Powerline: Photo of the Day – The scene is Yarmouk, a district of Damascus that is populated largely by Palestinian “refugees” and has been the scene of heavy fighting. The U.N. gained access to Yarmouk and passed out food there. These people are hoping to get something to eat.
The US administration encouraged the Syrian opposition and then dithered and eventually did nothing to help them.
Reportedly, by the time the Americans were even thinking seriously of intervention, the opposition had come to
be dominated by Islamists and the moderates had been chewed up, so the intervention would have had
American forces fighting on the side of al Quaida or similar groups. So the article is far far too easy on the
Obama administration.

The second is he’s reducing the US military to “pre-WWII” levels. Meaning soldiers are out, desk pilots stay.

The Jawas updated their article. The photo has some strange photoshop shenanigans (palestinian flags), but there are videos that show a huge crowd. Howie at the Jawas said, “And also this plate full of crow is delicious.”
They were right to be suspicious though. We have seen too many faked photos and phony stories.
It looks like to me that they forced people through the bottleneck in the street to get to the distribution point; took a frame of the clogged street maybe from the video; and then Photoshopped in the crowd foreground people to make it look like the crowd stretched all the way through to the back (and took out the flags). When something is true, you don’t have to lie about any of its particulars.
I thought it looked pretty weird too, but in my very limited time online, hoped Powerline had a legitimate source. I should probably just turn off my computer.
