I’ve known a couple of these people, casual acquaintance level. (You meet lots of “different” people in Toronto.) Both of them said, -after- the surgery, that it was a spectacularly bad idea. Like, cutting off your whatsit level of bad.
By contrast, people who -only- lose a limb or two usually do quite well. I know lots of them. They have good lives.
Sample of two is not large enough to base a hypothesis on, but I’d be fascinated to see what the long-term outcome on these trans-people is generally. I’m envisioning a downward spiral ending in substance abuse and/or permanent institutionalization.

This is nothing new really. When I was in my mid teens (54 now), I knew Mike Duff. He was a very nice, polite, quiet and diminutive man who had raced for the Yamaha Japan team on 250cc road race bikes in the 60s. He actually won a single Grand Prix, but unfortunately never a world championship. I remember he walked with a slight limp due to a serious hip injury after a nasty testing crash. He also was instrumental in developing the TZ250 Yamaha road race bike that was extremely popular with lesser talented racers like myself (I had a 1981 version).
One day, I was reading Cycle Canada magazine and saw an article about Mike becoming Michelle. I called a friend and fellow roadracer who happened to be a senior editor there at the time and asked “is that true?”. I mean, it was rather a shock way back then – especially when the guy was one of my heroes! The response, of course, was “we couldn’t print it if it wasn’t true”.
So, as far as I know, Mike is still Michelle after all these years. The only difference is that the taxpayer wasn’t on the hook for it back then.
Coming to multi gender washroom near you –

What’s to demand? I’ve seen them just walk into men’s washrooms and use them at the Calgary Stampede and McMahon Stadium going on 30 years now. Double standard, just like the girls in Boy Scouts.

The way around this situation is to push the legal absurdity so far that even the densest LIV will realize that something is very rotten in that lunatic asylum known as government. Now that I realize I can call myself a woman when convenient, I can sue the airport security guards that subjected me to a pat down search. I insisted on having a female security guard perform the pat down and, when I had about 8 of the statist robots around me it did get other passengers attention. My argument then was what if the male statist robot that wanted to pat me down was queer? Now, having utilized the power of the law to declare myself a woman, I can also become a lesbian and demand a female pat down at airport security. Also, I can utilize women’s restrooms and, if I were interested in advertising my availability on dating sites, I could advertise myself as a trans lesbian looking for another lesbian with the bonus feature of carrying about an always available strap-on.
This is how men can get around the quota’s that currently exist for women in fields they have been “under-represented”. Right now the UBC medical school is over 60% female and the moonbats actually brag about how they’re “righting past wrongs”. By becoming a legal woman (albeit a transgendered lesbian but that gets one bonus points in the arcane victim calculus used by moonbats), one can increase ones chances of getting into medical school in Canada. Similarly, one can go and get free mammograms and threaten any radiology techs that object to ones demand for a mammogram with HRC action. There are certain groups which are female only (despite the illegality of such groups) and as a legal woman one can become a member of such a group. If one wants to really push this to its limits, one can become a “female” olympic athlete and this would demonstrate the stupidity of Canadian moonbats to the whole world. Not sure if there’s women’s boxing in the olympics, but if there is, one would have an easy time of winning a gold medal in that event. One could also demand fertility treatments so that one could get pregnant. The best part of being a muslim female lesbian is being able to walk around in a tent with only ones eyes showing and waltzing through airport security with any manner of items stashed inside ones tent given the multiple taboos that would be broken if anyone dared to violate the “rights” of a privileged religious/gender group.
My advice is to not rant about this, but rather to embrace the possibilities one has in becoming a lesbian legal woman.
