Raw US HCN data matches RSS satellite US data very closely. This tells us that the raw data is fine, and there is no need to adjust it.
But the problem for NOAA is that the raw data doesn’t show any warming, which means no funding, so they cheat by cooling the past and warming the present. The next graph compares their tampered data with the RSS satellite data. The tampered data diverges from satellite data by 1.4ºC per century.

The quotes in the comment’s if accurate , are priceless.
Interesting linear regression on an 11 cycle sinewave
The love of money corrupts everything so the smart thing to do is make sure the money received by scientists stays the same regardless of their predictions.
Also when the models are proven wrong by actual measurements, those scientists who created the models should be demoted or removed from the public payroll and everything they have published should be retracted or edited to include a bold disclaimer on the front page.
Not just tweaking the data, rewriting history, but seriously; obsessing over temperature changes that are less than the error in the measurement system.
A change indistinguishable from the error range.
CAGW/CC aka panic of the week in weather..is built on statistical incompetence and fraud.
Well, the Italian government actually prosecuted a group of Italian geophysicists for being a little
off about a prediction of no earthquakes. They were headed for jail the last I heard.
The corruption of government scientific agencies is as bad as the corruption of judges. It strikes
a fundamental blow against our culture. These are people who have the task of measuring,
recording, and archiving basic environmental data.
Do they destroy their raw data, I wonder? I would guess that they do, just as the East Anglia
gang destroyed theirs.

I’m surprised satellite data has not yet been tortured, forced to confess, and submit to “adjustments”. Are there no computer modellers in Room 101? /s
I’d really like to give climate scientists the benefit of the doubt but they destroyed their credibility by aligning with politicians and crony capitalists.
Another problem in climate science is the same one being discussed in psychology and other social sciences – pressure to publish; negative results are difficult to get published which causes researchers to ignore or manipulate data; not enough replication to confirm published papers; and outright fraud. Despite how it is presented, climate science has more in common with social science than hard science. See Judith Curry’s blog to see how confirmation bias and motivated reasoning are found throughout climate science research.
The psychology paper I was referring to is here (pdf.)I found the conclusions highly relevant to climate science.

There are scientists (so called) whose income remains the same regardless of their predictions. They’re called “tenured professors.”
As soon as they get permanent job security, a good chunk of them give up any meaningful work in their field entirely. Teaching is palmed off on graduate students and adjuncts; the real bigshots often delegate even the research, with the “professor” doing nothing but signing his name to a paper written by assistants reporting irreproducible and often (as here) utterly fabricated results, and cashing the cheques that support him when he’s not on the eco-crank lecture circuit telling champagne socialists and banksters what they want to hear, that forcing the proletariat to accept Swedish taxes and “golden age” Romanian living standards—while banksters get to keep living like the Ceausescus in their salad days—is the only way to save the earth.
What you want is for the scientist’s pay to be related to real performance, much like it is for the charlady who cleans the professor’s toilet and the waiter who serves him his lunch. If charladies and waiters don’t deliver, they don’t eat. Why should scientists?
I know what I would do if I were king—force all professors and research staff at institutes recieving government money to re-apply for their jobs, as was done in east Germany after unification. No researcher known to have been affiliated with any left-wing or eco-crank organization would need to submit his name for consideration. Rest assured there would be plenty of unemployed PhDs, formerly used as cheap labour by tenured layabouts too lazy to do their own research, who would be overjoyed to replace them and do real research, ten times the quality at half the pay.
The Warmists do science the way Procrustes did hospitality.

Delightful parody…why not just send out demand letters “WE WANT YOUR MONEY!”

The moment politics infected western Universities in the 1960s is the moment they started to use research to sell a political agenda.. One can only imagine how intoxicating it must be to use public funds to push your leftist beliefs.. It is the best deal in the entire history of politics.. Force your opponents to fund their own demise..
Untouchable fifth column of useless louts! Media darlings because they all come from the same lousy place..
Maybe the Khmer Rouge were actually on to something?
Hmmm – you are speaking of former graduate students, also known as “slaves”? Unfortunately
the current lot are mostly unionized. As for recent unemployed Ph.D.s being better than their
former supervisors, don’t count on it. Everything in universities has been dumbed down, you
know. It is thought to be desirable that university graduate studies function as a kind of
sausage factory. Now I would not wish to compare recent Ph.D.s with sausages. I certainly
would not wish to do that. In Canada right now we are busy with the graduate education o
a large number of Middle Eastern students. Some are very nice, some are talented, but I
doubt that the Canadian taxpayer has that in mind when paying that portion of his taxes
which goes to higher education.
Anyway, the sooner that much university education is replaced by online courses the better.
Much smaller institutions which are centres for laboratory work, geological field work, etc.
will do very well; they will be much cheaper, and they will not be behavorial sinks teaching
students every form of degeneracy.
No, the Khmer Rouge did what all thugs do when they attain power: eliminate threats to that power. What, you think Andrew Breitbart just suddenly dropped dead for no reason? Or that his coroner dying suddenly a month later was merely coincidence? Or that Michael Hastings committed suicide-by-car? Or maybe that Alexander Litvinenko had a fetish for Polonium teacups.
