  1. Why don’t they just hand the title to Mexico and leave before they frig it up so badly the Mexicans don’t want it?

  2. The proper term to describe California politicians (and many others in other places), is Kleptocrat.
However, they were not put in their places by the one percent. The other 99% of us are getting the government we voted for. We get to feel slightly smug because in California they’re getting it a little harder.

  3. They get to be rich, smell nice, and save the planet, it’s just not fair!
And on that note how come the Liberal California rich get to mistreat little illegal Mexican’s as under the table slave labor in their homes and gardens while the rest of us are forced to pay FULL price for American labor?

  4. That headline needs fixing:
Electric car subsidies for the rich HAVE ALWAYS BEEN a drain on California’s budget.

  5. Victor Hanson maintains that the California coastal elites run the state very much for themselves – both their economic advantages, and their feelings of guilt. For the coastal elites, life is sweet indeed.
For farmers (which Hanson is), miners, industrial workers, and indeed for illegal immigrants, life is not so very sweet. In fact it is a hard grind.

  6. Someone once asked Rockefeller the Richest man on the planet at the time.
When do you think you will have made enough Mr. Rockefeller.
    He answered.
    Just a Little more….
To people like this even being God would not be enough.
Hence the entitlements. The Welfare corporations. The ever hungry poverty industry. The Ethnic equality crowd . Its why America was made a Nation of checks & balances for individual political accountability.
all gone now submerged into Collectivist castes. rules made to deflect any accountability to an individual.

  7. Rich people are the new royalty.. As such us common folk must pay our green tithe.. There is nothing new under the sun.. Why work when you can feed off the peasants?

  8. I published a photo of a Tesla car the other day and noted that my only complaint with it is that inevitably there are poor and middle-class taxpayers subsidizing toys for the rich. People seemed stunned that I would say such a thing. No one agreed with my comment. I guess for most people there’s no amount of government programs that they’re uncomfortable with. That’s sad.

  9. I had electric cars when I was 12.
Turned out that a buddy of mine had some too and the great idea of connecting our tracks together to make KWAT Raceways!!
From there, it was only a matter of getting some subscribers(kids to pay4play) between us and our imagined riches.
boohoo, didn’t happen…good thing we mostly only hurt for time invested+ a few materials. Not unlike our idea of building a submarine which ran afoul of the finding out the price of an electric marine motor.
(we were clearly determined to kill ourselves)
