Really? This is how it works when someone breaks into a house to play with the butcher knives?

A man who police say went into the wrong home in error won’t be charged with the break-and-enter at Justin Trudeau’s Rockcliffe Park home earlier this month.
Police said Tuesday the man came forward to police when he saw the surveillance video released publicly after the break-in on Aug. 16.
“A thorough investigation has determined no charges should be laid,” an Ottawa police news release said. “A satisfactory amount of evidence shows the person entered the wrong home in error.”

So, who owned the right home?
The jokes about the suspect’s family resemblance just got a little more credible.

  1. As suggested above and by a commenter at Blazing Cat Fur I read just a few minutes ago, maybe it was a diplomat’s son and thus the coverup?
    I still want to know the full contents of the note; if Sasha has an alibi; and (ha-ha) expect an apology to conservatives/Conservatives for the reports and Trudeau implying that it was a conservative leaving a death threat for Justin and family.

  4. Where did this guy get pissed? The two closest bars are the Clock Tower and Edinburgh Arms, fine establishments both. From there, there is a stiff uphill walk to Rockliffe (I don’t know his address). Did he take a cab from where he had been drinking? Does Trudeau actually live in Rockcliffe (as reported by the media) or New Edinburgh?

  5. Well, to be fair the Ottawa Police don’t concern themselves with investigating petty property or break and enter crimes. The best you can hope for from them is a police report number to put on your insurance claim and in this case there wasn’t even anything stolen.
    So once they found out this guy didn’t realize he was in a “Protected Person’s” house, they naturally wished him luck with his B&E career. As long as he sticks to robbing regular citizens there’s no reason for the police to think they’ll cross paths with him again.

    C’mon folks…nobody walks thru a ritzy neighborhood and stops at ‘the wrong house’…this story has too many holes.

  8. If the door was opened, and the perpetrator had a reasonable explanation as to why he believed he was in a different home, I can understand no charges being laid. After all, idiot Trudeau was in a hurry to get to the gay parade, he had other things on his mind besides his children and his wife’s safety and/or the bolt on the door. So the door was opened! There was no break in.
    What irks me is that Trudeau will now receive home security for free. Free for Justin, but not free for you and me!

  12. Maybe the guy “breaking in” was really Trudeau’s wife’s lover,,,and the whole story about the knives and note were just props for a distraction.
    Maybe Trudeau should get a DNA test on his latest kid!

  16. Oh come on folks this was all about getting an RCMP detail for the leader of the third place party. He really really wants one cause all the cool kids have one. Besides an RCMP detail adds gravitas to otherwise silly statements.

    In communist dictatorships admired by Justin Trudeau, opposition politicians fear the government may enter their home at anytime and detain them without a warrant. In Canada, opposition politicians can leave his doors unlocked at night without that fear.

  18. “Who are these people?” Some would consider them unfit parents, but whatever their excuse, whatever reason they don’t want to press charges is key here. More concerning is the identity of the intruder is not made public so it leads us to wonder if it’s a case of some people are more equal than others at play here and we should know the reason why in this case.
    If Trudeau needs more security as leader of the third party the LPC can pay for it.
