Thank-you for that peterj and Kate – a sliver of sanity emerges from England, Could be something to do with the rise of UKIP – and the philosophy of UKIP. Much like the original Reform Party; very much like Ron Paul’s Libertarian beliefs.
Meanwhile Californica’s once majestic Altamont Pass is an eyesore/junkyard of abandoned bird killers…still killing.
Hawaii also has some extensive bone yards…monuments to folly.
Speaking of giant fans, I have a moral dilemma. This Saturday a 30 mile stretch of a major highway in Ontario will be shut down by anti-wind turbine protesters. I am 67 years old and have never participated in an act of civil disobedience in my life, but this could be my first. Do I join the protest or do I respect others who use this highway for personal and commercial purposes? The road connects to a major port of entry with the 3rd highest commercial traffic in Canada. Blocking the road will affect businesses as well as people getting to their jobs or simply traveling for personal reasons.
Is this a case of “not showing up at a riot is a failed conservative policy”?
What to do…..What to do…..
Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
Winston Churchill
