Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Canada’s politics have historically been defined by nepotism and an inbred leadership stock, from the family compact to the Powercorp PMs/Premiers to the incestuous Librano coronations. Why change that now.
You amuse the entire twitterverse. Love it~
Now does this make the lady Justin’s illegitimate step-mom? It all harks back to “I’m My Own Grandpa”.
truely sad when the best circus in town also hppens to be one of the main political partys of a country!!!
Or wuz it a stray tadpole of a Stones rocker? IQ wise, what’s the dif?
This sounds like the plot of a Greek tragedy.
Then there is Justin’s alliance with an Indian Chief in a teepee,
while on a hunger strike for three weeks, stays as plump as ever.
His other alliance is with the Saracens of the curved swords,
Then he offers to take the voters on a Persian magic carpet ride.
Oh, the Mysteries that abound in the land of Canuckistan.
SDA commentators may now adopt the role of the Greek chorus.
As for me and my house, we are riding, riding hard to Narnia.
I think this belongs under “honey, I finished the internet”. Bunny show jumping.

If anyone here watched the LPC leadership debate on CBC,of course, it became obvious they had nothing to say except to bash “Harper”. They are gonna house the homeless, interact with First Nations to help them sustain a sustainable industry on their lands, and just fix all the things that awful Harper has neglected all these years.
I heard every f***ing cliche in the liberal lexicon, and came away with the impression that Thomas Mulcair and the NDP have nothing to worry about from the Liberals.
The NDP would have to be extremely stupid to imagine that gang of third-raters has anything to offer THEM.
so 25% of the candidates are directly related to PETs donk .
why do 100% feel like we’ve been done by it?
Dmorris, exactly, and it was the same on SunNews.
I finally ran out of puke and read a number of pages in a new book I recently purchased, a divisional history of the 23rd Panzer Division, From the Caucasus to the Austrian Alps. Much more enlightening.
Kinda like….if a husband and wife, in some back woods area, get a divorce are they still brother and sister?
We WANT the Libs the Greens and the NDP to all get more powerful. That will guarantee another Conservative majority government.
dmorris said: “The NDP would have to be extremely stupid to imagine that gang of third-raters has anything to offer THEM.”
You know, I do agree with you that the Libs are third rate. At best. And they are -crooked-.
But even third-rate Shiny Pony the substitute teacher is head and shoulders above the NDPee. Shiny Pony is a d1ck, and not too bright His party’s policies are all strictly amateur hour GimmeGimme trade unionist crapola or flat out thievery. But he does live in the Real World with the rest of us. A grifter, but realistic.
The NDPee are all completely crazy. They would shut down the oil sands and put us all into poverty to stave off global warming. They would shut down the mines and stop the logging to save Gaia and Bambi. For real, they would do that.
Because what the Liberals lie about and use as strategy and tactics, the NDPee believe with all their credulous little hearts.

Confused?
I’m my own grandpa
Yes, creepy about the tangled relationships and all that, but here is my overall response to their performances —
Trudeau was better than I expected.
Joyce Murray is a total flake.
Cauchon is completely out of touch with the current reality of the Liberal party.
Mcrimmon and Findlay are both pretty good.
If the Liberals are smart — Garneau is the guy. They are not smart.

Exactly why I am fleeing, running for my life out of BC.
The inmates are about to take over the nuthouse in 2013.
Crispy Christie Clark is a cookie in the cookie Monsters mouth, I’m afraid.

Nepotism along with cronyism are as Canadian as hockey. We all know it because it is standard at our jobs operating procedure.
Its not only amoung the Indians, its the leading way of life here for anything from Law to Janitor jobs.
Yeah, Joyce Murray is one lame brained piece of work, her hatred for PM Harper is her only qualification, she hasn’t got a chance in hell even for the leadership of the turd party.
Tweet of the year.
Well, dmorris, to be able to sit through that pestilence is evidence that you`re made of pretty sturdy stuff. I, on the other hand, literally cannot physically watch them anymore, because of the visceral reaction I have to them (nausea and a skin sensation like ants crawling).
You`re right, of course, about the NDP — so long as it doesn`t second-guess itself. The Liberals, like the narcissistic generation now making its way through the education system (you know, those youth who think they`re the most gifted in history, but nevertheless achieve the lowest test scores in history), hold absolutely everyone else in abject contempt. And, in accordance with which sense of moral and intellectual superiority and entitlement, they will never, ever enter into a merger that they do not control (regardless of how junior a prospective partner they are).
Which is why they`ll go for Trudeau, and why any sort of rapprochement between them and the NDP will never happen. In their collective delusion, which apparently involves not having even the foggiest inkling about how ungainly and unseemly — downright weird, actually — it is to have both Deborah Coyne and Justin Trudeau in the race, they actually believe that having Justin as their leader, given his `optics` and all that, will put them into a position where they can pull all the strings of a left-centre construct.
Fortunately, neither of the parties to the merger that created the Conservative Party suffered from that kind of pathology — which explains not only where we are today, but it sheds a great deal of light on the question of who are the truly reasonable and well-integrated people in Canadian politics.
Okay Frank Q….you owe me one keyboard and associated chriopractor costs for sore ribs!!! Thanks for the morning laugh.
Ken The Kulak, details on that book please, I want to find a copy.
I thought that Marc Garneau might be semi-competent but all he says is Liberal rhetoric about the evil Harper. The guy has no ideas or imagination to run a country and might actually be as stupid as Trudeau. The leadership is a scam. They are all lined up on their knees ready to welcome Justin to the leadership. Actually criticizing Trudeau might bump them off the Liberal gravy train.
Gotta love that J.T. for Lieberal leader!!
Why you ask?
To quote Jessica Rabbit…”he makes me laugh…”
TheTooner, try this site. http://www.jjfpub.mb.ca/
But you gotta remember he did go into space,he mentioned it in his speech in case people forgot, that’s his claim to fame and in the LPC that should count for something.
The liberal party is comprised of the pasty faced ole white boy’s club, sure they let women in but we’re just window dressing. Just another exclusive club for the silver spoon crowd of elites.
OK, Kate. That Twitter’s the reason for your ip deny problems!
(What do I know? Your Twitter’s priceless — but I’m sure the Leftards don’t see it that way!)
I somehow have found myself on a Liberal Party mailing list. I have heard from all the Liberal leadership candidates, by email. Not one has an idea, of any sort. The rhetoric is always framed around the unstated hypothesis that the CPC is doing a bad job and is not forthcoming about what it is doing. Let us say that the bumpf makes Obama sound brilliant.
It was a little sad that this also holds for Deborah Coyne. I find her a somewhat sexy nerd, and I like sexy nerds – as evidently did Pierre Trudeau. I suppose she can think, and that the Liberal Party apparatus has sprayed her with a stupid-making chemical. It is closely related to their corruptifying enzyme. Maybe for intelligent people it is a two-stage process: first the stupidifying, then the corruptification. But the process doesn’t seem to work on most of the electorate, though it has been effective on the MSM.
Possibly Ernst Rebentisch’s “The Combat History of the 23rd Panzer Division?”
I have just purchased it from Amazon.com.
We Canadians, for all our reputations as dull, can also put on a pretty good murder!
John, yes, that is it. I did not realize that Amazon also carried it. I checked and Fedorowicz http://www.jjfpub.mb.ca/ apparently is out of stock on this book and it has become even more pricey. The price for the last two copies they had was $150. It is over 500 pages of day to day diary complete with maps and many photos.
For some unknown reason,JL,I’m also on their E-mail list, so I carefully read everything they send, might as well know what the other side are doing.
But, as you said, they don’t inspire much confidence, don’t have much to say.
I’d rather have the old Liberals of John Manley’s type in Opposition than the current NDP,but this new bunch of Liberals are distressingly uninspiring. I’ve read all their CV’s and Hall_Findlay has some good credentials, has at least some business experience, but the rest run from silver spoon socialists to political hack to latte socialists, not a lot to choose from.
It’s all academic, the LPC is going to crown Trudeau, the “debate” was just window dressing.
From a renowned political Party and powerful electoral machine, the LPC has degenerated to a Fan Club.
