  1. Daddy’s arrogance, ambition and understanding of economics.
Mummy’s intelligence, hair and hippie wisdom.
Just whatCanada needs in a Prime Minister.

  2. I have this horrible feeling that after the next eelction we will have our very own Barack Obama in charge. The good news is that he won’t be able to blame Harper for all of our problems, since there won’t be many when he assumes office. The bad news is that Justin will fix that.

  3. Politicians are all phonies , their skill is in finding a parade going somewhere and leaping in front of it.
    Pretending that they lead.
Government cannot “boost” the economy, except in the mafia sense of the word.
They can reduce their rate of theft from the productive, allowing more wealth to be seen.
But like all parasites, they are loath to voluntarily release their fangs.
We voters are very lazy, as how do you negotiate with a parasite?
Same pattern every time, when the level of theft becomes intolerable, government “helps” us by pulling back their theft, briefly.
    And it works.

  4. Damn it, I think you may be right. Beside the fact that daddy of his started the country into the red ink, the gullible sheeple will follow the trendy thing and vote for the shiny pony.

  5. I guess Justin doesn’t realize that his Liberal predecessors robbed the UI surplus and cut transfer payments to the Provinces to balance the budget,it didn’t “balance itself”.
Someone should sponsor Justin in his own business this Summer, perhaps a lemonade stand. At the end of Summer, he might have a clue about economics. Might!
Justin for Prime Minister! Canada’s Obama!

  6. This afternoon a friend told me, “If Trudeau fils is elected PM I will hleave Canada.”
I replied, “What if there’s nowhere better to go?”
He said, “You’ve gotta be kidding.”
I said, “Tu dois en avoir raison!” [you’d better be right!]

  7. Ok Lets straighten out a few myths.
    1. Yes, the Libs did inherit a large debt from Mulroney.
    2. But it was Liberal debt from Trudeau
3, And Mulroney gave the Liberals the cure with the GST.
    4. For which, he was booed.
    5. Yes economic growth, and inflation, do reduce government debt
    6. But government does not create economic growth
    7. Government impedes economic growth.

  8. Yeah, I love Justin too.
Way back in 2006 when Justin was teaching young gays and adoring lays how to snowboard, another budget came out.
    http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/brison-regrets-sending-income-trust-e-mail/article704449/#dashboard/follows/
Brison and Goodale were up to their ‘not us, no way,I’m gay and he is a straight arrow” eyebrows in BS that had them investigated, but not charged.
The rules were changed. Scott and Ralph are still scumbags.

  9. How can Justin possibly balance the budget? His priorities will be to pump money into Ontario to keep the
provincial Liberals afloat, seize part of the Muskrat Falls power for Quebec, and, probably, implement NEP II
for the joy of all Westerners. Probably some money directly to Quebec as well. He will be much like Obama
in that the Liberal policy will be to buy voters.
That will probably take the Liberals through a couple of general elections, until finally the bills come due.
I am sure that Justin does not realize that Obama sits on top of the world’s major reserve currency and can
therefore get away with things that Canada can not.
We may end up as the northern Venezuela.

  10. “The budget will balance itself”… said the substitute drama teacher and ultimate frisbee coach.

  11. One key mark of any leader is the people she or he tends to select. Shiny Pony chose Crystia Freeland as his principal economic advisor. A clear case of the stupid leading the obtuse. And there’s John McCallum trying to explain that black is white. So two things: 1. the Liberals’ economic vision is idiotic, and 2. they’re divided amongst themselves with the supposedly older and wiser heads trying to reconcile this nonsense with anything resembling reality.
It speaks much for the cynicism of the Liberals that they put up an empty suit like JT to the the putative head of government knowing how unfit he is. No doubt the older wiser heads are thinking that they will be the ones wearing JT like a glove. But then lots of former Liberal senators preumably had that thought as well, and where are they now?

  12. Harper PROMISED he would NEVER run a deficit. Now he is responsible for 25% of Canada’s debt. I would not be too quick to throw stones when Harper is demonstrably ineffective as a money manager.

  13. Justin has said Quebecers are better than the rest of Canadians, that’s one of many of his utterances that need to follow him around at election time.

  14. Genetics never lie. 🙂
    – and I suppose the debt will take care f itself – I mean it always did when Daddy’s birthright was paying the house hold budget at mount royal.

  15. Big Al. Couldn’t agree with you more. I find it kind of rich that Conservatives criticize other parties for fiscal mismanagement given their recent track record of expanding government and debt. Obviously Harper and Redford subscribe to the notion that large government and deficit spending have a positive impact on the overall economy, how else can you explain their actions. Redford actually believes she is “Growing Alberta” by running up huge deficits.

  16. Of course the coup attempt by the three stooges and the blackmailing after Barney Frank’s recession had nothing to do with the deficit.

  17. Big Al, remember that in the fall of 2008 the NDP, Liberals and Bloc colluded together to try and bring down the newly-elected Tory minority, their stated reason being that the Tories were not reacting to the economic crisis by spending the next generations money. The Tories were forced to spend money the government didn’t have in order to stay in power. This was the lesser of two evils; imagine how much a Lib/Dipper/Traitor coalition would have spent.
Now that the Tories have the majority they’re tightening the purse strings while keeping corporate taxes low to encourage job creation.
There are two problem with politics, the first is that elections have become popularity contests with the focus on charisma rather than wisdom the second is the widely held belief that governments create prosperity by increased spending when the opposite is true, prosperity is eroded by taxation and regulation.

  18. Harper increased the debt load while in a minority to satisfy the demands of the opposition.
If you want to see an example of spend thrift ways cast a glance at the cluster taking place in the US.
And just so you understand, you’ll get the same brand of Obamanomics of unicorn farts and fairy dust with a government with justin in charge.

  19. only responsible for 25% which was incurred mostly during the worst economic downturn since the dirty thirties. why don’t you complain about who generated the other 75% of the federal deficit and all of the provinces deficits?

  20. I’m reminded of some comments by our recent renovation contractor.
When I pointed out the first issue his response was “It is what it is.”
Second issue – “It’s an optical illusion.”
Final issue – “It’ll fix itself.”
