…big chunks of the system, including the payment mechanism for subsidies, haven’t even been built. So people can go to the [healthcare.gov] site, receive the illusion that they have obtained coverage, only to find that there is no follow-through…
If they can get to the site. Lots more at the link – and here.
It gets better – “No security ever built into Obamacare site”
Related– Jay Carney’s 7 minutes of hell.

I am not a crook.
I did not have sexual relations with that woman.
You can keep your plan.
I think Jay Carney is the spawn of Baghdad Bob (if not old Bob himself). How that clown can stand there and say some of the things he does is truly incredible.
“O_Crapulence_Care.gov” a site heavily ‘fixed’ in a rigged game…
Hah, so the NSA can spy on the entire internet, but the O_Crapulence_Care.gov has no security.
Two government organs failing spectacularly, that is truly, pretty rich!

“I am not a crook.”
Nixon, at least, had the grace to resign. And he did even not wreck the economic well-being and destroy the healthcare coverage of millions of Americans.
I miss Tony Snow.
Obamacare! The (comedic) gift that just keeps on giving (for Canadians).
I love it too when American commentators state the Canadian system
as the worst outcome they can see. There is no way that the present
US government would ever be able to negotiate a Canadian-style system,
not even if the US had only 10 states. After all, the Canadian system
(bad though it is) did require agreements between the federal government
and the provinces. With updates.
The next big laugh will be when the Americans attempt to fight a war
with their “pregnant soldiers” and their decapitated army. War is much
more a matter of training and discipline of the soldiers, and the will
and skill of its officer corps, than of sheer numbers. If we were to
invade the US (I don’t know why we would) I would imagine we would get
surprisingly far.
Canada needs nuclear weapons and we need them NOW.
Damn right, it breaks my heart that all that uranium in Northern Saskatchewan goes unenriched.
Perhaps we can buy some centrifuges from Iran, when they are done building their bombs.
Canada is missing the boat on nuclear energy, first nuclear icebreakers, imagine the stupidity of being unable to access our Arctic because we cannot resupply (fuel) icebreakers in the high arctic.
Second mobile nuclear power plants, no more damming rivers.Take the power plant to where you need the electricity.
5 in downtown Toronto will work for me.
When Canada negotiated healthcare with the provinces, it came with a big carrot. Obama came with a big stick. Canada provided big subsidies to the provinces while Obama showed up with a crock of crap.
kanada’s health care system was rated 29th by the UN a couple of years ago, and I doubt that the USA system will quit sliding when it hits that level, she’ll just go over the edge rite to 3rd world level
I can barely believe this myself, but America is getting a worse deal than we did from our socialist-communist crook Trudeau.
Its numbing to watch a Nation I have admired all my life crashing into a pit of totalitarian sewage ( we got more American history than Canadian when I was in school). The Constitution which since I was a kid old enough to understand with respect, is being torn to pieces before my eyes. By a rapacious Political class which seemingly has no differences but petty ones.
Its freedoms to be individuals torn away. From Private property to free speech.
Its status being besmirched world wide. The economy being purposely demolished.
all its Political institutions becoming a part of an Imperial Presidency. Breaks my heart.
I knew it would be bad under Obama , but not a total wipe out of a great Nation.
“Its numbing to watch a Nation I have admired all my life crashing” . . .
The long march of the ‘progressives’ (socialists/communists) begun in the ’60s, through the academic institutions, the courts, Hollywood and the music industry, and the media, is reaching its full fruition now. The children whose minds they warped for several decades are now more numerous than the older voters. A new crop of easily pliable, Democrat voters is also being garnered via Amnesty. The courts are almost completely leftist and make run-around decisions over the will of the people.
The collapse of the American Republic, long to build, is thus happening cascading-ly fast now as we watch in bewildered dismay. In the end, a few elites (no one can get anywhere in power now unless they’re grads from impossibly expensive Ivy League School or pliant Affirmative Action babies like Obama) will be on top and the rest of the Americans will be wage slaves for them.
Just the way the Party Members of the Commissariat, or the Aristocrats, or the Dear Leader and his friends, like it in other lands throughout history.
It’s all happened before in many other countries and societies that began with such hope, but yes, Revnant Dream, it IS sad to see it happen to America. I, like you, have respected and admired that country for years. But it has been done in by its unscrupulous elite who get to live in isolated conclaves, safe from the results of the policies they enforce on the rest of their countrymen. Just like England.
“I’ve lost hope. If it happens, great.” – Bob Shlora possible Obamacare subscriber.
Great quote. A lot of traditional Democrats must feel that way, but why that feeling is not being exploited by rational adults is a mystery.
Expecting the young and healthy to volunteer to pay for the old or lazy was a big mistake..
So Obama threw a party and nobody showed up.. Fearing bad press for Obama they pulled the plug themselves and they are going to keep working hard at working hard.. Spinning the technical difficulty snow job until there is a contrived opening for Obama to be the best President ever..
Yes, it is sad to see the nation collapsing from within.
A few minutes ago, I was watching the repeat of the Bill O’Reilly show and they had a clip of a black fellow talking to two other people (hosts?) on a another network. This fellow excused Obama’s lies because it was for the good of the people. Lenin thought the same thing, it was for the good of the people.
Saw that clip, too. They break eggs to make their omelette (the famous allegory possibly authored by Stalin), and then they eat the omelet. Nothing for the rest of us. Those lies will be for the good of no one but the liars.
Given the sheer size of the Obamacare legislation and the order-of-magnitude larger size of the regulations that go with it, I will not be surprised to find out in a few weeks/months that it is impossible to write software that complies with the law. All it takes is a few logical flaws to scupper it.
Unlike law, computer software has to deal with Reality.
