Tony Blair’s Britain

Where the foxes caper unmolested, the government packs your school lunch and “influential Left-wingers at last meet the filthy thing they have created”.

Bitter laughter is my main response to the events of the past week. You are surprised by what has happened? Why? I have been saying for years that it was coming, and why it was coming, and what could be done to stop it.
I have said it in books, in articles, over lunch and dinner tables with politicians whose lips curled with lofty contempt.
So yes, I am deeply sorry for the innocent and gentle people who have lost lives, homes, businesses and security. Heaven knows I have argued for years for the measures that might have saved them.
But I am not really very sorry for the elite liberal Londoners who have suddenly discovered what millions of others have lived with for decades.

  1. Perhaps now Britain will wall in the peasants in to their own ghettos,so they can only harm themselves.
The better-off can move to the suburbs.
I expect the first order of the day will be to raise welfare rates to help alleviate the terrible poverty no one suffers.
btw,has anyone heard if they’re sending in grief counselors?

  2. It seems one of the contributing factors to this mess is that police policy has depended too much on the thousands of CCTV cameras….Police are in the stations staring at monitors rather than walking a beat….soaking up “hum’int” and getting acquaited with the residents…good and bad.
This has been going on for some time on a minor scale but suddenly, probably spread by social media…the yobs realized there was no law….and the world went sideways……

  3. If the police cannot control a riot in one hour, they might as well surrender the city (which, in effect, they did) and run away. How baffling is it that they need to reserve a water cannon for the following day or they are sickened in the knowledge that they may need rubber bullets?

  4. And soon we will be seeing little Alex and his droogs.
Anthony Burgess must be spinning in his grave.

  5. Peter Hitchens is right and has been all along. I doubt if this incident will change much in Britain as it is not bad enough yet to discredit those that brought the entitlement soul destroying system into effect. The people need to get angry enough to force their government to make changes.

  6. As Kate says: “I have been saying for years that it was coming”. The groundwork was set by the policy of multiculturalism and the destruction of a British identity. No longer allowed to sing: “Land Of Hope And Glory” at a graduation ceremony for “Ch****s Sake”!! God help the student who whistled: “Rule Britannia” in the hallways. And same as our Canuck dingbats, no “Merry Christmas”; even in a shopping center.(just a few examples)They are outcasts, no longer part of their former great country. It’s really a mini civil war.
I was a student in saner times. Every morning began with a convocation that included the National Anthem and a Prayer. That was a long time ago in a different Country.

  7. Government has taken the right of parents to dicipline their own children away only to find out that social engineering is a dismal failure. When children learn at a early age that there are no meaningfull consequenses for bad behavior, then bad behavior is inevitable. When there is nothing to fear in the justice system then what do they have to lose by raising a little hell just for fun?. All those “time outs” and never spanking your child have certainly come home to roost. Common sense was never a a part of new age parenting. When government cronies become the parental guides they do it as well as everything the government does. Poorly. Fifty years ago parents knew how to raise children. Then along came the social workers and child activists that have brought us to this point. They will never admit they are wrong so don’t expect any changes in the near future. Common sense does not come with a diploma.

  8. Errrr….didn’t violent crime and homicides peak in the 70’s by youth raised by “common sense” parents of the 50’s (+/- 10 years). Maybe the Lord’s Prayer and “spare the rod, spoil the child” parenting/schooling was not exactly a fool-proof method of social stability either.
Better analysis would look to similar situations (Canadian reserves, USSR-Russia, Ireland, Paris Car-B-Q suburbs, black families in the US) to find parallels. Joblessness, government handouts, higher than average number of young people and booze (except for French Muslims) seems to be common factors.

  9. LC Bennett, homicide rates peaked in the 1970’s but that was because of the young overall page of the population. That peak was due to the huge number of baby boomers who went through their most violent years as they were young and then mellowed out. Property crime has increased dramatically since the 1970’s.
As far as property crime rates go, all I can say is that they’re to a large degree unknown. Most people don’t bother reporting property crime as they know that nothing will come of it. Having lived in Vancouver, I know that the property crime rate is probably double or more than the official figures. When I lived there I didn’t bother reporting breakins to my automobile (about once/month until I finally decided there was no point having a vehicle in downtown Vancouver). Also, the police demanded a copy of my drivers license when I went to report the first breakin which I refused as I saw no reason whatever for them to have this. So, I’ve moved out of Vancouver, have surveillance cameras on my property and will personally deal with any thieves that have the misfortune of breaking into my house.
In the 1970’s no-one in Calgary I knew bothered locking their house doors which gives one an idea of the rate of property crime during that era.

  10. I once showed up at the local cop shop to report a theft.
    I attempted to provide
    – the name of a witness
    – the name of the thief
    – the fact a taxicab ‘follow the breadcrumbs’ was used.
I got laughed right in the face by the 3 cops on duty.
it remains the single most offensive thing in my entire bullying-packed life. so much so I prayed fervently to the Heavenly Father to deal with it this time.
He responded by killing 7 cops in the area in rapid succession.
so far no apology from them yet.
and no laughter from the dead ones either.
    heh heh heh !!!

  11. I saw this on a Brian Lilley comentary recently, I am not sure of the exact numbers, but the crime rate is only down if you take 1975 or something as a base year. It you take 1960 as a base year it is up by thousands of percent.

  12. I watched a debate in the British Parliament and I think the elites still don’t get it. Essentially, the MP’s message was that once the ruffians knew they would have to face the British court they would immediately stop all the bad things they were doing. As if, being brought to court was an actual deterent.

  13. Things will change when places like Rockliffe Park and Bridle Path get a taste of the mob.

  14. The “crime rate” in Britain is a farce. Most of what sane people call crime goes unreported.

  15. And the ops who might do something are hamstrung by horrifically bad leade4rship and the sumbest reguklations you can imagine.

  16. Best article todate, however the left will not address the root cause because they did that to England. The left destroyed the fabric of society, the political masters never have to muck about with the peasants nor grovel in the hovels they’ve created.

  17. It looks like they are considering cutting off looters from their welfare checks. If they follow through, it will likely be the hardest punishment handed out to these punk criminals.

  18. “In this country, it is wise to kill an admiral from time to time to encourage the others.”
Whatever happened to this honored tradition?

  19. Loki, if you look at high crime rate areas today – native reserves, immigrant ghettos, etc.- I think you will find that, like the 70’s, there is an abundance of young people in these high-crime areas. IMO, this combined with easy welfare, gangs, too much alcohol, a lenient justice system (for violent criminals) and family dysfunction are far bigger factors than reciting the Lord’s Prayer or corporal punishment.
That is why I talked about “peak” crime in violence and homicides was in the 70’s, minuteman. I think our justice system in Canada, and Britain, has far too lenient with violent criminals over the last few decades.

  20. “Cultural enrichment”, are you feel’n it? I’m feel’n it.
Bravo to the Liberal Left, what a wonderful and progressive achievement you have brought onto yourselves and the rest of us. Watch your little monster grow and spread across the western world.

  21. Ironically, and disturbingly so, the quickest way that England will restore the legacy of law and order is to accelerate it’s Islamiification. If Sharia law had been more wide spread there would be hundreds of youths in London today walking around with no left hand. Hard to loot it when you can’t lift it. I am strongly encouraging my reletives to immigrate to Canada. The UK is lost.

“Ironically, and disturbingly so, the quickest way that England will restore the legacy of law and order is to accelerate it’s Islamiification”
Somehow that doesn’t make me feel better about what the left has done to our countries. Nor does it offer a reasonable solution although your statements are quite true. What is most probably going to happen is a slow deterioration to a third world craphole something akin to Mexico. There will be more riots & looting, then kidnappings and other more organized gang crime activities on our streets over time. You will see more gated communities, more private security, then eventually a complete militarized police state to protect the government and their rich crony’s from the filth.
Everyone else will live their lives in fear and poverty used by both sides for labour, profits and perverted indulgences. Islam in NA will eventually be another big gang on the block, fighting & murdering for their scraps. This is the legacy of the left that our grandchildren can look forward too.

  24. Knight99, why so glum? London has always been a violent craphole, only since Victoria was it even slightly cleaned up. In the 1930’s British gentlemen carried revolvers when going out -because they HAD to.-
The British gun laws were enacted to keep the hoi polloi in their place and to keep the nation from being overturned by a Communist revolution. The laws were never meant to restrict the upper class, and indeed still don’t. If you Know People you can get all the permits you want, in London and even here in Kanuckistan.
So, what will happen is what always happens. The lower classes will be suppressed by ever increasing force, the upper classes will re-arm themselves, and it will all go back to Lords and Serfs again. After a suitable period of burning stuff, of course.
Because at base the Left is the old wine of feudal tyranny in a new bottle. People are stupid, they must be controlled. Theme of tyrants through history.
No doubt clothing fashions will improve. Lots of lower class fingers busy sewing for bread.

  25. What does it take to invoke the war measures act?
When scumbags decide to defy law and order in a civil society and can’t be controlled through normal policing tougher measures are urgent.
In fact, the war measures act would circumvent the damned leftist leaning legal systems which systematically puts the perpetrators back on the streets with a slap on the wrist.

  26. True, Phantom, London crime makes Saskatoon look good (and that’s difficult to do). London was the only place in Europe where we almost had our luggage stolen – broad daylight, two guys in a car with one hanging out the window reaching for suitcases being unloaded from the bus. The bugger actually smiled at me when we made eye contact after he missed his intended target.
We did have a camera stolen in Scotland, but what do you expect from the Scots.

  27. “oldschoolconservatist” used to call himself – poodle or something like that.
(Seriously, shi-tzu, if you really think the universe works this way, please get help before you decide you’re starring in your own personal Death Wish.)

  28. Knight99 – Sharia Law (or any part of Islam) is not a reasonable solution for a western nation, particularly when you have two thousand years of good solid common law to guide you, and that if only acted upon would solve many of the UK’s current issues. However, the UK and most Western nations have lost the will to enable and support their own traditions, and have lost the belief and the faith in their own worth and even superiority to other systems. As long as our leaders listen to those who are so ashamed of their own heritage and value that they value the foreign above their own birth right, we are doomed.

  29. The Phantom >
I understand that perfectly, London itself has always been a city of slums and ivory towers.
I’m commenting on the broader deterioration of western societies enabled by the elites and their useful idiots “the left” through Marxist styled ideologies, multiculturalism, gun (self defence) control, endless big government regulation and taxation.
The end result is about returning to some form of “overlord” control by a few who have systematically corralled the masses into compliant working ghetto lifestyles. I don’t really believe that this is a well planned “conspiracy” as much as it is a natural evolution of super rich and powerful people wanting to rule everyone else. It’s the historical norm.
With the help of the delusional and idealistic left, they are achieving that control through fear, propaganda and humanities natural bigotry’s within our multicultural societies. They always knew this would happen. Their last step is to insure their safety and security by disarming the public, leaving firearms in the hands of the “palace guards” who protect the elite, and the gangsters who control and terrorize the wanton masses at street level.
It may be gloomy to view the onslaught of free and democratic western nations this way, but we have something like 10,000 years of historical precedence to draw these conclusions from.
My issue/ point is, why be compliant in enslaving ourselves, whether it’s by design or by natural processes? Our forefathers did not, which is why we know the difference to begin with. How we peaceably fight this encroaching tyranny is by opposing the tactics that are corrupting our free societies. #1 Multiculturalism, #2 Big Government/ socialism/ liberalism, #3 Gun Control….#4,#5,#6…………….

  30. Chris >
I agree with you. Even your comment’s that Sharia Law will break the backs of the Liberal Left if it ever came to be.
I just don’t think it will all play out that way in NA. Simply there are still too many freedom loving people with guns to begin with, for now. I do think that over time we will see economic chaos due to financial mismanagement, corruption, choking liberal/ special interest regulations on small businesses, and mass third world immigration (illiteracy & crime).
That will lay fertile ground for Islam to grow longer roots, but I think in the end they will become another violent internal crime syndicate amongst others that people try and avoid like MS-13. If this point is ever reached, most of us won’t care who wants our money or our heads, little green men from space, or little brown men from the desert.
It’s all bad, and it was all avoidable if not for the useful idiots that enabled it all.

  31. Rev. – I can assure you that Mead was a pernicious fool. She was intent on proving the theories of her mentor Fraz Boas, who had a very serious agenda. Most everything she chose to believe was a lie.
No wonder Anthropology is a joke.

  32. Yes England has always had a bit of a mob thing going. I grew up there in the sixties and remember the football yobs. What has changed though, is the growth of pure violence against law abiding citizens. When you talk to any of your English friends, they all have an anecdote where they have been robbed, threatened with bodily harm or assaulted. It seems to be universal.
The response has been to emasculate the police and install cameras everywhere to very little effect. Now you have a society where robbers wait until you are home to burgle your house as they know the alarm will be of, a society where they extend the opening hours on pubs rather than clamp down on the drunks and a society that has lost its soul through four decades of misguided policies that encourage indigence.
For a glimpse of what this sceptered isle is now watch Michael Caine in Harry Brown. Sir Michael as always, is very watchable and the England the film portrays is disturbingly accurate.
    God help my cousins.

  33. Yes, why rob someone in front of a CCV camera when you can easily rob them in thier undefended home? In fact the criminal has more rights once breaking in than the homeowner who can’t legally defend themselves. Nice and private, do take your time.
    What a wonderfully “progressive” society.

  34. Canada is only a few years behind England……
Estimated 500,000 muzzies in the GTA……it is only a matter of time…..
