Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

FACT: Awesome sarcasm!!
Well the Venn diagram sealed it for me…lol…
Man, where do you dig up these persuasive Rhodes Scholar types?
Community College journalism drop-out lists?
Androgony Anonymous?
Wait! What? At 8:07 of this scree, he concludes that we ban guns, just like we banned drugs, which ended addiction.
I am particularly impressed that he reads history, that is probably where he learned to write “Nazis” as “Notcees”
Had me going until about the 3 minute mark. Well done LOL 🙂
Is this satire ?
Let’ see the “Notcees” also banned guns; but were mighty adept at using them.
Conclusion: This poor deranged, history challenged individual, who considers a sham Venn diagram as ‘proof’, is himself a fascist but he doesn’t know it yet.
When he comes out of his illicit drug induced stupor please let us know.
Cheers

Yes, the examples of the safe cities with strict gun laws.
I would appreciate it if some of you wise sages out there in cyber land would advise me as to how to respond to those who talk like this guy.
I have read Glenn Beck’s “Arguing with Dummies” and it doesn’t help.
Shall I call Ann Landers?
In case some people don’t see, this guy is being sarcastic.
He makes videos where he pretends to be a lefty twit and then when he fact checks things he ends up digging his own hole.
My favorite is still his endorsement of Ashley Judd for Kentucky Senate.
Its a satire people, and a good one.
It’s satire…respond by laughing…
HA!
Clinical trials have proven this man right. Don’t you worry you right wing radicals vee har jist startink… “There was a control group that was not stabbed, this group was merely punched. It didn’t matter if we punched them 2-300 times, all they experienced was bruising which shows us the effects of stab wounds are more physical than psycological.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQ7J7UjsRqg “Collins and her team hope to secure funding for future studies on the effects of bludgeoning and boiling”
Hahaha hyuk, he had me going until he started talking about the Vikings sailing around with flowers…..
So good I’m going back to watch the whole damn thing!

Yes……..his Ashley Judd video went viral….probably affected the second thoughts by her supporters..
“…Its a satire people, and a good one…”
If that’s the case, he’d better get his satire off the ground a bit quicker – I don’t have the time or tolerance to go past the 40-second mark with this guy.
well Jamie, I haven’t watched it yet and I knew it was satire because of the Ashley Juggs video he did, try keeping up!!!!!!
Sadly, I’ve worked with lots of people who sound exactly like this — but for real, and not as satire.
An example: was at lunch with one such type and asked him who described Obama as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean”. The cow-orker assumed Bush had said this, so I asked him to Google it on his iRape phone (thank-you Ms Judd). When he saw that it was Biden, he refused to believe it: “I cannot believe that Google is racist!”
Considering that these people are turning into parodies of themselves, I can see why some people miss the satire here.
“…I knew it was satire because of the Ashley Juggs video he did, try keeping up!!!!!!”
Damned work and sleep…interferes with things. 😉
People who wear baseball caps indoors are morons.
Listened to two minutes of this idiot, and my theory was confirmed.
This guy must be Steven Crowder’s brother from a different mother.
Now listen here fin boy. Keep outa the family history, Eh!

Actually, the guy is brilliant.
http://www.pkwy.k12.mo.us/west/teachers/gerding/satire.pdf
Quote: “Since most satires depend upon a certain awareness
in the reader (awareness of events, of literary models being satirized, of irony working in the
language), skillful satires tend to require a certain sophistication in the readers or viewers. A
person insensitive to levels of irony in language will normally find satires difficult to follow
(unless the irony is very obvious).”
Well I hate to say this, but people who thought this wasn’t satire, well, I will stop there. Perhaps listen again, please.
Speaking of satire, did everyone see the Great Communicator today at the Abbas press conference? He was satirizing a President of the United States. Without a teleprompter this man has no thought processes at all. He could hardly put a thought together. What a fake. I wonder what the MSM will report on his performance…Not much I would think.
If that wasn’t satire, I just plain give up on the next generation!
WOW
@ Jamie MacMaster
>>If that’s the case, he’d better get his satire off the ground a bit quicker
The very first thing he says is:
“FACT: 100 percent of shootings… involve guns.”
That told me right there that it was gonna be a satire. And that was in the first 5 seconds.
It’s hard to believe how many people are missing the very obvious satire!
“…That told me right there that it was gonna be a satire…”
I’ve heard too many putzes saying the same kind of crap, and they were being serious.
valid point
That is great. Thanks Robert.
Thanks to political correctness & our supreme court, satire is banned, thats why people who are so slow to catch it.
Damning with faint praise is a tool we should use on Libtards more often.
I have noticed I can derail the group think at public meeting by agreeing with their idiocy and proposing we take it to its next logical step.
Not bad satire. It doesn’t say much that so many took it seriously – bullets being much more dangerous when fired from a gun than when hand-thrown – Genghiz Khan engaging in peaceful debate – 100 countries with stricter gun control but higher murder rates than the US and that being just 1% of the total number of countries (the number of states in the UN is about 190) etc. – the Crusaders invading Egypt etc. In fact this guy is so deliberately bad he just might be offered a job as Obama’s speechwriter.
At the 2 minute mark I figured it was either satire or the guy was a nutcase. Thanks to those who have watched the whole thing and verified the satire hypothesis. What clued me in to the higher probability of satire was the peaceful nature of the gun-free Genghis Khan, and the nice peaceful Vikings.
While not directly connected to this topic, I’d advise anyone who cares to create a satirical document to WRITE it, don’t make a U-tube video. I don’t generally watch video’s as I can read everything this guy had to say in less than 30 seconds compared to the agonizing 8 minutes that it takes to say it. I don’t have 8 minutes to waste on low information content media and I read very fast. At this point I have a hard time sitting in one spot for 20 minutes to watch a 20 minute Big Bang Theory episode without starting to write a program during one of the slow sections of the show.
As I’ve mentioned before, I enjoy Captain Capitalism’s writings but I need to consume a bottle of tequila to slow my brain down enough to sit through one of his agonizingly long rants — I’d much prefer to read it. It may be that the art of reading is one of the things that has been lost in the dumbing down of America. It’s ironic that even though we have very fast internet now, the true information content of much of the material is less than that of a 1960’s radio program which was transmitted over just a fraction of the bandwidth.
one thing for sure, with nut jobs like this the world won’t be a better place anytime soon.
Evil exists and there will be nut jobs useing guns for bad things till the end of time.
banning guns will only help the bad guys.
i agree with the nra, the only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.
a good judge, rope and tree, won’t do any harm either.
To all you all who never realized the satire of this video, please keep all future comments to yourself. The internets is only for smart people…
Satire? OOOOKAYYYYY. I made it to 0:49.
That was enough.
Sorry, I’m with some of the other posters here. This is very poor satire at best. I’ve seen much better examples.
Indeed my first impression was that the guy was high, and I’m not sure I’m wrong on that point.
I think Jamie’s point really nails it.
Satire has to move a bit more quickly than Mr. baseball hat.
I agree with Dr I…very quickly, and in writing.
Excellent vid and if you didn’t get it……well….what can I say.
One of the features of satire is that it should appear, to those whom you are ridiculing, that you are on their side, while being evident to others that you are not.
Seriousley guys, it took 1 seconds to figure out it was satire. Go have some more coffee.
Dig, TJ! Dig!
I use to live just west of West Baltimore. I’m glad it hear it is much safer than it was 15 years ago.
Minuteman said: “…it took 1 seconds to figure out it was satire.”
It took me a little longer, because I have heard the whole first thirty to forty seconds of that presented seriously. At an AMA medical conference in Philly back in 1995 or so. I’ve seen papers in JAMA containing illogical stupidities worse than that. I’ve talked to people who think the Middle Ages were a more peaceful and better time than now.
What’s revealed here is how difficult it has become to satirize the American Left. As Nemo2 said above, or quoted anyway, satire requires a certain grounding in Reality(tm). You can’t really do it very well to people who willfully believe as many as six impossible things before breakfast every morning, and for whom logic is an impediment to their argument.
Ken Finney said above: “FACT: 100 percent of shootings… involve guns.” See, my point is… that isn’t satire. Its a QUOTE. From a speech Sarah Brady used to give.
What we need to encompass, ladies and gentlemen, is the fact that we Conservative types are having our @sses kicked in the political arena by people who say things like “100 percent of shootings involve guns” in a serious speech with a straight face.
Gunney 99 said: “I would appreciate it if some of you wise sages out there in cyber land would advise me as to how to respond to those who talk like this guy.”
I claim no wisdom or sagacity, but that is the $64,000 Question isn’t it? Public ridicule seems to have no effect on them at all, and they can’t be argued with. Rational argument with a willfully irrational person, a person who rejects logic and objective fact, is impossible.
Since we know that “not showing up to riot is a failed Conservative policy”, maybe we should start punching these people in the face and taking their wallets every time we meet them. Just because we can.
Remember, hippie punching is never wrong.
Besides, there’s no hawk so fierce as a Liberal who’s been mugged. We can probably double the ranks of militant Conservative gun owners this year with a few well considered beatings.
(Disclaimer for the Liberal speech crime monitors out there, the above comment employs a literary device known as “hyperbole”, and is not an actual exhortation to violence.)
Wonder if anyone has ever done a study on the relationship between smuggery and anonimity?
That guy is good. He also has one out about why he is voting for Ashley Judd.
Here another guy who does this sort of thing and he is excellent. Check it out.
