  1. Presumably these agreements were hammered out and both sides are satisfied with the arrangement. These renewal windows are a convenient clause that allow the parties to stay the course without making any more lawyers rich.
    More economic prosperity? Oh, darn!
Gore, Fruitfly, Lizardface- we’re laughing at you.

  2. OMG! Economic growth, job creation, and opportunity do not represent the traditional ‘Saskatchewan way’. I am outraged! Thankfully the NDP has found the missing link 😉 and will work towards correcting these serious mistakes.

  3. Yeah the luddites who publish photos of oilsands emmisions during -40 C will be outraged……

  4. The 65-mpg car Ford won’t sell in US
The Fiesta ECOnetic could compete with hybrids and help remake Ford’s image. But big obstacles are keeping the vehicle out of the US market.
“We know it’s an awesome vehicle,” says Ford America President Mark Fields. “But there are business reasons why we can’t sell it in the U.S.” The main one: The Fiesta ECOnetic runs on diesel.

  5. Can someone explain how tar sand is extracted and turned into oil? IS it mined or strip mined like coal? I see loads of Heavy Catipilar equipment heading north everyday. I am assuming it must be going up there for that industry.

  6. They can strip mine it, like they do at Syncrude in McMurray. There they heat the sand, turn it into a slurry and feed it into separators. In deeper deposits, with too much overburden, they inject steam into the ground and pump up the heated slurry and do the same thing. That’s the kindergarten version; other tricks abound.
