  1. That was beyond bizarre. I have worked in various law enforcement/security positions throughout my life, some more serious than others. The first thing I always did was establish the source of and extent of my authority i.e. by what authority would I order someone to do something or deny them access to whatever. Without that, you have nothing.
“It’s nice to see you, but this is a staff area, and you need to make an appointment. I’ll take your name and let him know you’re here, but no, I won’t interrupt him in fairness to those he’s seeing at present.” That could have worked.
Equally, Ezra should have been readily recognizable to any of those Ceeb drones who could have easily dealt with him with a wave and a smile and a “Sorry Ezra, but you’re asking me to comment on a matter of company policy best left to our PR people. You know how it is.”
Instead, the bunker mentality reflects the degree to which they view any questioning of the status quo as an existential threat, and likely reflects their knowledge of exactly how fragile and illegitimate their position really is. Weird!

  2. Well, if anyone thinks this is the “hearts and minds strategy” they are sorely mistaken. Levant looks like a goofball, as usual. While charming in person, he comes across as a bully and an idiot in these types of segments. He needs to get a comedy coach – it’s not natural for him. Grrrrr, some on conservatives, we can do better than this!

  3. Before Harper won his minority government, I heard Levant on the radio, and thought “If the liberals were smart, they would interview Ezra Levant on national radio as a conservative pundit, and that would be the end of Harper and any hopes of a Conservative government”

  4. Now that’s excellent programming – I was glued to the screen throughout the entire show and what a show it was. Informative entertainment – Ezra style. The CBC truly is a Source of contention and angst among Canadians.
Clever and funny comment this “How about making this into a series? ” Posted by: David at August 23, 2011 10:20 PM. This “episode” had everything: docu style facts, suspense, comedy, drama, some action, and even cool music. IMO, it evoked viewer feelings of vindication, elation, power, and the sense of good dealing evil a well aimed, long awaited blow with truths fist. Who wouldn’t want to be able to pull something like that off? – add fantasy to the list.
Ezra has only 4 months of TV experience, for a newbie, he is doing an exceptional job. It’s true that his passion and excitement get the better of him at times; however, his passion/excitement is a key part of his appeal though. As a result, he sometimes fires too many questions at his guests, not giving them enough time to answer fully. Seems he is trying to squeeze to much into the slotted time – he’s improving on this, but still hit and miss at this point. Some topics need/deserve/beg for more than one show. Give him a year to hone his interviewing skills and tweak his style. There is no one else like him on Canadian TV – he’s unique and that’s a good thing!
Thank you for yet another, entertaining and informative hour; more importantly, many thanks for being my voice on the TV.

  5. Is this the CBC of Mary Walsh and This Hour has 22 Minutes? Ezra is so polite; CBC is totally hypocrtical.

  6. Thanks Ezra! Great job of exposing the CEEbeecee for the nitwits they truly are – imagine, using a phrase like ‘private property’, in Canada; they were making that up. There must be a Snowy Owl in that massive building and I want that owl saved! They must all move out, at once. So much for private property ceebeecee nincompoops. Mr Moore, where are you?

  7. Erik Larsen, the only way that the CPC is going to make any headway in Canada is to stop being nice and to tell the truth as they see it. We’ve seen how extremism gets results and homosexuals have used this method for years. Look at how a self-inflicted disease that can be prevented with a modicum of self-control has been forced into the forefront of medical reaseach and the people who have HIV are not viewed as libertine idiots but rather a special class of victims. HIV is a homosexual disease, but it’s warped the sexuality of heterosexuals living in large cities who are terrified of catching HIV. Well, other people can use this tactic also and Ezra is good at what he does. I hope he inspires a host of imitators.
The only dispute I have with Ezra is him terminating the Western Standard after I’d purchased a 2 year subscription and I never got a refund. I’ve forgiven him for that but, if I ever get to meet him in person, will bring it up.
Ezra was the first person to take on the HRC’s in a manner that they never expected and he single-handedly publicized the arbitrary statist environment that existed within the HRC’s. The nanny state has gotten so massive that we’ll need a thousand or so Ezra’s to attack every unwanted intrusion of the state into our lives. What I hope comes from Ezra’s show is that it will embolden the masses to push back at statists and not play nice. We’ve tried that and it hasn’t worked and it’s time to take on the totalitarians and destroy them.
There’s little love out there for the totalitarian nanny state except among those who derive their employment as state enforcers and among the dependant classes. The former need to be unemployed and the latter don’t bother to vote. It’s time to harness that diffuse anger and use it to cut the state down to size and put strong limits on what it can do in future. If there’s going to be a Canadian TEA party, people like Ezra are going to be founding members.

  8. Dang, they didn’t arrest Ezra. If they had you could probably sell tickets to watch the trial and get rich. Mr. Head-of-Security being verbally sliced and diced in the courtroom would be like you or I lacing up our skates and playing pick up hockey with Gretzky. I watched the “Human Rights” videos and that was pure entertainment. Ezra on home turf of a real courtroom would be a thing of beauty.

  9. Don’t bother Ezra with your trivial lost Western Standard subscription money, perhaps you should consult with a lawyer and learn a little about capitalist fundamentals, “the corporate veil”, etc. Ezra has no personal liability for your subscription contract with the Western Standard entity. To attack him personally on this matter only makes you look stupid and wastes his time.

  10. Remember, the CBC staff are the same gang that are wailing and gnashing their teeth over the death of the Canadian Pope of Socialism (Layton).
    Bizarre behaviour should be expected.

  11. Still not getting how a publicly-funded broadcaster can be “private”. If it is in fact private, WHO owns it? And why are we all still paying for it??

  12. I love Ezra’s take-no-prisoners schtick.
As others have mentioned, these are no normal times. We’re in dire straits here in Canada, thanks to the Nanny State. The only way to make a point is to be utterly outrageous in order to smoke out the weasels.
Weasels are vicious. You don’t handle them with kid gloves; you put on boxing gloves.
Ezra took on the Continually Bullshi**ing Canadians cabal and rattled them. Good for him! Bully? I don’t think so. They’re the bullies: Look at them. Pushing him, shoving the SunTV cameraman, accusing him of being “belligerent” (when he was just having a little fun?) and being “harassing.” The CBC-types are nanny-state wimps. The only way to dislodge them (please, God) is to give them a good, swift (verbal) kick. Ezra’s doing that in spades and it’s sweet to see them squirm and hear them squeal!
    Go, Ezra!

  13. While I am a huge Ezra fan, I find some of his stuff on STV to be little better than a Rick Mercer skit.
    This was no exception.

  14. Ezra is the hero of free speech and that’s just a start.
Some may find him over-the-top but he’s simply countering over-the-top stupidity and inane rules and actions wherever he encounters them. It’s called fighting fire with fire.
What’s wrong with having a little silliness to point out silliness such as we viewed in his escapade with CBC? Since when can they treat someone like Ezra as a threat when they know exactly who he is, a Canadian taxpayer who’s taxes support the Canadian Crappy Corporation?

  15. Ezra has performed a little send-up of Rick Mercer “ambush journalism” at the home ball park for this sort of thing. Good on him I say.

  16. As penny used to say, “johnbrooks, are you a young person, perchance?” I ask because you have flown to the most outlandish and altogether unjustified conclusions—your “inferences” are based solely on pure emotion and no evidence—from these few words of mine about Ezra:
I questioned your prescription, “So, someone please get Ezra a personality coach”, with “I’d say, sir, speak for yourself.” I used the same minimalism when you responded, “. . . don’t tell me Ezra’s the new holy grail and above criticism.” Actually, if you’d bothered to read and process my few words, you might have noticed that I suggested no such thing.
Now you write to me: “. . . is Ezra above criticism? has [sic] he become a pope?
“if [sic] one can’t voice one contrary opinion on here [sic] then we are just as guilty as the CBC [sic] and other wind bags [sic] ‘we’ are so ardent to point out.”
BTW, johnbrooks, even the pope isn’t above criticism, and your comments here are utter poppycok. As the Professor said in “The Magician’s Nephew”: “WHAT DO they teach these children in school?” Contrary to the advertisements, certainly not critical thinking skills . . .
So in that regard, as you single me out, I’d be very interested to know which words of mine suggested that Ezra is above criticism. NB: To be credible, inferences about other people’s ideas have to be based on more than your own fantasies: your emotional, ludicrously hyperbolic, empty- and utterly wrong-headed accusations here, which put words in my mouth, reflect very badly on you and are tedious in the extreme.
If you respond, if possible, please engage your brain.
And I hope Ezra keeps the pressure on the CBC in his own, inimitable (though not always perfect) way. Making fun of the CBC is such fun to watch—and it drives its “We’re-the-CBC-and-you’re-not” snobs CRAZY. YEAH!
    GO, EZRA!

  17. Liz J and nold sum it up well. CBC just got a taste of their own medicine for a change and they did not like it.

  18. Just goes to prove a point I’ve made before. A conservative couldn’t get a job pushing a broom at CBC no matter who he or she is related to!

  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4DEuRMigtc
WalterF, Thanks for reminding me of CBC’er Mary Walsh and her attempts at humour. On this ambush of Sarah Palin,Walsh is escorted out by security, goes to the loading dock, and Palin speaks to her briefly, which is more than you can say for CBC with Ezra.
Walsh ambushed Stephen Harper and tried to embarrass him,it didn’t work, but I can’t find the video on Youtube, maybe the CBC was ashamed and had it removed.
Allah almighty, what a bunch of deadbeats the CBC comedy gang are, and my tax dollars go to support this crap!

  20. Johnbrooks has a legitimate point, as I think security was just doing its job, as Ezra was doing hi; it was the idiots in the courtyard eating lunch who were being obnoxious.

  21. Ezra does a ‘Roger and Me’ a la MikeWhale Moore.
    LOL!
Stay away from the deep fried grilled cheese sandwiches.

  22. Well, you can always use the methods of the left against them.
Although I can’t really see it happening in Toronto, or Ottawa..but perhaps a flash mob gathering of like-minded conservatives at CBC buildings in Edmonton or Calgary asking for access to areas paid for by taxpayer money might be entertaining.
@Enkidu: Well done, you made me laugh during a horrible day at work. 🙂

  23. I dunno about you guys but I want sandwich boy to teach me that wet diaper dance he did in front of Levant. Happy feet and crazy legs – go sandwich man go!

  24. loki@627 – I agree – but Ezra doesn’t understand how to have the lighthearted touch to what he does – instead he looks like a bully, like a bull in a china shop. Michael Moore, who I despise, can at times have the light-hearted touch. Levant needs to lighten up – he reminds me of someone with a huge chip on their shoulder daring a disinterested passerby to knock it off.
Everyone should realize – liberals can get away with anything, conservatives have to be more careful. Besides, don’t we have more class?
And lookout – chill my friend! 🙂

  25. Hey, Erik Larsen, I thought that, under severe provocation, on his and our dime, Ezra carried off a most admirable light touch when dealing with Big Brother CBC in its monster-size fortress—as compared to what annoyed and entitled “youts” might have done.
If I were you, I’d be grateful for the ironic and humorous style of Ezra’s protest. Speaking of “chill”: you might try it yourself!

  26. How in the world did I not know about this site before? This is AWESOME. Oh, and Eskimo @4: I think you’re absolutely right. He IS the Canadian answer to Andrew Breitbart.
Just what I needed…another daily “must read” blog. LOL

  27. Re retarded CBC denisons: Give me more!
I’m stuck with Eastlink, but this glimpse into the CBC counterculture just brings me back in time.
A time where the entitlements attitude of LIBRANNOS, their ministers Goodale, Caplan, et all made Canadians sick.
The billion dollar boondogle, the PM strangling the protestor, the BDC hatchetmen sent after Mr Beaudoin, when he wouldn’t do Cretiens bidding.
Rick Mercer, Mary Walsh, Little mosque etc…
    fire em all….

  28. I can understand any institution having security policies, and being hesitant to admit someone under these circumstances. However, the security guard’s comment about “private property” is ridiculous.
As Ezra has said more than once on his show, if he owns a piece of something, then he has the right to use and dispose of it. If not, then he doesn’t have genuine ownership. “Public ownership” is a contradiction in terms, an anti-concept.

  29. time for your meds dear.

  30. Looks like some good footage for someone to send to the CBC ombudsman and request the name of that coffee-drinking and internet surfing for a living thug pushing Ezra and the Cameraman for purposes of filing assult charges.
