In the Liberal mindset “caring for the children” actually means the provision of perks and benefits for adults. It means helping parents spend as little time with their bra … er … children as possible so that they can earn a salary which can then be heavily taxed, thus filling the government coffers in order to fund liberal initiatives of the nanny state.
“Caring for the children” in Lib-speak means that parents should never have the responsibility of caring for their own kids because that method of child rearing raises kids who think for themselves along with parents who aren’t likely to go along with the lib-left-let-the-nanny-state-do-it-all Zeitgeist.
“Perish the thought!” say the lib-left moonbats: Children who think for themselves and who don’t fall into a zombie-like goosestep just won’t do. “When we play our Pied-Piper tune, these kids need to follow us. We don’t want anyone stepping out of line or marching to the tune of a different drummer/piper. That’s a disaster.”
Prime Minister Stephen Harper understands that childcare provided by a parent is far more beneficial to most children than institutional daycare, which is why he’s making sure that parents receive government money, directly, in order to enable parent/s to make decisions about what childcare is going to be most beneficial to their child/ren and their family.
