  6. As i stated on the previous post, it was the dems in the senate and house who got thrown under the bus – specifically the moderates in traditional red states.
    Mr rove estimates hat about 70 will be crushed in 2010 if BO is not stopped. A lot of those doomed pols have good friends in the MSM. BO will have a real fight on his hands in the coming weeks trying to get the votes he needs, particularly in the senate. Forget bipartisanship, BO is going to struggle to get partisanship on this issue.
    With cap and trade already DOA and immigration dividing the dems almost exactly on half a defeated healthcare bill would make BO an even bigger first term failure than Carter was.

  7. Wow he is good 37% less and all he has done is talk. If Fox wouldn’t have competed it might only be 25 million. Ok illegals may as well go home now. What I find amazing is after all the BS strongarm tactics he has admitted he needs Republicans. The other day he said they had some good ideas on healthcare. Two words Tort Reform, pith the lawyers off for a change. There are less of them then there are voters.

    Regarding the “you lie” outburst of Congressman Joe Wilson to Obama’s claim that illegals will not be given access to the new insurance scheme, only one of them can be right.

  11. There is no requirement for the govt to pay for abortions either… In what universe is that not gonna happen? There is an independent panel set up to decide what procedures would be covered. What are the odds that that panel is made up of a majority of social conservatives. Obama has given speeches that clearly state that he expects “reproductive services” to be covered. Personally, I am not opposed to abortion being covered. I just note that this is one more lie from our dear leader. Just like the one where he said he would take public financing for his campaign.

  12. Joe Wilson may have broken protocol but he also apologised for it, though did not retract the sentiment (I hope he later re-states the fact that Obama lied).
    Obama used the speech/invitation to bald azz lie to the nation, is this NOT considered a breach of protocol as well. Someone invites you to give a speech and you come with the full intention to deceive them, is this acceptable these days?
    I know it is politics as usual, but to see the criticism heaped on Wilson while Obam’s transgressions have the potential to stay with us for years/decades is precisely while americans are getting more and more ticked off every day.
    As the sayin goes, don’t peez on my foot and tell me it’s raining!

  14. What’s the rush? Obamacare does not come into effect until 2013; so far, there is still no written plan for it. This gives O plenty of time to juggle the numbers according to his needs.

  15. If the final legislation does not contain language that specifically requires the public option to verify legal status (something that Insurance Companies do today) then the President lied. Next it takes effect in 4 years, when Obama quite possibly is no longer President, this is because it will be an election issue (steady hand …see it through…finish what I started) so who is playing games now?
    The speech was crap, it was condescending and used semantics to side-step the real criticisms from the public. It was political puff and changed nothing except show the US what they elected, a politician who lies better than most.
    “Let me repeat..There is nothing that requires you or your employer to change health care plans” while accurate does not address the concern that businesses will simply opt to pay the payroll tax of 8% to fix health care costs and effectively put millions in the position to take the cheapest option which by design will be the public plan.
    It is not a requirement but it is a consequence of the legislation.

  19. Maybe 17 million people died because his Health Care plan didn’t get passed fast enough. If it’s not passed soon another 17 million will die before the end of the month.

  20. The Donkeys don’t have the votes. So a little bait and switch to bring some Republicans onside. Obama is familiar with how bait and switch works.
    The bill does not contain provisions to specifically exclude illegals, which would certainly orthagonal to the open borders notion that Soros espouses through the OSI.
    If Obama thinks that Republicans can now safely get on board because their constituents were pacified last night, he has grossly miscalculated the damage he has done to his trustworthiness.
    Both Republicans and Democrats are both boiling in the same pot down south – the American people are fed up with the lot of them. And that fire under the pot? kindled with crumpled up op-ed columns from the NYT.

Illegal aliens will get care no matter what, starting on the day that a cute little brown-eyed girl clutching a tattered teddy bear is denied treatment for some nasty disease while being filmed on a tv reporter’s hidden camera. The 9:00 news that night shows the scene and fades out with the girl’s mother softly crying. Next day a few members of the offending hospital’s staff find themselves out on the street with their stuff in cardboard boxes, serving as object lessons to the rest of the nation’s medical providers and universal coverage of illegals commences.

  23. The bill doesn’t contain provisions for excluding illegals. Here’s a quote from another blog:
    “How H.R. 3200 Allows Coverage for Illegal Aliens: 1. Does Not Require Proof of Citizenship to Obtain Health Services: While Section 246 (page 143) of the bill expressly prohibits illegal aliens from receiving government-run healthcare, the bill does not include a specific requirement that a person prove his or her citizenship in order to obtain affordability credits, which means that illegal aliens could obtain coverage.
    Section 152 states that “all health care and related services (including insurance coverage and public health activities) covered by this Act shall be provided without regard to personal characteristics extraneous to the provision of high quality health care or related services”. This provision has the potential to include illegal immigrants because it may interpret “personal characteristics” to include legal status. (Pages 50-51, 143)
    2. Requires That If One Family Member Is Covered, All Members Covered: Another provision states that if one member of a family is afforded coverage all members would have coverage, thereby creating another loophole to give taxpayer-subsidized health care to illegal aliens. If a child of illegal aliens is born in the United States, then the entire family becomes eligible for coverage. Page 133
    3. Requires Free Translation Services: Sections 1222 of the bill will provide free translation services and interpreters to those who are not proficient in English. Section 1728 amends SCHIP to provide translation services to children of families and other individuals for whom English is not the primary language. Pages 408-418 and 782″,
    In other areas, the bill sets up a ‘slippery slope’ movement to public insurance. In companies with private insurance, that company will have to pay an extra TAX! So, it is logical to assume that instead of paying this extra tax, the employer will stop offering private insurance and switch to public.
    And Obama’s ‘thugs’, ACORN etc, will be hired to sign up people for the govt plan.
    Obama uses his basic triad: misinform, emotional manipulation and accusations of bias if you disagree.

    So far the White House has been very short on details.
    As I understand it, there are a number of different drafts coming out of the House of Representatives concerning the actual details of a comprehensive national health care bill.
    I wonder how many of those drafts have been using the 30 million uninsured figure.
    I don’t think the Republicans are going to get behind any bill that doesn’t include tort reform, and the Democrats aren’t going to toss them that particular bone because that has been the sticking point the Democrats have used to keep Republican administrations from reforming health care.
    IF any bill gets passed it will surely be supported by Democrats alone.

    Which would be great, because the sure disaster it’s bound to be will ensure no Democrat is elected to a position higher than city street cleaner from now until the end of time.
    Unfortunately, once it’s done, there’s little we can do to repeal it. And the Dems who cause the disaster get to walk away, with their insurance/doctors/health care significantly better than ours, and not take the blame for anything.

  28. Barack Obama’s healthcare plan is anti-freedom, anti-capitalist, and anti-common sense. It is nothing other than the seizure of private money and private facilities by government. It is not even real socialism, it is fascism. Textbook fascism.
    In addition, Obama is a bigger liar than Bill Clinton. That is something I didn’t think I’d ever see in my lifetime.
    I’m looking back at the Assault Rifle Ban with nostalgia for the good old days. The days when the freaky Lefty people still made an effort to keep their lies and deceptions credible. You compare the effort and money the Dems funneled into the junk science on gun control with this asinine “campaign” for single payer health care. These O-bots are imbeciles compared to the Clintonistas.

    The Heller Amendment was the only way to ensure that people were asked to prove their citizenship status before receiving public funded health care.
    Illegal aliens may be excluded from ObamaCare, but the Democrats have ensured that nobody is going to check to see if they are American citizens before delivering health care to them, thanks to the Democrats killing the Heller Amendment.
    An analogy would be that no one under 18 is entitled to service in a bar, but none of the bar staff ever checks any ID to ensure that minors aren’t served.
