Nothing worth watching after the first hour and twenty-five minutes.
They need different backgrounds colours for a person of colour, the red and white is like camo
From the CP / Canadian Press article in National Post re: By- elections
“The Liberal share of the vote has more than quintupled over the dismal 3% the party won in 2011” (to a whopping 18% in Yellowhead)
Another money quote after the Conservatives decisively won last night in Whitby by 9% there is this
“The close result, despite an all-out push by the Conservatives, suggests the resurgent Liberals may give the ruling party a run for its money in the crucial suburban ridings around Toronto — a key battleground in next year’s general election”.
It appears that the article was written to show Liberal momentum when the Liberals clearly and decisively lost both By elections
CP / National Post is / are not a reliable news source
Well at least the first hour and a bit made sense. Who were the two twits at the end and what were they babbling about?
From this I gather that the Liberal strategy is to end income splitting and to convince the government that climate change is real.
Trudeau is in his element as an actor, posing as a political leader, emoting the lines written for him by his “brains” behind the curtain and in the wings prompting him. When they are not there to come to his rescue when tough questions a Prime Minister would have to deal with are asked he shows his lack of political acumen and proves to be a poseur. We cannot have a poseur with faceless bureaucrats running the country given the serious issues we are facing at this time.
Even a die-hard Liberal would have trouble sitting through an hour and 50 minutes of that. Are the Liberals attempting to ‘break the internet’?
“Team Trudeau”
That is the Liberal strategy in a nutshell, “our guy is cool, and look at his hair!”
We only have to look south to see how well that is working out…
My take away from the “Liberal Sweep” the MSM trumpeted is that the Liberal share of the vote increased dramatically, the NDP share of the vote dropped dramatically and now angry Tom knows what he always feared; he will have to go after Trudeau hammer and tong if the NDP is to have any chance of salvaging their official opposition status. Harper will then be able to sit back in a statesmanlike fashion and watch the NDP and Liberals make the Conservatives look like the only adult in the room. If the Conservatives can get 40% of the vote, they could get another majority. Inshallah.
Is this what it was like being a student in one of his classes?
Thanks God he can’t influence young and overly impressionable minds any more.
Wait…well there is CTV and the CBC…scratch that.
Testament to the left with an hour and a half of nothingness and a half hour of nonsense.
Sorry, life is too precious to waste an hour and half listening to shiny pony. Is there a Coles Notes summary?
If the NDP cannot regain their ‘fair share’ of the left then Turdeau Jr. will benefit come 2015. The Dippers are in retreat as their provincial government in Manitoba collapses. Queebec will go with whoever promises the most dolly. I do expect the Liebels will recover the Dipper seats there. 2015 will come down to how many seats the CPC can keep in Ontario.
As per usual I wonder who controls the CPC message as the party does a brutal job IMHO.
After the Conservatives deliver a commanding win, for those motivated enough to vote, “True-Dope-ia” announces a LIEberal tsunami…
This has the same ring as Nancy Pelosi assuring the Dems, after the wipeout, that they had a splendid day on the hustings…

He speechified for an hour 50 minutes? Castro wannabe.
Had to research the bye-election results buried in a small column in the first section of the Calgary Herald.
“…We cannot have a poseur with faceless bureaucrats running the country given the serious issues we are facing at this time.”
Oh yes we can. And we will if we don’t get enough citizens doing enough to prevent it. Democracy affords a peaceful means to get rid of a really bad (or good) government, but it doesn’t prevent the electorate installing one.
Given that bi elections traditionally favour the opposition, this is even worse for Trudeau
Hard to tell if the proglodyte lost going by the demagoguery spewed by the empty hair do.
Trying to decipher the cliché-laced palaver from the man-child, it sounds like the Libranos are coming to the public with a gift basket covered with a flashy cover to conceal its empty content. Decoding the rhetoric it seems like the same vacant lib mantra – Harper bad, practical economics are oppressive, anyone from west of mount royal cannot be trusted with the nation’s interests, Montreal-Toronto inanity IS Canadian culture and – hey, my hair great, Harper’s is Graaaaay!!
Yawwwwn. Save a spot next to Neon Dion and Count Iggy, here comes the empty hair do another cynical Librano attempt at leadership marketing that failed to fool the public.
Up is down. Black is white.
There are 5 lights.
Loss is win.
Spin, spin, spin.
Just watched “What’s his name’s” wife on SUN news and find it absolutely hilarious that the ‘believers’ can spout the liberal ‘almost’ win with a straight face. Her comment about ‘Iggy’ will be repeated in a few years when Justin fails to delivery, just like ‘Iggy’ did. What is that quote about doing the same thing and expecting a different result. ‘Iggy’ had a reputation to work with when he ran as the Liberal leader, he had an impressive CV and the Liberals threw him under the bus PDQ. He’s been replaced by Justin, who’s done exactly what? Oh, right , he was born! These liberal pundits are so bereft of brain cells that they, like their liberal in arms brothers south of the border and like Ms. May think that voters are stupid. A majority of Canadians have found that we have weathered the current, since 2008, recession a good bit better than the rest of the West. Indeed our North American cousins are a laughing stock across the world after electing the “one”. The Liberals are going to try and repeat that effort but they will find that Canadians are more discerning. They can try and wrap baloney in a fancy package and label in sirloin, but I don’t think Canadians are going to buy it.
So… I opened up the video and sat through 45 seconds of some really annoying beat that must have come off my Grandma’s electric organ she had circa 1980 overlaid with train whistles, the Liberal of Party Canada logo bouncing all over the place telling me it was live and about to begin shortly and than at the 45 second mark nursing a headache I turned it off.
To bad he’ll never orate like a real speaker.
Clip was obviously carelessly compiled before posting.
Typically Liberal style – A rather strange exhibition of the Pareto principle – 80% nothingness followed by 20% of self-congratulatory hubris.
Perhaps a metaphor for the skills that JT’s team would bring to government?
Certainly an unconventional way of snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.
Nutter’s acumen “In the academic world, you think now and decide never; in the government it’s just exactly the other way around.”
Heh
This message just appeared.
This video is unlisted. Be considerate and think twice before sharing.
LOL
By-elections are the time to humble the government. They weren’t humbled. People vote differently in by-elections but the Conservatives have done really well for the last 8 years. Didn’t they just lose the one in Labrador? Pretty good.
Dealing firstly with the video – An hour and twenty plus of dead air before anyone appears – at least it wasn’t shot with a cell phone camera.
As for M. Trudeau’s speech – I’ll just ask if it’s wise to thrash the Government and proclaim that Canadians are preparing for change on a night where the Government’s candidate received a plurality and nearly an outright majority of the votes cast in the election?
Trudeau’s speech was clearly written (and practiced over and over) with the expectation that this was going to be a winning evening.
Neither he nor his candidate were able to ad lib over they lost, so they kept calling it a win.
Bizarre.
I’m not going to watch an hour and fifty one minutes of the man/child and the Liberal party.
It just aint happening.
Watched at the beginning and it kept saying ” this webcast will begin shortly” and kept flashing the Liberal emblem.
Yikes, what a win for them!
Go Harper!
A good analysis by Alice Funke, clearly showing that Forum Research, in its weekend polls, underestimated CPC support by between 5 and 12 percent, depending upon the riding:
http://www.punditsguide.ca/2014/11/by-election-shocker-conservatives-retain-whitby-oshawa/
She also notes that Ms. Perkins’s vote percentage was higher than Jim Flaherty’s was in both 2006 and 2008.
Ms. Funke also had an interesting report a week or two back showing that the number of MPs who are retiring at the end of this parliament is lower than in 2011, and substantially lower than the number retiring in the years that Mulroney-Campbell and Chretien-Martin went out of office, indicating, according to her, that the upcoming election is not seen by the participants as the end of this government’s life.
I watched Trudeau for about ten seconds and then had to turn it off, because I really can’t stand listening to him. Beyond trying to push the fallacy that this was somehow a victory (Warren Kinsella is out there doing the same thing, strangely), it strikes me as very odd that he would appear in Whitby-Oshawa to preside over a losing cause: it’s a perverse twisting of the old saying about defeat being an orphan; in this case, Trudeau’s behaviour leaves one with the frightening impression that it actually did have a father — him.
At any rate, the safer and more proportional response would have been simply to issue a news release noting the increase in the Liberal vote and downplaying the likelihood that the Liberals could have taken these “safe Tory ridings”. He’s really developed a pattern of over-reach and lack of proportionality in his public pronouncements, which is a hole he might want to stop digging.
God help us if Ontairo puts this mindless asshole in…Alberta must enact the not withstanding clause.
Oh yes, I remember him:
COUNT IGULA “Rise Up… RISE UP!!!! …..hissssss”.
A face only a mother cobra could love.
True, Ontario is a perfect example.
Reminds of a satirical item re Radio Moscow reporting on a long ago USA – USSR
athletic competition at the height of the Cold War:
“5000 meter run.
The lone USSR entrant, Vlad Kommunskaya, did very well on the course and came in second.
The lone USA entrant, W. Monger, was in trouble from the start and came in second to last”.
I recall a woman voter who always voted Liberal because she once shook Trudeau pere’s hand. Guess she will be voting Liberal again because she once shook the scion’s father’s hand. This is the total awareness of some Canadian people.
Liberals ahead in national polling
Liberals ahead in Whitby byelection poll
Liberals lose byelection
Liberals lose federal election in 2015
Any questions?
The last time heard a speaker use the term “extrwordinarwy” was Madeline Khan’s character Lilli Von Stomph in Mel Brook’s Blazing Saddles
“A wed wose, how extrwodinarwy”
Strangely when I hear Leisure Suit Larry say it just lacks the same impact.
He better tell Gerald to fire the speech writer.
I would encourage all of you to go to the official website of Elections Canada and check out Trudeau’s past record in 2008 and 2011 in his own fed. riding of Papineau.
While he won both elections, he only got 41% of the vote in 2008 and even less in 2011. (38%) Yet today he was on TV claiming a victory of sorts when the Conservative Pat Perkins received 49% of the vote in Whitby-Oshawa with almost 3000 votes above the Liberal.
Reminds me of the Iraqi ‘Information’ Officer Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf during the first gulf war. Just unbelievable. Talk about spin.
Agreed.
Maybe Jr. Trudozo is so dense he doesn’t understand the difference between winning and losing, its possible, I mean come on, the guy is an effing idiot! Or perhaps Jr. thought that pretending to win when you lose is exactly the same as winning, he does like to pretend. Jr. also likes to refer to himself as a “progressive” which of course as everyone knows, anyone referring to themselves as “progressive” is most certainly the polar opposite. Perhaps Jr. was simply blathering “progressive” speak, black is white, down is up, dictatorships are to be admired, a lie is the same as the truth, and a loss is a win. Either way, he”s still an idiot and he still lost.
Winning for Trudeau’s puppeteers is beating the NDP which is a step up from being bringing up the rear.
In order for the Butthead Liberals to keep their dream of glory alive they’ll have to put their star Pony more and more in the spotlight and that will spell disaster. Can anyone imagine the gormless Ex-Colonel Leslie in foreign affairs and Chrystia Freeland in finance with credentials being she wrote a couple of books about wealthy people?
That was “lili von Schtupp”, knowing Mel Brooks invented the name for the character, you can easily imagine what the word means in Yiddish.
