  1. The author notes:

“One of the hallmarks of modern democracy is the independence of research within universities. We cannot have research being policed and censored according to the whims of political agendas just like we can’t allow our literature, art, film and other cultural outputs to be held hostage to a particular political party’s ideology. That is a dangerous slippery slope that moves us away from one of the basic principles of democracy: the separation of state and individual thought.”

No one is censoring a darn thing, they are just removing the taxpayer as the easy answer/ATM machine. Once upon a time research and “medicine were done off the backs of the taxpayer. Go find your own money from interested parties, LGB whatever can fund a paper on if their needs are being met during natural disasters. They aren’t because oddly the government is useless responding to natural disasters, unless of course they are Breaking into your home to steal firearms..that they excel at apparently.

  2. To summarize the key ideas in the original article: Elections aren’t meant to have consequences when someone who’s not on the farcical left is elected. All spending put in place by the left or the greens or the farcical left must continue forever, or else you’re a racist/sexist/homophobe/luddite/conservative (I know, synonyms to the left). No-one is as smart as us, so cutting our funding when we’re examining such world-shattering issues as how global-warming-will-kill-us-all-but-womyn-and-minorities-hardest-hit just goes to show how stupid you, you, you TAXPAYERS actually are.
(note: “taxpayers” should be stated as a term of condemnation and derision for full effect)

  3. Until today I had no idea that LGBTI people required different treatment in case of natural disasters.
I am just a bit wiser now.
God,I am sick of the “entitled”.

  4. Grants are really necessary only for people who are running laboratories, or for physical oceanographers who need ship time. For the rest, even for theoretical chemists and physicists, the grant-grubbing process is more of a nuisance than a benefit.

  5. Leftism and the liberal arts have weaseled their way into getting our tax base to fund their unfundable political projects.. Things like multiculturalism.. Make the entire tax base fund a political movement that benefits only them come election time..
Its parasitic politics that redirects funds into their pockets and these educated intellectuals are very very good at it.. They know what buttons to push and who to appeal to (liberal arts journalists) to sound the battle cry.. Daddy is cutting off our allowance.. If that happens our useless degrees really will become useless degrees..
So they all come out fighting with 100 reasons why right wingers should fund their political opposition..
Im wondering why my forced donations are not a tax write off? I guess that would be to obvious..eh

  6. Funding and academia have subverted the democratic process in the west.. Feeding on your opposition is not true competition.. It skews the optics, holding up and bring down to make double sure the liberal arts journalist can slip in their political point $$$..
They have turned democracy, our society, our media, our government into one giant socialist computer model.. Where the funds become the data and the media is the computer.. The outcome is no better than the climate models they love to cling to.. Garbage in garbage out..
