  1. It’s not insanity and it isn’t a case of mistaken arithmetic. This is evil genius type stuff. When you KNOW that your core (viewers or voters) will take that information AS IS, believe it whole heartedly, and set about to convince a bunch of their peers who don’t know any better that it is true.

  10. To a Leftist, math is a matter of opinion. As this was aired last week, I wonder if he corrected himself on a subsequent episode. In any event, even if he was confronted, he would yell some obsenity, blame it on Bush and never fess up to his own stupidity. Arguing with a Liberal is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, crap on the board and strut around like its victorious.

  11. The accuracy of the numbers is irrelevant! It is the emotional impact of their words that is important. That impact will stay long after any grumbling half hidden “correction” that no one sees or hears.

    Maxine Waters: 170 million Americans will lose their jobs due to current sequester.
    The progholes design their comments for maximum impact, not accuracy. As they beleive they are the only ones smart enough to run our lives then their lies are OK as, in their minds, they are actually for our own “benefit”.
    The fact that these people aren’t mocked out of the public square terrifies me.

  18. This is impossible to ascribe to incompetance, when considering the quantum of like pronouncements….IT IS MALICE!
    First and foremost is the simple fact this is not a cut in spending but rather a reduction in the increase of spending.
    Layoffs of border agents and cancelling USN deployments/sailings are totally un-neccessary because they ARE funded….because there is no cut to spending just a reduction to increses.
    It’s doesn’t arise to the level of sophistry….it’s just Bravo Sierra.
    Wadda ya expect when the media needs cigarettes and cuddles after the “won” gives a speech?

  23. The comment from Markon is spot on. They make shit up, usually to the detriment of the right. They know they will never get called on it, and if they do, it is quietly corrected in the night. This pattern is increasing with frequency, removing all doubt that it is an anomaly but a Democrat strategy that has gone mainstream.

    And yes, I do believe Ed Schultz IS stupid enough not to know that 30% of three and a half trillion is more than 85 billion. If you put it in scientific notation for him his tiny head would likely explode.
    I mean, Eddy makes his money shilling for people who are trying as hard as they can to destroy the country HE lives in. Don’t come much stupider. That’s dumber than a bag o’ hammers.

    They probably should not bother as a certain segment of viewers are only watching for the comedy of brain dead stupid.
    MSNBC,CBC and CNN are human comedy at its finest, no laugh tracks, no script, just the dance of the zombies writ large.

  27. Dunno John, personally I’d sooner watch paint dry than watch CNN. More informative. If you watch CNN for ten minutes you’re actually less informed and a bit dumber than you were before. Paint doesn’t do that.

  28. This is exactly what I was getting at in my initial comment, Markon. And no, I don’t think it is incompetence (Stan Vinson) although I do love that quote. I think there are too many examples of people on the left making these “mistakes” in their public statements. The statements are meant to illicit an emotional response. Like throwing a firecracker at someone from behind and when they jump at the sound of it exploding, telling them that the sky is falling. Schultz’s audience will not look around for the evidence of the sky falling, they just commence doing the Chicken Little.

  34. For the record the cut – using Ed’s numbers is 2.4% for the year. that’s about one day of govt spending in a business day year.
    And the “cut” is actually just a decrease in the growth rate. and the total amount in either case is far above the level of govt spending – even adjusted for population growth – than it was before Obama became POTUS.

A few moonbat MSM figures hanging by the neck from lamp standards might suddenly make a few of the others decide that perhaps it might be worthwhile learning math (about as likely as pigs flying given their IQ levels), or to find someone who actually knows something about math to check their numbers.

Cut it by TWO THIRDS and it would take the budget ‘waaaaay back into the dark ages of… 2002. When Bush spent a trillion and a half.
