1. I don’t think I’ve seen a purdier sight since I was 12 and my cousin showed me what a hollow-point can do to a gopher. I can’t remember whether it was 2 or 3 backflips before it landed, but it was pretty.

3. Is there something here about the Big Blue Argonauts and Roughriders game that I’m missing? 26 of July? … Kyla’s an easterner and you’ve just got to watch them or they’ll turn on you, I’m suggesting we may be seeing the real Kyla here.

6. There is a Blue Heron sanctuary about a klick from my house where I walk my dogs every now and then. I had no idea that they ate gophers, but it makes sense considering there isn’t any real body of water for quite a few miles from here, just the occasional slough which is what the heron sanctuary is.
   I wonder what sort of potential danger they pose to the small children riding their trikes on the sanctuary paths.

9. I recently lost all the Koi in my backyard pond to one of those herons.My cat apparently had big ideas about stalking the heron but thought better of it at the last moment. Good thing,that bill versus a cat cranium = one dead cat.

   Gopher shooting is how all my friends learned to shoot, once you’ve mastered shooting just the tip off a gopher’s head from fifty feet away,Cooey .22 single shot,iron sights, anything else is easy.
