Do you believe Muslim prayers should be held in public schools? There is a poll on the left side of the page.

The poll is in need of some help
So far 68 Yes, 32 No.
Replace the word “Muslim” with the word “Catholic” and watch things take a different direction.
Nope. Christian prayers ok, Muslim, no. I’m just tired enough of those pushy, two-faced wankers to say Sikh, Hindu, Confucian, Taoist, Buddhist, Hari Krishna, Zoroastrian and EVEN the frakin’ Mormons with their sacred underwears are ok to pray too… but not Muslims.
Because why? Because ONE religious group in this country is a problem for everybody else, and it ain’t the Taoists, baby. Push back time.
Welcome to Canada, get with the f-ing program @$$holes.
the poll is rigged, its Toranna.
I didn’t know soft white fabric had a right to prayer.
Was that a veiled threat, Warren?

They won’t allow any no votes. Typical.
I can’t really object to prayers in school where numbers warrant because freedom of religion is a fundamental right while public education is not (despite my being an atheist).
The real solution is a voucher system. That way, if the Muslim community wanted to set up one or more schools, they could hold prayers within them as required and no one could complain.
I just voted no. The results are still 68% yes, 32% no.
Polls and Petitions: options for those who won’t take real action.
Folks, this poll was first published in July and closed a day later.
It has been traveling around the internet ever since.
Don’t waste your time voting.
Here I thought the law says no organized praying in school. Period.
Thanks Dick, for the information. Since it seems it will not allow votes, please disregard.
Just voted and the poll favours muzzie prayers. The muzzie community has probably rallied to get out the vote. The rest of us need to weigh in.
The article is from June.I wonder how things are going now.
A week ago it was 70/30 so there is movement
Don’t forget that there is a global activist Muslim community that spends 24/7 online furthering their endeavours. From Saudi Arabia in the Middle East to European squatters there are even attempts suing westerners under their own laws and human rights commissions without ever leaving their keyboards.
It’s called “Legal tourism” or something akin.
If this came to a referendum, the outcome would be quite different indeed.
re: Muslin Prayer
someone wants to pray to a fabric?
I’ve read through a huge number of newspapers covering over 90 yrs +/- and there was always a column popping up almost monthly about complaints by Jews and/or atheists concerning Bible readings and prayers in school.
Took a long time to eradicate Christianity from the public school and that hasn’t been very long.
Non-Muslim taxpayers aren’t going to allow Muslim prayers for very long.
Still 68 / 32. Something smells fishy?
If they can’t then Christians mustn’t be either.
“Took a long time to eradicate Christianity from the public school and that hasn’t been very long.”
The public schools in Canada were never originally meant to be “secular”. They were meant to be Protestant.
Turfing Christianity from the public schools began in the Sixties, I believe.
I remember saying prayers and swearing allegiance to the Queen when going to school in the late sixties.
I have no doubts about the commie take over of our schools.
Voted.
The results are still 68% yes, 32% no.
Are these 68% “useful idiots” (aka liberals), muslims or both?
Interesting, I think 95% of my neighborhood is Christian but I am pretty sure we are still not allowed to pray in school….must be the wrong religion.
80 % of the school is muslim. Welcome to Canada. Anyone disagree ? The Fatwa will be in the mail.
When I was in elementary school in the late 70’s we used to sing O Canada and say the Lord’s Prayer at the start of every school day. That practice was put to a stop so as not to discriminate. If Christians can’t do it, then Muslims can’t either.
In less than 40 years whites will be a minority in Canada at present immigration/breeding rates.
These are the first mild breezes in the winds of change.
