  4. They keep defining upward the standard for poverty. It’s a trick to keep a large, growing pool of voters dependent on government largesse and hence voting progressive. In the 19th C, they bribed voters with whiskey. That was outlawed, so now they bribe them with welfare. What these graphs don’t show is how much of the welfare expenditure is on administration costs and how that’s soared over time relative to the whole. My bet is that the administration costs are the fastest growing section of the total.

  5. Think of it as money well spent to prevent entitlement riots that will hollow out what is left of the inner urban blue states – check twitter on your ‘Bamaphone for the next scheduled zombie apocalypse.
    On looking at these charts I wonder if there is a correlation between the amount spent on education and the number of people on welfare benefits.

  8. Just wait until the full cost of Obamacare starts to kick in!
    I guess not one idiotic Democrat bothered to take even 5 minutes to look at Canada’s healthcare budget, and then extrapolate that to 10x the size to account for population, and then factor in a bit more to account for the fact that a large chunk of Americans are sadly overweight.
    Obama is *well* on his way to accomplishing his mission, which is to reduce the USA to a weak entity in the world, crippled by debt, overspending, over-regulation and racial tension.

  11. The current occupant of the White House is a complete and utter idiot, this being a medical condition, as opposed to an insult.
    Of course, opposition is nowhere to be found. The republicans are at best accomplices with some lip.
    As for the NSA, everybody knows you read this, get another job before the gig is up, they have a job for you in North Korea. If there is natural justice, you will die a slow and painfully demise.

To be fair here, if you actually do some of your own research and have critical thinking skills you soon discover that over 50% of the total stated by Sessions is healthcare and Medicaid related which primarily targets the elderly and disabled, not children. His staff also plays fast and loose with their definition of what constitutes welfare. Once you update the chart with these stats, it becomes quickly irrelevant, especially when you compare it to Canada with our own spending on Healthcare. It’s these stunts by the right that the left has a field day with, and why we will continue to have left leaning policies in the western world, due to the stupidity. There are other ways to get your message across without looking outright neanderthal.

  17. Romney was right again when he spoke of the 47%. I”m sure the majority of welfare is going to these folks…..and wait until Obamacare kicks in.
    Obamacare: “The means by which the Democrat Party forces Republican voters to pay the health care costs of democratic voters”
    That in a nutshell….is what Obomacare is all about.
    I’ll say it again…..if you are habitually on welfare, or other forms of Government assistance….you should not have the right to vote.
