YNoKyoto: An MSNBC Poll Goes Horribly Wrong

Anthony Watts“When you can’t even get the ultra-left MSNBC crowd to agree with your premise of climate change being a threat, maybe a strike isn’t the answer; maybe it’s just time to just give up.”

  1. Given that Anthony Watts linked the poll yesterday, and that he has more readers thatn MSNBC has viewers, I would guess his readers skewed the poll. In other words, no I don’t think MSNBC viewers are intelligent enough to make up their own mind about CAGW

  2. Many, perhaps most, can’t be fired because they have tenure, and they aren’t working for a single centralized organisation that has authority to fire them, but your sentiments are right.

  3. Maybe its just time to just give.
They never will, to many folks have wallets to fill. From researchers to civic bureaucracies . Besides its becoming the UN’s favourite Religion besides Islam.
To many governments see this as a reason to pillage the middle class for tax dollars to feed themselves. True or false, they couldn’t give a hoot. Its the money they want.
The UN sees it as Marxism in action by transferring wealth from those Nations who produce it. To those who don’t or ever will, from religious to medieval cultural practices that bring poverty.
This has nothing to do with science & all to do with socialism along with a pseudo-science of climatology. Trying to squeeze the World for funds with a bogus theory.

  4. I think Anthony said he saw the poll at 72% before he posted.
I just voted to make it 85%.
    ,
But, this won’t deter the AGWers, they are, in fact, insane.

  5. If the strike fails as bad as their kooky religious belief, they can hold their breathe.

  6. “Do you see climate change as a threat to your life or well-being?”
Arguably you could vote yes to that since climate change (or rather, the belief in climate change) stands to threaten your standard of living if all its acolytes and expert get their way.

  7. Having the AGW crowd say nothing in the future….my wish has come true. Bring on the strike…Bring on the strike…!!!!

  8. “maybe it’s just time to just give up.”
Rent seekers gotta seek that rent.
It’s some sort of Immutable Rule of the Universe or something.

  9. it seems that the poll will not allow you to vote “NO”
as it says “please select an answer chioce to vote”
I refuse to hit “YES” or “I am not sure” to test the poll.
    anyone concure?

I’m sure some of you are aware that the Envirotards along with their Vegetarian Wing are pressing full-ahead with the meme that: we must all become vegetarians to fight Climate Change. They simply cannot help themselves.
IMO this WILL be the final nail in the AGW charade as it would start a literal riot if the Administration started applying Sin Taxes to Milk and other products. I believe that the Left is too obtuse to see the writing on the wall regarding this.
I believe that by necessity, AGW will finally destroy itself for the aforementioned reason; the proverbial “final straw”.

  11. After you vote, you have to click on the coloured portions of the ring to see the results. They are taking a lot of flak for putting a check mark on the no answer.

  12. Excuse me for repeating myself, but following ‘Earth Hour’ and the revelation that our small city’s participation dropped from 6% to just 1.7%, our mayor concluded that we obviously have a very serious problem which he and council simply have to address.
His response to the fact that we just won’t cooperate: “Conserving energy is a very serious matter so we at city hall need to spend more time and POSSIBLY MORE MONEY, making people more aware of it and the need to support it.”
He will be gone come November.

  13. “Many, perhaps most, can’t be fired because they have tenure”
That is nonsense you can fire anybody. There may be an implied compensation, or NOT depending on the legal method used (ugly) it could be ~ 15 years to a conclusion.. Some die before they get a dime
The important issue is they are removed.. Period.. And any further financial benefit is flat lined.
People are fired every day… regardless of contract obligations. Only fools think they are protected.

Perhaps he will be taking the advice of the German writer Bertolt Brecht following the 1953 riots in East Berlin:
“After the uprising of the 17th June
The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee
    Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government
And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier
In that case for the government
    To dissolve the people
    And elect another?”
