Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I sometimes wonder if any of these people who think streetcars are good idea …. actually live or work in TO …. I have and the last time was from 2000 to 2003.
Even though I basically only had a ten minute walk from condo to office it was painfully obvious what a mess the streetcars made of the traffic. Forcing traffic off the surface streets and on to the expressways or forcing huge delays … or forcing people to stand around hoping they can get on one of the damned things.
Queen … King … Dundas …. madness.
The subway and the GO were the only public transit that made sense … and probably still do.
The marxists will politely cite that IQ study as they calmly load you into the rail car.
Looking at the NOW logo, it’s got a line over the top of it.
In Boolean algebra, a line over the top of something means it is the opposite of what it is.
So, it really means NOT NOW.
The cover is not even funny.Seriously?
Not a bit.
Subtle message there, low lifes at NOW. That cover is repugnant.
Are’t the socialists/fascists warm and fuzzy characters?
I believe it was Mark Steyn who has spoken about the fantasies Leftists had about murdering George Bush. I have zero doubt that more than a few in Canada have the same about Stephen Harper. So this pathetic photoshopped image and dreadful article about Rob Ford is pretty much par for the course.
Just further evidence that Leftism lies somewhere between a religious cult and mental disease.
Such a photo and accompanying headline would lead one to conclude that the publications readership is experiencing a sharp decline. As the old adage contends, desperate times call for desperate measures. An immature and feeble attempt to create some “buzz”.
Is joe, Adam Jamabonee?
City leftards like street cars here because they hate cars.
They know street cars mess up traffic worse than anything else, so they like that.
StClair is ruined forever thanks to Adam Giambrone’s utter stupidity. Thankfully he got caught banging his underlings.
The City leftards here in Toronto are violently pro bike and will do anything for bike lanes and reducing car traffic.
Toll roads, reducing truck idling, speed bumps, tearing down the Gardiner, anything. Getting cars off the downtown streets entirely is their goal, public transit is second.
I just spoke with one of the members that was headed to Ottawa to be part of the PM’s bodyguard. A good lad!! If they’re all like him, PMSH is in very capable hands. I hope Mr. Ford has good people around him too.
Typical leftist “civility”. Do the exact same Photoshop with Obama and they’d scream blue murder. Then put the 2 Photoshops side by side, and they’d look at you blankly and say, “Oh but that’s DIFFFERENT!!!”
Idiots.
Hey remember when NOW was jumping on the whole “civility” bandwagon in the wake of the Gabrielle Giffords shooting?
Yeah, apparently neither do they.
In the last United States congressional election, Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin marked Democrat-held electoral ridings with shooting range targets. Civility was so toxic President Barack Obama gave a speech about better respect for partisan opponents – this coming after Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head and her supporters killed.
Compare that to anything in Toronto… well, you can’t. It doesn’t compare.
St Clair Ave? I used to live on St. Clair at Dufferin. Those big red streetcars are frickin’ LOUD at night.
Traffic? To go from Dufferin to the Loblaws at Avenue Rd. took half an hour in the car. On the streetcar it took 40 minutes. Its only two miles. You can WALK faster than the streetcar, and I frequently did. Bicycle was fastest of all, took ten minutes. It took that long because of the traffic lights they have every hundred yards, and the parked cars trying to kill you by opening their door just as you ride up. Pulling out without looking was popular too.
That was in 1991. Twenty years ago. Things are -much- worse now. You could improve traffic immeasurably by simply parking all the streetcars, banning automobiles altogether and GIVING everybody in 416 a free bicycle. It would be cheaper too.
Best of all, the stupid, Greenie loving, socilaist voting b@st@rds would be re-introduced to -winter-. How long before Ford’s subway was hailed as a work of genius? Right after the first snow would be my bet.
