  4. Crock of bull. Him and his brother have been living too long in the U.S. to even remember or understand what was going on in Chechnya. They were small children at the time.
    The only way they could be radicalized is if they were continually indoctrinated since childhood while living in the U.S., or they were later radicalized as young adults in the U.S.

  9. Let us all think back to 9/11/01 for a moment. What newspaper had many columnists working for it who blamed America for the attack?
    Fast forward to now, they’ve just dusted off the playbook and flipped to page one to restart the whole farce again.
    The media coverage of NOTHING HAPPENING today has been excruciating. I flipped to MSNBC a couple of times to hear the same drivel from multiple interviewees, then went back to the dance music station when I couldn’t take it anymore.
    There’s no one to blame here so far, other than the two shooters. There’s no information we need to know right now. There’s nothing. What’s on the TV and the radio? Wall to wall nothing.
    Makes me happy I’m not paying for it.

The original headline is the usual boilerplate “progressive” excuse-making narrative to forgive, and borderline laud these murdering scumbags — sorry, ‘poor boys who could never fit in’ — and then the NYT can’t even come up with any credible evidence whatsoever in the creepy apologia that follows to back up the headline.
    The subtext is “look at me, look at how special I am, and how much progressive cred I have, for I not only forgive these murderers who killed other people’s family members and kids, and blasted off their limbs, I can understand why they did it: they simply felt they didn’t fit in, poor guys.”
    Yeah. Dzhokhar said “career and money” were the main things in life. People who “hung out and chilled” with the other guy said he was “a generally nice guy…just a cool guy.”
    “He was gracious..he never expressed any bitterness towards Russia or his situation.”
    Wrestling star, cool guy, chilled with people — and the NYT more than implies that these cold-blooded scums destroyed hundreds of people’s lives, more when you count family members, because they were “trying to fit in.”
    So many progressives, including at the NYT, are insane, and selfish. They forgive the lowest, vilest, most cold-blooded mass murderers of *other people*, including children, because it shows their own “tolerance” and “understanding.”

Redford would have his “progressive” moment, the staff of the NYT could write a sympathetic story, Justin Hairdo could bang on about “root causes” and the HuffPO could wax lyrical about the evils of capitalism. And sane people could sit back with a bag of popcorn and laugh.

  35. I’m watching this real time on Fox and they have been great at refraining from speculation reporting. Biggest problem is that stuff never happens between commercial breaks.
    Latest is the remaining bomber is wounded but still alive. He isn’t coming out but then again he hasn’t pulled the pin and blow himself up. Time and pain seem to have made his resolve a but softer.
    I would actually like him to get out alive if only to pick his brain to find out how(&why) this stuff unfolded. This kid was only 7 when he left the old country but his brother has been back and even was a subject of a FBI screening (asked by another country) and cleared. He had altercation with the law (domestic violence) while baby brother seemed to be going on the good path, being a citizen, getting a scholarship and all. I figure, for what its worth, big brother was a father figure to him and he was following kin.
    btw, why is daddy back in Russia???

  39. I can only buy 10% of the “official” narrative – these kids were prime for radicalization and manipulation by a number of radical special interests – who radicalized them and cui bono? That is the question and that is the issue avoided by MSM, the feds and the the fed camp followers.
    There is no doubt this has become a political event to steer policy.
    All evidence points to it being a Fed theatrical controlled bust gone wrong. It all depends on the second prime suspect surviving to testify.
    This will not be the last of these “crisis” during the term this administration,it’s just too good for the business of obliterating the constitution.
    Remember Boston (outside of a state of war) is in martial law lock down – unprecedented!!

    There is a reasonable explanation for most everything, except of course, the Obama admin. spin on events.
    The security people have long lists of people of interest, but once in a while they a err or are not able to predict their plans in time. Previously, the jihadi e.i. Times Square bomber, the jihadis have been caught in time or have been incompetent. Luck can’t hold for long, here it ran out.
    These two miscreants were very well integrated in American society, more so than many others. Deep Cover isn’t something that we usually associate with jihadis. This wasn’t that but close enough they got farther than anyone else since 9/11.
    If they’d had a dozen like them, we could have had, horror of horrors had another Beslan. (there is a bone chilling, heart rending documentary.)
    American’s are our cousins, kith and kin, we’ll face this war shoulder to shoulder as we have for a century.
    That the authorities didn’t trigger an extra level of scrutiny after the older brother left the U.S. and returned a few months later, is their mistake. But as there are 9 million Muslims in the U.S. keeping track of and ferreting out who to keep track of is quite a task.
    Many police departments in Canada purchased a $300,000+ armoured car for their SWAT teams. They don’t know, when or where, but they have figured the probability, the demographics have been the predictors elsewhere.

This is a “controlled crisis” a la Emmanuel Rahm’s famous quip, “Never let a serious crisis go to waste.” The authorities at every level made sure this was a “serious crisis.” They aided and abetted it by calling out hundreds of “responders” and by shutting down the whole city of Boston for two days for one 19 year-old on the lam. As you point out, “unprecedented.” Now, if they proceed with the “controlled explosion” of the 19 year-old’s apartment, evidence the government might not want to deal with will be obliterated. How convenient.
    This madness suits the purposes of a government that wants to take total control of its citizens. A serious crisis allows the government to take away citizens’ freedoms for their own good, dontcha know? Shut up and be grateful.

  46. Batb – that is a probable scenario that is developing. We see the White house staff ordering explanations from the FBI. Aparantly the FBI had been in contact with the brothers as early as 2011 – it seems probable they were another set of patsies being set up for an FBI bust. What happened?

I have no confidence in Zero’s handling of this bombing; ‘just a lot of crocodile tears and call-out-the-army optics to anesthetize the populace and to lull them into a false sense of security and gratefulness to the administration for their “astute” (sic) handling of this terrorist attack. (There were actually thousands of law enforcement officers on the ground trying to catch Tsarnaeva Junior.)
    Zero’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing who’s surrounded by a bunch of utter incompetents who, wittingly or unwittingly, will become facilitators of more terrorist attacks to come.
    We should be running for the hills, except there aren’t any hills to run to anymore.
