The Commissioner of Internal Revenue is a managerial position, not a policy-making one, although his input on the practical realities of tax collection and how the IRS is structured might well be very useful if the President was planning a big push on tax reform. But no such push has been forthcoming. Obama’s sole interest in the tax code has been to raise rates on high earners. I don’t know what all the investigations are for. Just listen to his speeches. Obama directed his minions to attack anyone that did not fully support his agenda. Talk about hiding in plain sight.
When I heard that testimony, I immediately wanted to know how often each and every previous president met with the person in that position. Could be this is normal, but yes, this was my exact question. Does the IRS need weekly guidance in how to implement the tax code? I highly doubt it.

The thing to remember about the Obama presidency is that it has nothing to do with the well-being of America and Americans. It is entirely and only about power.
In 2008, the Democrats thought, erroneously as it turns out, that it was about political power. The Democrats would win and would govern America within Democratic principles.
But they were ignorant, naive, stupid, arrogant- whatever term you want to use – and were instead themselves used by the Obama Gang (includes Valerie Jarrett, Soros, and etc). Obama’s agenda has absolutely nothing to do with America; in fact, he has nothing but contempt for the USA and its institutions, its laws, its Constitutions, its people.
Obama’s agenda is about power. His power. Period. To achieve and retain this power his tactics are to insert rules that give him full control of the people; such that they may not question, dissent, or reject His Will. His means of control was to establish a dependent population and a centralist controlling government (shades of all totalitarian rules?)
These tactics included his corrupt and costly Stimulus which was used to bribe the federal public service; his ObamaCare which was used to control the entire US economy from a centralist office; his denigration of the US as a foreign power; his allowing Russia to take that place; his strengthening of Islamic fascism; his destruction of the small private business economy. And, his removal of the power of dissent by dividing the population into adversarial identity groups: class warfare, gender warfare, ethnic and racial divisions and so on.
The 2010 elections, which the Democrats lost, showed that the people didn’t want the agenda of Obama. The reaction of the Obama gang was immediate. And hidden.
They began to use the federal infrastructure to remove the power of dissent from the people. That’s the current IRS scandal. It’s also the EPA – which was denied a mandate in Congress and Obama empowered them anyway to attack and demolish small businesses.
It’s also their relentless attack on a free press. It’s their endless campaigns against the Tea Party, FOX news, anyone who criticizes them. And Obama’s constant campaigning.
A vital agenda has been to increase the ratio of those dependent on federal govt largesse; these are all Obama voters by default. Obama has increased the ratio of people dependent on food stamps – with active campaigning to get people on them; increased those labelled as disabled; increased benefits and other govt largesse – all by increasing the federal debt more than any regime in the entire US history.
The 2012 election was a narrow win, achieved by never referring to the governing agenda (the economy, Islamic fascism, the massive debt) and by setting up those adversarial and dependent identity blocs – and- by controlling dissent (the Benghazi lies, the IRS campaign against conservatives, etc).
Now, I’m suggesting that it’s the Democrats who are in trouble. Obama doesn’t care about them; he’s in it only for Himself. Remember, he’s set up a private Obama-Party, which raises funds for HIM – not for the Democratic Party and which has a massive electronic data base of followers – and he doesn’t share this information with the Democratic Party.
So, what are Obama’s plans for himself? He has no interest in America other than to reduce its power and reduce the freedom of individuals. So, what’s his agenda?
And will the Democratic Party, which is now slowly waking up and realizing ‘they’ve been had’..will the Democratic Party take back control and remove themselves from the Obama sociopathy?

I think, as you have suggested, that a form of megalomania applies to Obama, as it had Stalin, Hitler, ect but how much is ideology steering it? Obama is furthering a Marxist ideology through what he is doing and he certainly behaves in a megalomaniacal way. I think one can make the case that now perhaps more than before, he is driven by his own narcissism more than political ends given that even his admirers are falling away. But one saw this with Hitler, as well.

Well I will entertain the top down management of this IRS bullying but I am very aware of the talent pool that the IRS employs. Critical thinkers, ethical folk are no doubt screened out right off the hop…then purged regularly.
With a workforce of “democrat”, big government, wealth distribution mentality, it is predictable that zealous elements will commit such outrages…..probably not an unintended consequence.
With such a setup, inspiration/incitement from the top is un-needed, but a degree of political cover is…and is in evidence.
