Only a madman’s illusions de grandeur could result in killing more people during peace time than Nazi’s did purposely during war. You can compare similar people’s implementing Marxism vs. freedom (the Koreas, East vs. West Germany, Cuba vs. Caymans, etc.). And you can look to see what happens when countries abandon socialism in pursuit of capitalism (China, Vietnam, the Baltics). But the real issue isn’t what a “moron” or “psychopath” Marx was. It isn’t even the devastation and poverty his cancerous and flawed “theories” has wreaked upon the world.
It’s the scary fact as to just how receptive humans are to such a stupid, and ultimately, dangerous and evil ideology.
This is why perpetual (albeit deserved) criticism of Obama or Trudeau will get one only so far. The idiot voter is the reason why Obama was elected twice and why someone thinks Monsieur Pretty-Boy would make a great financial and moral leader of this country. If one would not dream of hiring either Trudeau or Obama in one’s place of business, how on Earth could they be good enough for the countries in which they are elected?

A significant number of people, and all are susceptible to the siren call, really think that they are entitled to free stuff with minimum or no labour, that they are being somehow cheated by the liberal democratic capitalistic system, and this or that person will bring us this utopia.
Quite right, Osumashi. To succeed, democracy must have intelligent voters who understand fully their own and their collective best interests. Stupid choices is what wrecked the Athenian democracy and the Roman republic. And stupid choices will wreck us as well.
But Cap is wrong about one thing. There was nothing evil about Marx’s theory. It was utopian. And that’s why it failed; because it completely misunderstood the nature of human beings. It’s why all utopian visions fail tragically.

I think Marx’s theories were evil, even if he didn’t mean them that way. Their application has cost millions of lives.

It’s the feeding frenzy! Watched the programme on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef last night. During the show there was a portion when one of the reef feeding sharks (can’t remember the type) who were particularly suited to grabbing their prey around the coral reef pulled a parrot fish out its coral nest.
Once one of their species found a fish to chew on the rest of the breed went wild, searching and pulling at the first victim and then rapaciously grapping anything else they could.
I thought of the “let me at it” Ontario Librano Coat Tails who were the first to grab the original $.87 subsidies for solar panel installations. Once this original “maw feeder” was satisfied the subsidy was dropped to the $.57 range for the the “me to” low level lieberal supporters.
