Perhaps a page should have stuck to her, er, knitting

Kelly McParland Eviscerates a 21 Year Old Narcissist

Now more simple reality:

The Canadian Senate Page Program: Each year, fifteen university students from across Canada are selected to participate in the program – one of the most sought-after privileges available to university students. “Under the direction of the Usher of the Black Rod, these leaders of tomorrow are given a remarkable opportunity to be leaders of today.”
Brigette DePape: The 21-year-old graduate from the University of Ottawa made headlines for holding up a protest sign that read ‘Stop Harper’ at the start of the Throne Speech: “This country needs a Canadian version of an Arab Spring.” DePape has since received several job offers and is considering taking a position with the Public Service Alliance of Canada.
Hamza Ali al-Khateeb: A 13-year-old Syrian boy who tagged along at an antigovernment protest in the town of Saida a few weeks ago, was arrested, was burned, beaten, lacerated and given electroshocks. His jaw and kneecaps were shattered. He was shot in both arms. When his father saw the state of Hamza’s body, he passed out…

But Harper must be stopped; up DePape’s self-promoting…:

Quel courage. Quelle lèse majesté.

  1. I wonder if this person’s supporters are even aware of what’s going on in Syria?

  2. As long as we’re on the subject of courage, let’s remember what happened on June 6, 1944.

  3. As long as we’re on the subject of courage, let’s remember what happened on June 6, 1944.
    Indeed.

  4. patricia – what childish comments.
No-one is threatened by the page; what we are talking about was her disrespect for parliament and for all the electorate who vote in the CPC and Harper. Respect for the rule of law and its democracy are important. To us. Possibly not to you?
But then, you seem to delight in childish actions (pie in the face tactics). I suggest some maturity.
Second – as adults and not children, we also respect facts and reality. Therefore, kindly provide evidence for ‘Harper ‘playing up to the homophobes’ and ‘appearance at anti-gay marriage rallies’.
Oh, and evidence of our racism, sexism, homophobia.
Patricia – it’s time to be an adult: facts, evidence, respect for the law and for the people in democracy.
quebecois separatiste- your ‘flat earth’ analogy is false. An election is a rational choice of a political party; one doesn’t choose facts (earth’s form) but gains scientific knowledge.
And when/if Quebec leaves, remember, it must accept its share of the national debt. And no Canadian passport or currency goes with it. And no, all the funds and jobs in Montreal and Hull from the federal govt will go.
That means that a lot of those civil service jobs are gone..which is a heavy proportion in Quebec! That means, that most of your socialist lifestyle, which is primarily funded by the ROC, will..whoosh..disappear. Oh, and the milk quote will be gone. And northern Quebec as well. But, please, feel free to go. You want to stand on your own feet? Oh…about time. Please do so.

  5. People posing as Cons and typing vile insults, oh where have I seen this MO before the crack pot team at Section 13 perhaps trolling for work? As for her, well all I can say she’s a step up ethically than the left’s former hero Omar Khadr.

  6. If this ditz wants to be part of an “Arab Spring” she can go over to the Mideast and take part in the real one. I’m sure they won’t beat/rape her for having an uncovered head or anything like that.
Then when it’s all over she can be part of a Muslim Brotherhood-led society that considers her personal value as half that of a man, and requires that she veil herself in public. And where a stunt with a Stop sign can get her jailed or killed.

  7. Employers looking to hire university grads would be well advised to shred any resume they receive from a graduate of the University of Ottawa. It is clear the environment of that institution (under the “leadership” of Allan Rock) teaches radical left wing tactics. The place is a sewer full of crackpots.

  8. People are actually offering her jobs?
Hey, maybe she can show up at their board meetings and hold stupid signs, huh?
And no charges? Hell, I’d have her in the stripey hole right now. And put her on a black list for government jobs.

  9. Re ET @ 8:44am – “Patricia – it’s time to be an adult: facts, evidence, respect for the law and for the people in democracy.”
Bravo ET, but that’s a bridge too far for her ilk.

  10. If she is a budding playwright/actress why did she not apply for a theatre arts or drama program? Isn’t art they way people changed society? Got them to think? Are the real subversives (as it was in communist countries)?
Is it because you need to learn lots of Shakespeare? Because it’s a long slog before you are considered famous and you have no plans to suffer for your art?

  11. It is very common for Senators be become the mentors of pages…
I’d be checking the link between the rogue page and Librano Senator Sharon Carstairs (Manitoba) appointed by Chretian in 1994…that’s if anyone from the MSM has the ‘nads to do it…

  12. patricia – supporting the definition of marriage as between one man and one woman is not a homophobic act!
Marriage is a universal socioeconomic institution primarily established for the maintenance of our species by enabling a ‘next generation’. Socially and economically enabling a next generation. The family is supposed to produce, nurture and socialize the next generation.
To change this definition of marriage into one based only on ‘this generation’ and ignore the ‘next generation’ misunderstands the societal function of marriage.
If people of the same sex want to bond for ‘this generation companionship’ – that’s their business. But it’s not marriage. Therefore, why do such people want to define it as marriage? Ah..for the economic benefits? Not for the ideological overtone?
Again – please provide specific factual evidence of Harper as ‘homophobic’. And, specific factual evidence of ‘sexism’ and ‘racism’. Remember, Patricia – be accountable.
And, Patricia, conservatives here in the US and Canada want our government to move out of social issues – and stick to the economy, defense, currency, communications etc. Societal issues – in their non-economic nature, such as marriage, abortion, etc – are best left to the people in their local areas. That’s why, for example, Harper has refused to ‘bring up the abortion issue’.
Now – how about those examples of homophobia, racism and sexism?

  13. Someone should have taken the time ask her one simple question: “Stop Harper from doing what?”
I strongly suspect that she would have been stuck for an answer. As a previous poster accurately pointed out, she can be compared to a simpleton running onto a football field or a baseball diamond.
Oh … Not Patricia. No one here is “threatened” by her actions. Read the comments before taking what you consider to be clever jabs. Your commentary is far from clever. However, it is mildly amusing.

  14. batb
The reason the little twit is saying that 3/4 of Canadians voted against Harper is that there was 60% turnout and 40% of the turnout voted for Harper, which is 24% of Canadians. This is the loony left’s latest rationalization for what they term as a lack of democracy when it comes to the election.
Of course, the fact that Chretien could only gather about 22% in his last election, according to their criteria, is irrelevant to these morons.

  15. Such is the oppressive, iniquitous and exploitive state of Canadian society today that Ms DePape was only able to obtain a $75,000 scholarship for university.

  16. ya know this screams for a sign generator (like the liberal election version). Space is small (like that between her ears) but could be fun

  17. Yes why bother with elections when we have sophisticated political theorists like poor MS DePape to direct us.Perhaps we could begin our own version of Arab Spring with Ms DePape out in the square with a microphone

  18. “Perhaps we could begin our own version of Arab Spring with Ms DePape out in the square with a microphone…”
Or – as a gesture of solidarity with the oppressed people of Syria – we could send her to that unhappy country to stand defiantly in front of a column of T72 tanks with her celebrated STOP sign?
