Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Perhpas even more awkward is that “race relations” falls even lower than “climate change”. This may help to explain why the race-relations industry is becoming increasingly hysterical.
Reverse the order of these issues and you could call it “Most covered stories by US media”.
What?
Legalizing pot doesn’t top the list?
I don’t understand. I thought that was the big concern for us all according to Dear Justin The Chosen One.
Senator Bernie Sanders’ online CAGW poll that deserves to go horribly wrong:
http://www.sanders.senate.gov/polls/climate-change
Phoney email address and ZIP Code required to vote.
It would be interesting to have the same data for different subsets of population: Teenagers, University Students, Males, Females, Conservatives, Liberals, Libertarians, etc.
I agree. Furthermore, the top four items, which show the voters biggest concern, are touted by the administration as rosy.
There seems to be a large disconnect between the administration and the proletariat.
That was going to be my observation.
Gay marriage isn’t on the list, but I’d say its our watchdog media’s biggest obsession.
Al Gore was unavailable for comment.
Unexpectedly.
Yet John Kerry recently announced that the main thrust of US foreign policy during the remainder of Bam-Bam’s term will be marshaling support for measures to mitigate global warming. Talk about being out of touch.
More like “for once”.
So the sky is falling and you are a racist if you dare doubt or mock my delusion, is no longer selling.
Oh no what is Al Bore going to do?
Retreat to China, to commiserate with comrade Strong?
Once the costs of this scam comes to public notice, as in sorry that infrastructure cannot be fixed, we(you) are broke cause we(your leaders) spent all the wealth fighting the magic gas.
Ontario being our poster child, once Toronto elects the NDP parasite, its logo will be “Forward, to Detroit”.
What I would if who are the 11% that are only a little worried about the economy?
It’s always about the economy, stupid.
All else is background noise.
“Gay marriage isn’t on the list, but I’d say its our watchdog media’s biggest obsession.”
Yes, the current fixation with all things gay is interesting. Depending on what source you consult, the gay population of various countries seems to be generally estimated in the one-to-three percent range (a few push that up to seven percent).
Not a particularly overwhelming demographic by any measure – and yet the fuss and noise created over it.
I just don’t get it – with numbers like these for the economy, government size/spending, etc – how on earth did Obama get a majority of votes not once but twice?
Something doesn’t add up…
It’s important because gay marriage is a gateway policy to child brides, interspecies marriage, and repeal of age of consent laws.
everyone seems to get their day in the sun , a few years ago it was all things native. then the occupiers. humans especially the press are about the same as a horse, can only think of one thing at a time
“Perhpas [sic] even more awkward is that ‘race relations’ falls even lower than ‘climate change’. This may help to explain why the race-relations industry is becoming increasingly hysterical.”
I’ve often thought that, in the US anyway, the race-relations industry has become more shrill simply because African Americans are now quite clearly succeeding.
Wealthy TV channel owner, Supreme Court judge, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Secretary of State and now President – the highest political office in the land!
These sorts of personal successes run annoyingly counter to the dogmas of victim- and grievance-mongering.
The failure of the drug war and gay marriage (equality) may not be on the list but neither is free speech. Nonetheless these issues are important because they are about individual rights and the power of government.
That being said, the gallup poll seems about right. Economic issue are a huge concern because their effects are certain – SS will go broke, the debt and its interest payment are going to be crushing. Concern with the expansion of government like micro-regulating too much of the economy and private life, wild spending, corruption and incompetence is part of the reason why the economy is in such bad shape. Looks like rational thinking to me.
CAGW, OTOH, may happen someday and may be a problem if the science is correct. The political solutions for this “maybe” problem will certainly make the issues of government power, energy affordability and debt much, much worse. Why worry and spend billions on a speculative problems of the future with extremely expensive solutions when the real ones need attention now. Americans, like the rest of us, have seen these politically driven panics come and go so maybe they’ve finally tired of being conned out of their cash. They realize they can’t afford spending billions chasing the newest boogeyman.
Roseberry et al, the ranking of race relations also stood out for me(mainly because of the media push).
This poll just goes to show that the elite class of our democracies knows what is better for us then do we unwashed masses. If we knew what was good for us we’d just bow to the obvious superiority of our overlords. I’m sure they must resent having to suck up to us every so many years when those inconvenient elections come around.
Isn’t that how kommies operate, disconnected!!!
What you’re looking at right there is the Tea Party in chart form.
Notice all the MSM and DemocRat sacred cows are ‘way at the bottom or not even on the chart? Notice that even perennial Republican sacred cows only make the middle, at most?
Notice how the most worry is reserved for personal and family survival issues? That government is not seen as a solution but rather as the source of the other economic problems, and as a serious problem in its own right?
That’s the Tea Party. Which is why, no matter what new and ever-more-insane lies get told about it in the propaganda press, it just keeps growing and getting more pervasive and -meaner-.
It also shows just exactly how bone-hard stupid the Republican Party is. This is mil-spec stupid we’re talking here.
“Something doesn’t add up…”
Yeah a 14% ethnicity could swing a close election but when the takers have outnumbered the makers does have an effect.
I figure that 100%+ voter turnout is the most probable explanation…….The donkey opposition to photo ID, for voting, is a certain tell.
I voted – used a zip code from California.
Love the 2nd choice in Q3; they may as well replace the text with “I am a bastard”
polls like this tend to filter out some of the extremism, and that is why for the rankings as they are. Every one likes their lunch and pillow, and sitting in a 4 foot snow drift ain’t a pleasant kitchen nor bed placement.
No clayton, you are wrong on that. Pedophilia and the gay issues are separate issues, tho they may over lap some what. And it is nonsensical BS like yours that gives us true cons a bad rep!!!
On the subject of race relations at a Washington State community college:

“This may help to explain why the race-relations industry is becoming increasingly hysterical” Rosebarry
The grievance-mongering industry includes “all” the issues. Race, Gay, Rich Vs poor, Smoking, Drugs, CAGW.. Etc.. And the lines are blurred between them as they jump among the issues. These people are the same folks that are for UN Fascist Socialist solutions.
I think that there may be scientific evidence that they are a Mutant species of humanity, or not!
JMHO
If the size of the federal government wasn’t an issue neither would the first three issues be. (Did that make sense?)
From the same poll:
Among Democrats, 83 percent think the effects of global warming either have already begun or will begin in their lifetime. That’s nearly double the 42 percent of Republicans who believe the same. And while 56 percent of Democrats think global warming will threaten their way of life, Republicans are largely undaunted, with only 19 percent considering their lifestyle at risk from a warming world.
http://www.livescience.com/44092-americans-arent-threatened-global-warming.html
This is what realisation of a terrible, terrible mistake looks like.
Did the Saunders poll Looks like it might be rigged from the get-go. Said my input was #16,616. Anyone else wanna take it and report?
@ 11:16. Agreed. All hail the new aristocracy.
We make fun of it here, but the global warming/climate change scam is a great way to divert taxpayer money to campaign contributors:
“In January 2013, during his second Inaugural Address, Barack Obama promised to blow billions of taxpayer dollars on more global warming junk science projects.
After all, his donors have to get paid. Eighty percent of Obama’s green energy “investments” his first term went to committed donors.
Much of the money Obama invested in his green projects was lost. During his first term over 19 of Obama’s green ventures went belly-up after receiving billions of taxpayer dollars.”
From Jim Hoft:
http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2014/03/obama-blew-120-billion-on-global-warming-projects-80-went-to-top-donors/
and this poll is why any politician that mentions AGW or worse votes to spend our money trying to mitigate it, should be tarred feathered and run out of the country on a rail.
