There was a time when all red-blooded males wanted women banned from driving anything anywhere. That was then, this is now. After all, who would drive the kids to hockey, cubs, girl guides, ballet, etc..

well i’ll tell you one thing…when my old lady is on the back of MY motorcycle i can assure you she ain’t laffing..
I have a colleague whose daughter moved to Saudi Arabia to take a professional job there – she has had problems adjusting to the “no laughing out loud in public” for women – apparently this is just not acceptable there because it draws attention to the woman, which one must never do.
This is just another symptom of a demented view that would prevent women from even laughing out loud in public…………..how sad is that?

Actually, Sasquatch, 60 percent of Israel’s Jews came from Muslim lands, mostly Arab. Israel is largely culturally European (one of the reasons the Arabs hate it so much) but there are lots of ethnic Middle Easterners there. Even the Ashkenazi Jews are somewhat different ethnically from the other Europeans.
I think what it boils down to is that, if you live in an area ruled by Hamas, not following the orders of Hamas is “unIslamic”.

The aboriginals couldn’t make steel or firearms or ammunition.
My take, though, is that Europeans were efficient farmers and livestock breeders which allowed a surplus of food to enable European armies to fight all year round and protect their hearth and home at the same time.
Quite simply, Europeans were better at sustaining armies in the field for prolonged campagnes.
We could bring all of our enemies to heel today, if we used food as a weapon, simply by withholding food shipments.
