The border guards reviewed some stuff and said I wasn’t going to be allowed into Canada. To me it seems quite bureaucratic and not at all interesting … If it were me I would have let me in.   5. I am sure he is no threat, but Border refusals are often about past behaviour not future behaviour. Ask anyone with a criminal record who has “served their time”.

    Wonder how Sid Ryan feels about the comments at the bottom, you know about academic freedom etc.
    OISE is a big waste of money anyway. From what I have seen in my kids curriculum the improvements over what learned are marginal and not really worth the money.

    Thanks for the link. Wow unrepentant and mentions that there was a stated intention to murder. The nice thing about border decisions in that when you stop them AT the line you dont really have to answer to a court. Its only if thy get past it.
    What I find interesting is that there was a lawyer there to greet him as well. Maybe there was trouble expected.
    BO cant intervene on his behalf, remeber Barack said he is just a guy in his neighborhood, no links, no favours owed.
    OISE is still a waste of good office space and taxpayer money.

    I didn’t realize it was advisable to travel with or hire a lawyer when entering thru customs. I’ll have to remember that the next time I go down to the US for a weekend.

    It began as a type of refuge for American academics during the Vietnam war; they brought their ‘social justice’, socialist-communist ideology up and the entire building operates in that mode. It’s quite something to walk in and see all the posters about talks, programs, special events etc on the various victims and victimized around the world.

    But I can’t help but remember wanting to go to a talk by anti-terrorist activist Walid Shoebat in Ottawa, but he was denied entry because of his admitted terrorist past, even though he had letters from the US Homeland Security and had been allowed entry into Canada previously.

    Are you attempting to say that Mr. D., the Polish man tasered at the Vancouver airport for thowing around a computer in frustration compares with the rejection of the terrorist from Chicago? Mr. D was irrational because he was (probably) suffering from stress and nicotine deprivation (a two packer a day cut off by vicious irrational anti tobacco laws for 19 hours) OR from an overdose of nicotine via nicotine drugs thus speeding up his heart and causing irrational behavior (look up nicotine overdose); if you were never in Poland during the USSR dictatorship you would not understand the lack of relevance that a bank robbery charge would have in that corrupt system. I did not know that Mr. D was an alcoholic – do you have a link? Billy boy Ayres is a hater of people, he is an elitist who cannot bear to see the people he considers sub human (that would be you and me, Bruce) to be free to come and go as we please and to say what we think. Do not put our Police on the line for another unrelated (in every way) border incident – have you checked to ascertain that the police called to the Vancouver Airport were alerted by the Airport bureaucrats that Mr. D. was a chain smoker who was under stress and had not had a cigarette in 19 hours?

The PC anti smoker people hating crowd are on the hook for the Airport incident…and futher it begs the question of the President Elects tobacco habit..how are the anti smoking crowd going to spin that smoke out of the spiderweb.     Let’s not forget that “various factors” also include electric shocks and 200+ lb cops jumping on his chest and kneeling on his neck.
    Normally I will give the police a lot of latitude when dealing with suspects, but this case is an exception. His actions did not merit the response he received, period! Allegations of alcoholism and a bum ticker or nicotine deprivation have bugger all to do with it.

    “Equity” and “social justice” in education. Translation: If you are too indifferent or disorganized to learn, if you are too drug-addled or gang-affiliated to pay attention to your schooling, we will pass you anyway. And we will work our butts off at political activism to get taxpayers to subsidize your molly-coddling and prevent you from arriving at your well-deserved fate.
    Bill Ayers has been “social justice activist” since the 1960s when he became “known for his anti-war efforts”.. Ha ha, that’s a good one, OISE!
