with it.
Answer to your question is when the media stop turning a blind eye. Or perhaps Libs like it this way.
Don’t expect the media to follow this closely. A very similar situation occurred recently in a Sudbury provincial bye-election.

Sun news followed it for a bit…crickets from the media party.
People who vote Liberal have no idea what any of this means, nor do they know anything about prior Liberal statements on this issue; or any other issue, nor do understand what any of those prior statements meant even if they could remember them./sarc off
My point is… the only value of the “Shiny Pony” meme is our own personal enjoyment… because as I said…”people who vote Liberal have no idea what any of this means”.
The bottom line is this… whatever happens between now and the election is irrelevant to Liberal voters; as they’ve already decided, though on a much different criteria.
I’ve repeated this consistently… the voters we are concerned about are those who switched their votes from LPC to CPC over the last two election cycles. We need to determine ‘why’ they switched their votes and maintain the course.
Mitt Romney was right; just not very bright! We truly are working-on a very slim slice of the electorate(5%-7%) with whom we need to communicate. JMO
This reminds me of a movie I saw once.
Animal House
“the voters we are concerned about are those who switched their votes from LPC to CPC over the last two election cycles.”
I think these people are independents. That is, they vote their wallets.
I think it was Kevin Grace, formerly a writer for the now defunct Report Magazine who used to write the Ececltica column, that said, “If conservatives want to win, they have to gaze where the grass is.”, which I took to mean that there are a large number of conservative(and other voters) out there who don’t feel that their interests are represented so they don’t vote. That number is somewhere in the neighbourhood of 35-40%.
If the conservative party ‘grazed where the grass is’ instead of jockeying for part of the Left market share, they would consistently win elections.
JMO
So. Here’s how it goes.
“I wanted to be a Liberal arsehole but the Liberal Arseholes acted like Liberal arseholes and wouldn’t let me be a Liberal arsehole. It just ain’t fair!”
Well…there you go I am wrong again…TorStar is covering the Sudbury story…in a way.
I am surprised at the comments:

Anything in MSM yet about the Calgary Lib ‘nomination?
I do love how these Indians all cling to the Liberal Party like water on a beer glass on a hot summer day, always expecting their special treatment. It gets rather funny when they start squabbling among each other.
Why doesn’t this idiot wake up? Or is the Liberal Party baby blanket the only thing he knows in life?
There are other political parties out there, but perhaps this twit hasn’t figured that out yet, blinded by the multi-culti Liberal universe.
I laughed out loud at this “I am a liberal-minded person, but I don’t know if I can make myself support this version of the Liberal Party of Canada, which is seemingly missing any sense of ethics or democracy.”
Yeah right. Bet you anything the sucker votes Liberal until he dies.
That Sudbury has some interesting politics.
Back in December 2013, Justin flew out there at our expense. One night, flew in, did his stuff, and then flew out the next day.
It is listed on his ‘pro-active disclosure’ as;
” Visit to Shkagamik-KWE Health Centre, Nickel Rim South Mine, Collège Boréal. ”
https://www.liberal.ca/proactive/?parliamentarian=justin-trudeau
However, there is no mention that JT headlined a $1,200 a plate fundraiser for the Liberal party that evening.
I think that the mine and hospital visit were secondary to Justin’s real purpose. The ‘College Boreal’ event was a free breakfast, likely for the ones who could not afford the dinner the night before. The fundraiser was not widely advertised. If you were a Liberal member, or had subscribed to their website, you got an invite.
With all the hi-jinks going down in Sudbury these days, I would not be surprised if someone is holding a few details about that trip over Justin’s head.

the liberals will always have the edge on the ethnic vote. you have to remember the vast majority of third world immigrants to canada come from countries where the vote is a sham… the ruling oligarchy, tribe, religious splinter group basically sets up a pre-rigged contest to cement their hold on power.
it must be so very familiar and reassuring to see the liberals running the same gaffed game here. justin just torpedoed the nomination of the wife of prince of pot marc emery… despite trudeau’s stated wish to legalise dope in canada.
another couple candidates in toronto got the same treatment recently. don’t sweat it… it’s a liberal thing.

“…Ececltica …”
Is that a spelling error? It hurts trying to say it.
“I do love how these Indians all cling to the Liberal Party like water on a beer glass on a hot summer day”
Oh, it isn’t just the Indians. Dog-like political fealty isn’t restricted to ethnicity, or for that matter, to any particular party. Lots of big C Conservatives around here who’d be sniffing turdo la doo’s arse if it was painted blue.
Yes. It is a spelling error. I was up all night, but still, my spell checker caught it(didn’t give me a better spelling just, a huh?) but I didn’t trust the checker and hit submit.
Then I saw I botched it, badly.
Bribe? Threaten?
Arent those supposed to be bad things, maybe illegal things. Offering an inducement not to run…..I mean if anyone else did that wouldn’t there be an investigation. Was he going to get money? WHere would that have come from? Would it have been declared as election expenses or is there still brown paper bag money floating around the Liberal Party?
Kate emphasized these words……are we so jaded that it is just assumed that this is standard operating procedure?
Cry me a river you idiot.
Good grief – these damned immigrants come to this nation and think they know it all and promptly get in bed with the scummiest politicians in the land – and then cry the blues when they turn out to be turds! Justin is doing you a favour you idiot! This is how he treats his friends – just think of how this idiot love child of Pee-air will treat your constituents…
However, if you are hellbent on proclaiming your stupidity in a public fashion…I’m sure you can probably make an arrangement with the Dippers or Elizabeth May…
Meh – another hyper-partisan branded Lib doosh learns about Librano situational ethics first hand – maybe next week he’ll get mugged even after hep pulls his trusty speed-dialed 911 call is ignored by both perp and cops and complete the full transformation into a realist.
Oz – Speaking of Kevin Michael Grace, I heard on SunMedia that Ted Byfields’s son, and a fine journalist himself, had just died of cancer.
Sorry, forgot to name the man – Link Byfield.
” Librano situational ethics ”
That sums it up very well.
When you sleep with mangy dogs, you wake up with fleas.
Preston manning blocked nominations too. Right wing candidates.
Give Preston his due: when Deborah Grey was the only Reformer elected to the HoC, Preston went with the all-woman representation instead of – as many expected – asking her to step down so he could run in a by-election. The next time the NDP and Libs whine about right-wing prejudice against women, remind them that Reform is the only part to have had 100% female representation.
Link Byfield has died? Oh no. So sad to hear.
I liked him a lot and even voted for him when he was running for the Alberta Senator-in Waiting seat. Link was a founder of the Wild Rose Party of Alberta. So sad.
