With regard to Obama, he’s a pathological narcissist and rejects both criticism and dissent. That is, his psychological derangement, and I do mean that phrase, means that he must control others. Or, he feels threatened. Any criticism, any dissent, any questions – are to Obama, evidence that he is unable to control you. We’ve seen this behaviour since his inauguration.
I imagine that he gets extremely angry when he reads/hears media that critique him. Again, he is psychologically damaged and for Obama, these comments are direct attacks against him…and he feels that he is losing control.
For Obama, his need to control means that he cannot interact on an equal basis with you. There can’t be any debate about policies and issues. If you, an ordinary citizen, ask a question, he’ll fob it off with a joke, a wink, a suggestion to ‘go out and get a new car’..and an exhortation to continue to Trust in and Believe Obama..who only wants what is Best for You.
If the media ask a question, Obama feels, as threatened, that they are actually physically attacking him. So he lashes out at them trying to destroy them. He’ll disparage them, belittle, insult them..all behaviour unseemly in a president and also, denying the right of free speech.
Bush, for example, always claimed that it was ‘their right’ when people and the media criticized him. Obama, however, can’t handle it.
He cocoons himself in his status, constantly, endlessly reminding the media: “I’m the President’ and talking always, about “I did this; I did that’…when its really the military or some department that developed the policy and took the action.

Commentators on RT (Russian Television) were poking fun at Fox News the other day. They ran a clip wherein Fox newsies were suggesting that perhaps one reason for zero scandals surfacing under Obama’s watch may be the MSM’s propensity to serve, defend and protect Obama’s administration from the light of day. The Russians thought the suggestion was absurd, all the while smirking their faces off. Russian Television: another ally for Obama’s Whitehouse. This guy is dangerous.

What I truly marvel at is that Obama’s positive ratings are as high as they are, and that he is still in strong contention for the 2012 race.
I recall back in 1996 here in B.C., the NDP was elected with Glen Clark as premier. He campaigned on a balanced budget (the NDP was just finishing a term in office, so Clark had full access to the numbers). Well, no sooner had he won the election (peculiarly with a smaller portion of the popular vote) when he indicated he needed some “wriggle room” with the budget.
BC might be the loopy stepchild in Canadian politics, but at least when we toss the bums out, WE TOSS THE BUMS OUT. Clark and the NDP never (NEVER!) recovered from the budget lie, and they were reduced to literally two seats in the 2001 election. It’s very much similar to the HST lie of omission during our last election — forced Campbell to resign due to public outrage. Of course, the difference being, Campbell stepped aside graciously for the good of the party, while Clark clung to power as long as possible, until his Attorney General (Ujhal Dosanjh) stabbed him in the back.
Anyways, my long-winded point being, Americans get the government they deserve if this man-child gets re-elected in 2012. Fool me once, and all that.

Harper’s limiting the press gallery to five questions. What’s wrong with that? It’s a fact that the NPG are biased, anti-CPC, anti-Harper, and thus, are not practicing valid journalism. Why, rove, aren’t you critiquing the NPG?
Do you critique their questions which rarely have anything to do with government but instead, focus on the personal and the ad hominem. Remember the press fuss about ‘wafergate’? That was the focus of the press. Do they report what the CPC government has done about the economy? Nope.
The fact that a majority (not all but one; you are ignoring Quebec and various papers) of editorial endorsement was for the CPC – has nothing to do with being left or right. But with analysis of Harper’s accomplishments.
However, if you view CTV, CBC and the various political pundits in those newspapers – the focus is biased and anti-Harper. Not objective but biased.
As noted, however, you fail to understand the distinction between limiting questions and silencing the media. Harper has not made any effort to silence the media – as have Obama and various dictatorial regimes around the world.

The two biggest stories of the last 5 years were IMHO,
1) Obama’s rise to the presidency.
2) Global warming/climate change/whatever.
Only one network did not swallow the popular line,and they were right,and they have been vilified by the left for it.
I mention this to the lefties whenever they mock Fox News. This usually starts them mumbling,but at least they’re quieter.

amos – what’s your point. The topic is the Leader’s (Obama, Harper) censoring of the press not editorials in favour of a particular political party during an election.
The evidence shows that Obama openly attacks individual journalists (Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck) who criticize him and openly seeks to discredit news organizations that criticize him. Harper does none of this. So – what’s your point?
And again, the fact that the editors select a particular political party has no relevance to the political bias and non-objective views of reporters and political ‘analysts’ who write in those papers.

Almost all of academia, media and the entertainment industry will vote for Obama. The aforementioned demographic would vote for Obama even if he had sex with goats on television, reverted to Islam, and confessed to wanting to destroy America (only one of which is slightly far fetched).
Most military personnel will not vote for Obama nor will social and fiscal conservatives. The split 20% of voters who identify themselves as independents contain the swing voters who will determine whether or not America will, in Mark Steyn’s words, be “headed for a future poised somewhere between the Wiemar Republic and Mad Max” or, elect a responsible POTUS who can begin the painful task of peacefully shrinking leviathan in a roughly split nation mired in economic stasis.
