Forward!

Via Breitbart;

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Inspector General, located in Washington, DC, pursuant to the authority of FAR Part 13, has a requirement for the commerical acquisition of submachine guns, .40 Cal. S&W, ambidextrous safety, semi-automatic or 2 shot burts trigger group, Tritium night sights for front and rear, rails for attachment of flashlight (front under fore grip) and scope (top rear), stock-collapsilbe or folding, magazine – 30 rd. capacity, sling, light weight, and oversized trigger guard for gloved operation.

Probably nothing.

  1. I remember a day when the USDA used to concern themselves with climate zone maps so a poor schlub like myself would know whether a Crepe Myrtle would survive in my yard or not. Guess those days are over, huh?

  2. Yes, but soon you will have their endorsement of one of the various submachineguns on the market so I guess it’s an acceptable trade-off.

  3. Oh come on now, don’t be a conspiracy nut, it’s nothing, you have to trust your government knows what its doing.
The explanation is pretty simple – They’re probably gearing up to raid islamic terror cells who are now raising corn to feed halal suicide cows who will be deployed as methane bombs the terrorists will use to attack state fairs across the nation – in a war on terror the gummint needs all the guns it can get – including yours.

  4. This is very simple. The Big Kahunas at USDA in Washington look out the window of their corner office, and they see… Washington DC. Which is a few islands of green park in a vast sea of crap, peopled by Low Information wards of the State.
Big Kahunas know exactly how fragile the systems are that keep those wards of the state fed. How much money they owe for feeding them all. How likely it is for a major fault to crash the whole Food Stamp card thing on the same day.
The Big Kahunas, knowing all of the above, are buying machine guns, smgs, shotguns, body armour and MRAPS armoured trucks. To cover their escape route when it all hits the fan.
The similarities to Castro’s Cuba are many.

  5. There must be very large grasshoppers in the US.
That reminds me, in Nazi Germany all the various government agencies personnel were armed. Coincidence?

  6. Machine guns and flame throwers are the ONLY way to effectively deal with these small Ma&pa outlets selling UNpasteurized goats milk to people demanding UNpasteurized goats milk. Now that I think about it their clients need to be put down too. America has faced some dreadful threats in the past but none have been wurst (sic) than those who wanna produce or drink Unpasteurized milk. These treasonous felons MUST be wiped out or the very fabric of America will be lost.

  7. It looks like Obamba has his million man domestic force, just as well armed as the military that he promised.
Win one for the Liberal Left, he kept a promise.

  8. I wonder how the gun controllers are feeling, seeing the armed police state emerge as they envisioned.

  9. In Maryland, dem-rats are going to tax chicken farmers 5 cents a bird. (Purdue didn’t pay off the democratic party.) Pundits say it will ring in about 15 million. Since tax revolts are just below the surface the next step is to arm all regulatory bodies to keep revenue flowing to the DNC and leverage all avenues for coercive measures while varying the theme. So if you don’t sponsor the democrats you get taxed. Grumble, and your chickens are dirty (armed FDA)or your chicken has crapped in our bay (armed EPA) or your chicken has trodden on our land (armed BLM). Your chickens are dropping too many feathers on our road (armed DOT).

  10. Body armor required as well. Who knew being around agriculturalists was so high risk.
A May 7th solicitation by the U.S. Department of Agriculture seeks “the commercial acquisition of ballistic vests, compliant with NIJ 0101.06 for Level IIIA Ballistic Resistance of body armor.”
According to the solicitation, “The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Inspector General,” seeks “Body Armor [that] is gender specific, lightweight, [having] trauma plate/pad (hard or soft), [and] concealable carrier.” The order includes “tactical vest, undergarment (white), identification patches, accessories (6 pouches), body armor carry bag, and professional measurements.”
“All responsible and/or interested sources may submit their company name, point of contact, and telephone number.” The solicitation says those sources received in a “timely” manner “shall be considered by the agency for contact.”

  11. Yes, it’s the Geheime Wheat Board Polizei.
Ever notice how they wanted to ban 15 round clips from citizens; while the USDA needs 30 round clips to bag those nuisance grasshoppers?

  12. It all fits together with every other government agency arming itself with nothing but the best at the taxpayers expense. The only logical explanation is a “us against the unwashed hordes” mentality when the economic Titanic finally sinks beneath the waves, and no rescue is in sight. Immagine 50 million on food stamps and the Snap card bounces nationally. More than 20 million people work for various government agencies at all levels. Obama’s private Army. Drones, Fema camps, militarizing all police forces, arming every govt. agency, trying to disarm the general population and ignoring the constitution. They can see the future and they are afraid, as well they should be because they are screwing it up like the left always screws it up. That’s just my humble take on this situation. Other opinions more than welcome.

  13. “That reminds me, in Nazi Germany all the various government agencies personnel were armed. Coincidence?”
Actually, even though almost every German in the Third Reich belonged to some uniformed organization or another, only the military, the police and the military arm of the Nazi party (the SS) were routinely armed.
Hate to say it, but, between its various federal, state and municipal governments, the US probably has a far greater range of armed enforcement agencies than Hitler ever had.

  14. They feel SAFE,because ,as everyone knows, a gun in the hands of gummint agent, is Safe!
And WE are that much more secure because of these heroes.

  15. I am somewhat amazed by this report…..talk about inept bureaucrats….
I have long been on record for my lack of enthusiasm for rippers (smgs)….
An armed bureaucrat is still a bureaucrat….
    The red-necks are miles ahead.
Currently, what are otherwise obsolete battle rifles have been in high demand for some time.
    Anything chambering 30.06, 303 Brit, 7.62X54 Rimmed and so on.at gunshows reportedly….
Not as popular as ARs or AKs but popular none-the-less.
Robust and reliably accurate. At most engagement ranges, these tools render Kevlar underwear as effective as a T-shirt.
I don’t think this is coincidental.
    And thars millions of them….

  16. I was contracted to the USDA several years ago. One of the nicest guns I have ever seen belonged to them; a suppressed AR-15 chambered in 300 Whisper shooting subsonic ammo and topped with a Nightforce. Having always worn hearing protection at a range it was kinda neat to not wear any and only hear the action cycle, then the bullet smack the target backstop. I should add, I was working with the field guys, not the enforcers. The gun’s use was culling deer.
