We’d have been in so much better shape had we, instead of voting on the Charlottetown Accord, the rest of Canada had simply voted Quebec out of the country and began the process of getting on with life.

I am Albertan too. And if we get another Turdeau running the show from out east – I say WE split and let those Canukistanies sort themselves out. SK should come with us too.

If Trudeau Jr. were to become the next PM the west would have to separate just to survive. His greeniness would destroy our energy industry, he’d tax us into poverty to pay off his beloved Quebec and since he’d win few seats in the west he’d take his father’s attitude toward the west, ‘why should I sell your d**n wheat’.

Marois had no compelling reason to call this election in the first place, other than the fact that she was ahead in the polls. Now that the lead has evaporated, she is flopping randomly from issue to issue trying to find something that resonates with voters. It’s almost painful to watch, but I don’t mind seeing her smug persona get a slap from reality either.
Quebec has radically changed demographically what with an influx of immigrants who don’t care for sovereignty, and who are now numerous enough to swing any referendum away from separatism. If the PQ are still serious about separation, they will have to work mighty hard to change the thinking of this voting bloc, instead of alienating and blaming them for the fact that the separation engine is losing steam.

The PQ is wary that out-of-townies, mostly anglophones or the dreaded allophones may be eligible to vote and tip the scales away from them in key ridings. They want to ‘ disenfranchise’ people that are not born Quebecers.
Where is the outrage from the left?
Many of us only want voters to show ID, and that is condemned. PKP has just pulled the best “reverse-John-Tory” in politics. Arrive as the supposed heavy hitter then barf on your party’s ballot box and hand the election to the other side. Granted John has done it twice now and is poised to do it a third time to hand Toronto to Livs, but the one-fer that PKP pulled may have saved the country.
Two weeks ago the French media were buzzing about “l’effet PKP”. Looks like the actual effect was different than expected.
Don’t forget that 30$% of the world’s known reserves of high grade Uranium.

Making excuses already, but maybe Marois they may vote PQ to get the referendum to get Quebec out of Canada.
