The fact is that for many of these apparatchiks on the Left, being elected as a politician is by far the best paying job they’ll ever have. And in almost all cases, they are wayyyyy over their heads.
If you’re old enough to remember, that’s almost exactly what W.A.C. Bennett said of the NDP quite a few decades ago: “They couldn’t run a peanut stand.”

I thought all the EU socialists were keeping Swiss banks busy with all their transfers – they all want out of country nest eggs so they can bail out when their corruption and stupidity collapses the economy – there’ll be a convoy of private jets leaving the Paris airport for points south.

Isn’t Senator Merchant the wife of Tony Merchant the supremo Saskatchewan lawyer under investigation for having a bank account in some off shore tax dodge?
Or how about our old liberal prime minister paul martian…registering Canada Steamship Lines offshore for tax reasons?
You can bet the house there are more. Hell if senate housing allowances and expense accounts push you over the edge like they have with Duffy and Wallin what it’s like with serious money?
And it is how socialism works. Socialists are elitists, they believe that they are superior to working people who feed them and the poor people. Socialists know that working people (people who work for or own businesses) will not vote to pay for both classes of parasites so they drag out the criminal element in the rich class and the infantile element in the poor. No thinking person wants anything to do with them, IMO.
