Above His Pay Grade* After All

Is there nothing that Obama can’t do?

Obama Signs Law Banning Federal Embryo Research Two Days After Signing Executive Order to OK It
(CNSNews.com) – On Wednesday, only two days after he lifted President Bush’s executive order banning federal funding of stem cell research that requires the destruction of human embryos, President Barack Obama signed a law that explicilty bans federal funding of any “research in which a human embryo or embryos are destroyed, discarded, or knowingly subjected to risk of injury or death.”
The provision was buried in the 465-page omnibus appropriations bill that Obama signed Wednesday. Known as the Dickey-Wicker amendment, it has been included in the annual appropriations bill for the Department of Health and Human Services every fiscal year since 1996.

C’mon bat, everyone knows that the HillBilly Clinton’s didn’t have sex with each other. However, with regard to Bill’s “not having sex with that whomever” …) once Bill’s semen gets passed his non-sex partner’s tonsils, it’s destroyed by stomach acids.

  3. ET, the “grass roots concern” as you put it looks like people hoarding ammunition. Literally. In lots of places you can’t buy handgun ammunition in a variety of calibers, particularly .380 and 9mm, because there -isn’t any-.

My friends in low places tell me the same thing in Arizona and New York, even stodgy old Minnessota.
People hoard food when they think there’s going to be a famine. Apparently nobody thinks that. They think there is going to be a war declared on them by their own government.
Grass roots “criticism” may get pretty spirited, if you know what I mean. It might be good for the Republicans to get out ahead of that, ditch the smooth politico veneer and start throwing some red meat out there. Dogs don’t bite (as much) when they’re eating.

Here I go again! Shooting my big mouth off but why not I ask myself?
    Everyone else is!
Reading the breathless exclamations of a totally rapt mainstream media one would come to think the oratory of Obama is the best invention since sliced bread.
“Not so” I scream — he’s a bargain basement “full of bullshit” used car salesman and nothing more.
Everytime I’ve heard him speak he loses me in the first 30 seconds because he’s so “obvious” in what he says and how he goes about it. Only a deeply troubled liberal would continue to pay attention and I’m not one of “them”.
I find him totally boring to the point where he puts me to sleep. So whenever he speaks I change the channel.
The truth about “oratory” is this. Those who have the gift speak from the heart. They do not need notes and they do not need a teleprompter.

How do I know all that and what are my qualifications for saying so?”

“…while the moonbats can be super-dumb, aka wrong, wrong, wrong, and get a universal pass by the MSM?
    What “law” is this?”
The answer to that one is easy. They are all operating on the same low level of intelligence, so they really, really do understand each other. Hence the bonding.
Their jobs will all have to disappear. Or their retirement investments will have to bottom out at lower than 25% of past value. Or the liberal middle and lower class will have to see 25% tax increases before the light bulb goes on and they realize that Bush hasn’t been there for a while. Once they begin to turn their gaze toward the incumbent they will discover that there is nobody in the oval office. They elected a absentee landlord. He is off to the next party via Airforce One.

  6. wallyj,
I also don’t necessarily think this was a mistake on Obama’s part. However, you should realize that Bush’s original restriction was only to deny federal funding of embryonic stem cell research (on strains created after 2001).
So Obama has effectively re-instituted Bush’s original executive order. The difference is he made a big show of overturning Bush’s order then silently changed it back. To me this is typical stuff from Obama.

    “looks like people hoarding ammunition”
Not only the US anymore, many ammo shelves are selling out in Canada as well now. Call or see a dealer, the manufacturers in the US can’t keep up and their selling domestically first.
As an avid gun owner Glenn Beck did a segment on it recently (utube).
Prices are soaring and it looks like allot of Canadians are catching on.

I’m still able to get any ammo I want at WalMart (with a bit of travel) and the local Co-Op store. We are far, far from any city of size and the run on ammo isn’t noticable. I’m paying a bit more, but getting what I need. My .40 S&W is easily available. Even finding 12 gauge target and game rounds on sale yesterday.
Besides, most of the people around here are hunters, already well armed, and already had good stocks of ammo.
The impressive growth is in the numbers of first-time buyers. Even anti-gunners are getting in on the action. Nah… no hypocrisy there.

The common hunting rounds are still ok around here for now also- just pricy. It’s pistol and Nato standard ammunition that is going the quickest. (308win), (.223 Rem), (9mm) ect……not surprising of course is hollow point and non target rounds.
Here’s a little calculation I picked up by someone else from another forum on Obamba’s 500% tax increase on ammo.
    Federal Premium Vital-Shok 165gr .308 ammo (20 to a box)
    Price: $39.97
    Obama’s 500% tax increase on ammo: (39.97 X (.11 x 5)) $21.95
    Total cost: $39.97 + $21.95 = $61.92
Obambas plan of attack is to first tax ammo out of the hands of regular people and then ban certain ammo such as all imports including Nato rounds.
    http://virginiashootingsportsassociation.blogspot.com/2009/02/state-department-floating-ammo-import.html
The simultaneous first wave attack will include re-implementing the ban on assault weapons removed in 2004 under the ridiculous guise of protecting Mexico from American assault weapons.

Just the beginning bag of tricks to unarm law abiding American citizens and spit in the face of the Second Amendment!
If you need it you better buy it now.
