No single government agency has grown so big and so fast as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and no single agency threatens constitutionally guaranteed property rights and nationwide economic growth than the EPA.

Signed into law by Richard M. Nixon in 1970, the EPA has so consistently twisted the truth about the environment that its announcements must be dissected like a cadaver to find any verifiable facts.
This agency of the government is so brazen that it is currently trying to bully Congress, the seat of government, into passing the horrid Cap-and-Trade bill so that it might then regulate stationary sources that emit more than 25,000 tons of greenhouse gases per year.
… somebody please, pass the EPA one last wafer-thin dinner mint.

One of the few tidbits I recall from Intro to PoliSci was in the lecture on ‘Bureaucracy’
Every bureaucracy’s goal is not, as one might think, to perform its appointed function to the best of its ability but rather to survive. And the best and surest way to achieve that goal is to grow as large as possible.
As the EPA story attests, the argument holds.

there was another case some time ago, the epa mandarins were trying real, real hard to force a town to allow its dump trucks to haul 1,000s of tonnes of contaminated soil thru its streets. the opposition cited the safety hazard of having heavy equipment crisscrossing for years and marginal or negative results from all the contamination being stirred up and blown in the wind.

There was a case in south NJ where the EPA was collecting fluids (anti-freeze, used oil. etc) from Auto Service facilities. The regional EPA Director was, personally at night, driving the loaded tanker across the river to a regular dump in PA.. dumping and returning to NJ for more bad stuff.
The FBI became involved & charges filed.. but the Director of EPA defense team had EPA policy memo’s that identified that a regular land dump was an approved site for dumping the fluids.

Perhaps the filters are not scientifically required, and the lawyers/media should ASK that question.. Memo’s etc. I would not assume that EPA policy or regulations are valid

Yeah both the EPA and BATF are relatively new agencies and both are notoriously left-wing….and are growing infections.
BATF gave us Ruby Ridge and the EPA killed millions of Africans by banning DDT. The UN WHO reinstated DDT use and the EPA still whines about.
The EPA is even worse than the IPCC for fudging/falsifying science about AGW/CC….if that could be possible.(being worse that is.)
Thank Obama for the Stimulus and Budget that effectively doubled the EPA budget for the next 2 years.
The plan was never to pass cap and trade but do an end run via the EPA. Obama signed an executive order for GHG emission auditing and reporting today.
The EPA is a enforcer for the Executive Branch and is populated with some of the craziest environmental insiders of this Admin but the Nut Twins of Browner and Jackson are all we need to focus on. The EPA will give Obama the cred and the bold action rep he needs for Copenhagen in December.
