Best Canadian Blog
2004 - 2007
Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Good for Beck and his attempt to combat the Godless Marxism trying to take over America.
Glen Beck is the Lefts worst nightmare someone who hit rock bottom survived and went forward. So no matter what they throw at him he will not quit and worse he fires right back.
The anti Beck crowd has lost its moral anything. They are so screwed up that you have gay people supporting Palestine against Israel to their own destruction.
I is amazing when hate becomes so ingrained that you side with the side that wants to kill you and fight against the side that gave you freedom.
The world is becoming one big Gotham City.
I particularly love the way, even Beck’s name can bring on a frothing rage. Its one of my amusements at family gatherings to point out, Beck gets more people to attend his events than Obama.. of course, I’m always served last..
I love those protesters who chant,”what do we want?….Peace! When do we want it ….NOW!”
They mean,”what do we want?…Tyranny? With US in charge….now !”
So Beck’s become an evangelist. Good. Let’s hope he can make life uncomfortable for the Left.
and I’ll bet he didn’t even mention Obama once during the whole event.
Those people protesting didn’t realize they were protesting such a wholesome message.
But then again, it IS Westboro Baptist and the Leftist Lunatic fringe who were protesting. They are against anything good.
All that’s missing is the sharkskin suit.
I have a copy of Arguing With Idiots on my desk at work. It sits right below the ticket stubs for O’Reilly and Miller from last May in New York that are pinned to the cubicle wall. Drives my lefty boss (and his lefty boss) crazy.
I think he’s just an opportunistic attention whore, myself. Kinda like the right’s Bill Maher (well, maybe not that bad). But if the WBC is protesting him, he must be doing something right.
Beck’s message is libertarian. You don’t need the state involved in all the ponzi schemes and entitlement ventures which were predicated on the safety net but inevitably evolved into the welfare/nanny/political statism that is destroying western civilization. His message is that citizens should step forward voluntarily as individual Christians (or otherwise) and re-establish the safety net at the local level with no involvement of the state.
Whether or not his message is successful in turning the US around or as a historical postscript for a future phoenix event, I think he’s on a heroic mission.
The fact that the press had to pick the Westboro Baptist Church for “balance” is rather entertaining. They try to show Beck as irrational by contrasting him with the truly insane.
The lazy left hates Beck because he reminds people that they must work hard, sacrifice and if need be to “do without” in order to stand on their own two feet. Beck also reminds people that no matter how little they have they have a DUTY, that the creator says MUST be met,to look after those who legitimately cannot look after themselves. The left wants to convince a certain pro-democratic voting block that there is more dignity in a welfare check than a check for working at McDonalds. The left cannot put up an argument to counter Beck’s message so they and the lap dog MSM call him crazy and make it about he messenger while totally avoiding the message.
Great to see – thanks for posting this. EyesWideShut – thank you for your insight. It is not enough to point out the obvious flaws in the leftist agendas. We also need to show what we love and stand for. For those with enough integrity to listen to Beck for themselves, rather than blindly accept the MSM mantra, his positive words will speak for themselves. We on the right are not just AGAINST things, we are against them because we are FOR other things, things that may be mocked in popular entertainment, but have a certain resonance with anyone willing to be honest in their own hearts.
I recently watched an episode of the HBO series “The Newsroom”.
Glenn Beck, Michelle Bachman, Rush Limbaugh were slandered in the efforts of the show writers to lionize the mainstream TV news media. There was a lot of time and effort put into smearing conservative blogs and networks. Basically the entire premise of the show is to show how the liberal media are the good guys and really really smart.
The capper was the dramatized coverage of the Giffords shooting where the fictional news network “bravely” holds back from releasing a premature and false report on the death of the congress woman.
robins111 @ 11.52 am, we’re on the same page, there’s always someone in my family that starts with the “but Bush!” and my counter often starts with, “but Bush really loves his country, and Sarah does too” … I’ve gotten used to being served later in the food line.
My father told me in the middle of the last US election that Sarah just wasn’t that pretty. Words failed me. We try to avoid politics until at least dessert is served.
Marc, wanna really have some fun, claim the CBC is reporting Justin came out of the closet and is gay..
Yes robins111, yes I want to have fun. 🙂
In the 1972 federal election, Justin’s dad, PET kissed my mom on the cheek, along with some other’s. I’ve asked her since if she uses a special cream to prevent cancer from growing there, or if she just keeps that side out of the sun. She laughs, my dad doesn’t.
seriously.
Come ta think about it….
The LIBARANOs hereabouts seem to smoke dope or pub crawl…..except the back line types who are TT and attend the United Church…….but they’re mostly dyin’ off…….
Beck’s not that much of an evangelist but rather a cheer-leader of values…IMHO…
He’s still a rodeo clown….guard…sheepdog…
Too bad Glen does not support the rational, Conservative, Libertarian Ron Paul. Guess he cannot do that working as he does for Bain Capital – the Progressive, Romney, owns Conservative talk show hosts and Fox news. The Republicans choose a bland, mealy mouthed Obama-Lite to run against the Commi in office. The support for Romney, from Beck and others, defies the philosophy that they claim to cherish – they slam the only hope for America (Ron Paul) yet steal his words and ideas to support Paul’s polar opposites: Romney/Obama.
I used to trust Beck – I don’t trust him at all anymore because he lacks the spine to go against the source of the $$ that keep him rich. Men who put personal wealth and security ahead of Principle/Liberty are not to be trusted, IMO.
Glenn.
Jema54,
Have you heard him talk about Romney and Ron Paul?
He’s made fun of Romney, and has repeatedly stated that he wasn’t his first choice.
The only reason the sharkskin suit is missing is that Obama stole it for the dem convention in Sept.
OMMAG,
I do not have HBO but I saw a preview of that show.
I was sure it would be exactly what you described.
Another tv show that turns reality on its head to better brainwash people into believing leftism is doing good things to our civilization.
The brainwashing from the leftist establishment is going full throttle; is it because they are realizing they are losing disciples? ( leftism is a religion so yes they are disciples )
I wish there was more evidence our side is gaining ground…but then again I am a bit of a pessimist at times…
Let me fix that for ya, Jemma:
“Too bad Glen does not support the rational, Conservative, (and bat shit crazy) Libertarian Ron Paul.
Face it, he’s Ross Perot without the twang.
Carry on.
Ron Paul has been around for a long time, Eskimo. Ron Paul has been in congress as a Republican, for a long time – 1st elected in 1986 – Ron Paul was the renegade congressman who defied the ‘establishment’ and backed Ron Regan. Ron Paul is a strict Constitutional Republican – Mitt is a Progressive. Ron Paul got a bill passed to audit the Fed – Mitt Romney passed gun legislation to limit gun ownership, Mitt R. approves of TSA, Ndaa, He wrote Bama care in Michigan and he stated himself that he was not a Regan Fan, rather he stated that he, Mitty, was a Progressive.
Would you vote for Mitt/Barak?
In Canada, I would have never voted for Belinda Stronich or Prentice, had one of them won the Conservative leadership. I would have spoiled my ballot or voted for the Christian Party.
Two wrongs never make a right.
The soldiers support Ron Paul, he has more support that all of the others (Demos and Republicans) put together. People should ask themselves why that might be, IMO.
Beck is good when he talks politics.
It would be better if he stopped talking religion.
You see, religion is for the sanctuaries of the temples.
If he wants to be evangelist, OK, just don’t do both at the same time.
It is unseemly.
Just ribbing you, jema. While I never liked Prentice and even less so Stronach, I’d have voted for either to keep the Libranos out. Another 4 years of Kinsella’s gloating?
Romney may be a soft conservative, but handing the keys to the White House to a Marxist radical for a second term is foolish to say the least.
I really believe this ay be the last chance for the US. Even with Romney at the helm, it may take incremental steps, much like done by Harper during his minority status.
Ron Paul may have been around for quite some time and wears his policies on his sleeve. So did Preston Manning. It never got him the keys to 24 Sussex. Harper did by playing slow and steady rather than slash and burn, something the elder statesman Manning never heeded. Remember when there was a near mutiny if Manning didn’t get his makeover to make him more prime time pallatable?
Yes. In fact he is the crazy one. You just don’t see it, because, well, you’re too busy worrying that there are Marxists hiding behind each corner.
Eskimo – Presto ‘went over’ when he moved into Stornaway and accepted the gold plated pension the Liberano’s, Dippers and Blocistas dreamed up . All Reform M.P.s accepted that pension except Mr. Schmitt (Kelowna). PMSH worked for the taxpayers association, at that time. It was not until Reformers begged him to run for Leader after the tarring and feathering of Stockwell Day – by Reformers,PCs, Liberanos and MSM – that PMSH went back to politics. PMSH wrote the original Reform Party platform, he is not like Mitt, PMSH is like Ron Paul. The only hope for citizens in America is a leader like PMSH, IMO.
John,There is a Marxist around every corner, especially in Hollywood and the newspaper industry. The Brits sent a bunch of them over to influence the American people to not just fight Japan but to fight Germany also.McCarthy was right, thats why he was vilified and he was vilified by the best propaganda machine in the world. The Soviet Union. They even won the Viet Nam war for the North Koreans.North Korea thought that they had lost till they read the American newspapers.
