  1. or it could be an icicle . . don’t you love it when global warming is so obvious that even the Deniers have to agree it is happening . . .
    Oh wait.

  2. Harold Camping sends his heartfelt condolences to the IPCC, Green crony capitalists, environmental activists, we-need-to-save-the-world-via-carbon pricing politicians and, of course, the progressive MSM.
For a small fee, he will send Grieving Greens a copy of his new self help book:
You Were Wrong, Get Over It
How to navigate shame and embarrassment while maintaining your faith in a higher power*
*just replace all religious terms with secular progressive ones (UN, social justice, sustainability, etc.).

  3. I blame Al Gore. Let’s try him as a warming criminal in the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

  4. I saw the science guy on CBC a couple days ago spouting off how Canada’s few extra degrees were caused by global warming. Apparently the fatal deep freeze in Europe is unrelated. When are these a$$holes going to read even the current warmist literature and find that we have had cooling since 1997. That is the reason warmists were liars. They had to invent facts? to match their predictions.

  5. I certainly hope that in the great rush to save face or to gloat, (which I tend to do) that steps are taken to deal with the fact that “she’s going to be a cold one”.

  6. Europe’s turn to be snowy and cold this year, western Canada’s was so last year.
Cyclical patterns? Seems to be about correct.

  7. My computer models say the planet is overheating
My data says it is not.
Gradually, models yield to the dictates of data.
The Eco Greenie Gaia Church of Humankind Hating & Social Justice, Climate Fear Mongering and Polar Bear Photo Shopping is unwinding in front of our eyes.
Better than watching reality TV 🙂

  8. Scar,
I was reading, in the Globe and Mail no less, that this winter’s mild temps are due to a stronger than average jet stream. This keeps the cold in the north like poor Alaska. Man-made CO2 has nothing to do with it. CBC – jet stream deniers?

  9. Who would have thought that BC’s carbon tax would have had such far-reaching effects? It went up 1 January and the temperatures went down across the planet – an obvious case of cause and effect. /sarc off

  10. I hate the warm weather this year; it gives to many newcomers the wrong impression.
It makes me feel like I’ve wasted allot of years in foreign third world crapholes convincing the locals that Canada isn’t where they really want to go to. Weather was always the biggest seller, amongst other things.
I suppose that’s why I know that all this advertisement money for encourage newcomers to Canada is not achieving its full potential. heh heh heh.
It sure has been great for ice fishing though. Out nearly every weekend and even on a couple of weekdays all winter long.

  11. Wasn’t there similar weather during the Battle of the Bulge in WW2, wherein many service men froze to death as they only had their summer uniforms from landing at Normandy a few months earlier?
    mid island mike

  12. Italy isn’t warm in the depths of winter anyway – not even on the coast. Probably many of their dwellings aren’t built for the cold.
I ran into this a number of years ago in Toronto. Having lived in Edmonton, Calgary, and Ottawa
I assumed naively that all residences in Canada east of LaLa Land (Vancouver) could take the cold.
Well, if Toronto goes down to -30 C many people in houses and apartments will suffer from the cold.

  13. There are many aspects to the AGW scandal, one of them being that it was the nastiest campaign of class warfare in my lifetime.
Sierra Club, Greenpeace, etc. were and still are made of of the wealthy, intent on impoverishing the
less fortunate members of our society, and some (such as Al Gore, a politician who enriched himself from holding office) to extract huge sums of money
from their poorer compatriots, in the form of carbon credits.
    Despicable.

  14. All too true, Mike. In fact the winter of 44/45 was so cold that parts of some of the Belgian rivers froze over. The early 1940s was the end of the 1930s warm period because of a solar minima.

  15. Knight 99- On the same subject of giving newcomers the wrong impression, a wave of prairie settlers in the early 1900s encountered a warm winter just like this one. The following year, after failing to prepare properly, the prairies were hit with a really bitter winter, and some of them froze to death. In SE Alberta, these “open winters” have been around as long as the white man. They’ve lulled a good many newcomers into a false sense of security.

  16. Freak occurrences or nature?
Let real science decide, not activists with pockets to line!
The last time I was in Rome, I remember it getting to zero degrees Celsius one day. The spring was especially warm.

  17. Honestly, you have to love the brazenness of the AGW crowd. They’ve long ago ditched the “global warming” label in favour of “climate change”. Warmer than usual in Canada? Man-made climate change!! Freezing to death in Europe? Man-made climate change!! More hurricanes than usual? Fewer hurricanes than usual? More/less/the same amount of arctic ice? It’s all due to man-made climate change!
It’s the ancient con-man trick of “heads I win, tails you lose” on a global scale. Yes, they’re knaves and charlatans, every one, but the scope of their con is so staggering, you almost have to admire their chutzpah.
After you kick them in the nuts, of course.

  18. These people that die in Europe when some heat or snow/cold appear…I believe its crap…there is no reason to die…and I believe its all crap..in to days world, to many government and public places to go for heat/cool and they will pick you up..I just do not believe that….and I have been in a lot hot humid summers and very cold winters…fudgeing the stats….///

Well said John!… What most miss (it’s only obvious to us old folks who have been there) is that Science will always win/have it’s way in the end.
The folks that pushed AGW, and knew they where wrong, are just plain Evil.. The Canadian fruit-fly guy needs to get some help!

  20. Meanwhile Bill Nye the phoney science guy is charging my kids university 200k plus to speed and indoctrinate, what a SCAM this has been for the SCAM artists like him Suzuker and Gorey.
