Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

And you can just bet that the Sheeple in the Canadian Media are nodding and saying “Uh huh, uh huh, yup, that makes sense.”
Question: If Nixon had been a Democrat, would there have been a Watergate?
‘Course not, Kate…. Breaking into your own party’s HQ isn’t a crime *grin*
wow tanker, that’s exactly what Democrat criminals would do, break into the wrong office.
/slap
“Question: If Nixon had been a Democrat, would there have been a Watergate?”
Answer (as if you need one): No it would not have resulted in POTUS resigning, because the media wankers who pushed the destroy-Nixon agenda would have instead suppressed the issue.
I was just wondering, since ‘blogies’ governorship is under investigation and if he is charged does he still appoint the senator.
Global national poll shows Canadians prefer PM Harper 63% versus 23%for Iggy at 6:45 pm atlantic time. That’ll scare the CPC Not!
Maybe Obama is choosing Clinton people because they are experienced at covering up wrongdoings and he needs the help now and later.
Great teams.
The investigation was halted before Obama was incriminated.
Who except us in the blogosphere will ever know?
If it was not for blogs…. would I have ever known about any of this?
It’s Not The Crime
It’s the cover-up.
and it makes the main stream media an accomplice…
So, Obama’s got Harry Potter’s Invisibility Cloak shielding him.
‘Just watched Gwen Ifill on Jim Lehrer’s News Hour, looking extremely uncomfortable and not daring to ask the other two talking heads about Obama’s connection to the disgraced governor which, rather unbelievably, they adroitly avoided: a pre-interview agreement?
Like I said to my husband: Obama’s black and he’s a Democrat. ‘Kind of ensures that he’s untouchable, doesn’t it?
If he changed his name to Mitch it could be a weekly TV show.
Just waiting for someone to say “I’m not a crook”.

in lefty-speak “mispoke” means you’re telling the truth
Doug, buddy, I guess you and I don’t see the same funny in that statement – seeing that the Watergate scandal is named after the Watergate Office complex housing the Democratic National Committee at the time. I still think Kate’s question was a hoot. The real question of course would be “would Nixon still have been indicted for abetting a break-in into the Republican National Committee offices if he’d been a democrat”. Can’t help it, dude… I have this thing about malapropisms
BTW… you slap like a girl *grin*
While it’s unlikely that Obama was directly involved in something so stupid, the question that does need to be asked in light of Axelrod’s earlier assertion that Obama had talked to the Governor is:
“Was Obama aware his Senate seat was for sale, and if so, why didn’t he inform the authorities of a crime?”
On the evidence so far I would say that Obama is likely to have known the Governor was trying to cut a deal in return for cash. And since Obama has been a close supporter of the Governor going back at least 6 years, it’s pretty likely he was aware of many other misdeeds as well.
I’m sure the press will get around to it in 2016.
I wonder how many Senate seats have been sold by the Liberals over the years. Remember this is an example of why offices of importance should be elected.
The question is whether a Canadian senate seat is important anymore?
Agree with Simeon, this investigation was ended early,BIG pressure from someone, normally they would wait for some money to change hands. Tainted Saint=BHO
The main stream media has become, in my view, the main accomplis in the mistrust the general public has in the science, legal and political worlds of today. By taking sides they have allowed these people of their ilk and ideology a free ride to mislead the public knowing that they will not be called out to substanciate their findings rulings or claims.
The media is now like a mass murder taunting the police to catch him. With their biased strangulation of fact, omission and the innuendo laden ridicule of those that would disagree they have replaced trust with scepticism and honor in a profession with dishonor. I don’t blame the shady politician for his antics and lies as much as I blame the media for failing to give me a balanced assessment of the facts on which I can draw my own conclusions. Today’s MSM has killed the trust in themselves and the ethics of journalism.
I used to enjoy sitting down at the end of the day to watch the news and catch up on what had happened. Now when I watch the news, maybe twice a month, I don’t go away thinking that’s what happened, I go away wondering IF that’s what happened.
“President-elect Barack Obama called for Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to resign on Wednesday, hours after the embattled governor reported for work amid charges he plotted to sell Obama’s vacant Senate seat.”
So the new office of “President-elect” is calling for him to resign. This ego maniac Obama has invented an office just for himself.
Where is Bush? as far as I know he is still the President.
Who will sell/buy/auction Hillory or Bidens seats.
Hillory will wait to see if she is confirmed, like all the rest of those appointees.
Without a majority in the Senate, some of them might have a tough time.
Lbj Bugged RMN’s campaign plane and got away with it. JFK’s Dad bought the VA primary in’60 and then daley in Illinois thus the presidency and got away with both. So the odds are in favour of BO getting off.
There are however reasons why this may be different – that BO term as president could be agonizing and short – reasons that have to do with this case. The main reason is that the judge who is engaged in this scandal is the same one running the Rezko case to ground. Many in the BO camp were counting on terminating this judge along with a whole lot of other presidentially appointed judges under the cover that it is customary to do so. The publicity of this senate sale case prevents BO from doing it – it would look too obvious.
And is Rezko and what he may cop to that worries BO not the Senate sale case…
Additionally like nixon and unlike the examples I provided above there is a case before the courts – crimes have been committed and the regular investigation and plea-bargaining is what brought down Nixon and may bring down BO.
Also we now have Fox News, the blogosphere and maybe even more significantly, a wounded print media that has many investigative journos wondering where their next meal is coming from. Such was not the case in the fat, happy, soused-by-2:45-in-the-afternoon press corps days of the sixties.
My suggestion to readers of this post is to watch what is happening around Rezko than worry too much about this latest act of “Crook” County.
This latest from my dear, benighted state is just part and parcel — we grows them really crooked in the Chi (said with the most loving of sarcastic tones)
However, this deal with Blago and the Rezcko deal are very closely related — Blago’s wife is in real estate by the by, and her daddy was Mell, ex alderman, not very clean, ties to a certain lady with the first intitial of M and her family I believe, plus the esteemed Mayor Daley (another person who the IL press is saying just may very well end up in this thing before it’s done). Plus, Rahm (the person that’s suspected of dropping the dime on Blago), Obama, and Blags were tight as ticks here in Chicago. O and R basically ran B’s campaign, and they’re the ones credited with getting him the win (which took some doing, as the man is not popular here — zombie vote for sure). Anyway, it’s a close relationship between the major players here, and some not mentioned (some of the ones not mentioned being the primary movers and shakers here, and their the ones O has to really worry about — they haven’t been happy since this summer, they don’t like the light of day).
Right now Blago can still name the senate seat — and whoever he names has an albatross around their neck (Valerie Jarrett and JJ Jr. are already smeared a bit — with the important people, the ones in the Chi, not us peons thanks to this); he’s also not stepping down like O kindly asked him to today, and what’s more even hinted that someone else’s wife was just as guilty of appointment bennies from hubby as his was, if not more so.
things are going to get very interesting — at the very least it will be fun to watch the media spin.
I’ll never be able to look at my commemorative plate in the same way.
Gonna be a blast watchin’ you guys try and twist every non-event into a bodice-heaving ‘scandal’ for the next eight years.
BTW, Kate – that answer to your Watergate question is Clinton’s impeachment for his sexual indiscretion – matched up with Nixon’s pardon for his fascist subversion of the Constitution.
To say nothing of the pro-torture, pro-lying to the American people disaster you losers have been fellating over the past 8 years!
Thanks for the laughs provided by your link to Steyn – it’s quite the hoot to think you righties believe this tin-eared, hamfisted purveyor of witless homilies is the rightwing version of Oscar Wilde. Yes, Steyn, to observe that the Blago scandal is an “unwelcome distraction” for Obama – in the same way a new eruption of Keating 5-like troubles would be an “unwelcome distraction” for McCain if her were the Pres-elect – means the media is in the bag for Obama.
No doubt! Absolutely!
real , you are much more entertaining posing as a mussi.
eat pork!!!
Real: So selling a senator’s seat is a non event… and having connections to the seller is a non event… and having ones assistants talking with the seller is a non event. Who is fellating now?
Try as I might, having read Sheldon Alberts’s big article on it in today’s National Post, and a CNN article on it, too, http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/12/10/illinois.governor/index.html, I am no wiser as to which party it is that the Governor is a member of.
I shall have to come to my own conclusions. I shall apply my Truth Seeker litmus test. That would be as follows: if it is bad conduct on the part of an elected official and the media doesn’t scream out ‘Republican’ or ‘GOP’ every sentence or so, it means the perp in question must be a Democrat.
Jim O’Brien
Fitzgerald himself said this didn’t involve Obama. So as far as Obama is concerned it’s a non-event. There is no scandal here in regards to Obama – according to the prosecutor. Ergo, Ringmaster Kate and her peanut gallery of rightards are salivating over a scandal which does not exist – in terms of Obama.
Now – please return to fellating the most hated President in the history of the United States of America.
Alan:
Why would Bush want Blag-off to resign? I’m sure he’d prefer to see Blag-off in the headlines for the next six weeks, smearing Democrats directly and the Mobomassiah indirectly. Plus I’m sure Bush is pleased that the massive US coverage of our political crisis is keeping the US MSM occupied. :}
Real: Well if it had been John McCain you and the rest of the left would have been all over it…. I’m a Canadian and I am not interested in fellating any American President…thank you. Perhaps your leftist friends are though?

Hey Truth seeker
Seek out the truth in the above link and you’ll see that Blago has been pretty consistently noted as a Democrat in the media across the board – unlike the whining and false insinuation of yourself and fellow whiner Michelle Malkin.
Cheers.
“Now – please return to fellating the most hated President in the history of the United States of America.”
History will show Bush to have been a great President.(as well as Reagan)
Now, as far as how history will remember Clinton and Carter, your last two Presidents…
By the way, don’t lefty trolls ever get tired of losing every argument?

“Fitzgerald himself said this didn’t involve Obama. So as far as Obama is concerned it’s a non-event.”
You are wrong. Fitzgerald did not say “this didn’t involve Obama”. What Fitzgerald said was that Obama was not-a-part-of-this-affidavit. That is why EVERY attorney on Obama’s staff immediately went to a private spot and broke into a personal sweat. Your claim and Fitzgerald’s actual comment mean different things in a lawyer’s world.
Hey Doolweb
You’re quite the progonosticator.
Unlike yourself, I won’t hazard guesses about the future. I do know that at present Bush is the most hated President in US history.
How they’ll regard Clinton in the future? Dunno. But his poll numbers were in the seventies when the Repubs were impeaching him for personal indiscretions – considerably more than two times what Bush’s numbers have been for the last year…
As for Carter, Doolie…well, he won a little thing called the Nobel prize – as Clinton’s VP Al Gore did.
Any Repub Prezzes done the same lately?
Nope – lefty trolls don’t get tired of losing arguments – ’cause they never do – not at SDA! 😉
While Jessie Jackson, Jr. is robustly denying any involvement in the Chicago dustup his daddy, Jessie Jackson, Sr. is busy lawyering up. Now, why might that be necessary.
If Blag decides prison may not be the career move he had in mind, and decides to roll over on “friends & enemies”, attorneys could become in short supply in the Windy City. Of course that assumes that Blag doesn’t become Jimmy Hoffa II, the sequel, and end up sleeping with the fishes in Lake Michigan.
“In two other interesting developments Wednesday, NBC Chicago learned that Jackson Jr. was given a phone call from the U.S. Attorney’s Office the night before the governor was taken into custody, advising him that the arrest was imminent. Also, the congressman’s father, Jesse Jackson Sr., has retained legal council following the Blagojevich arrest”
UGH.. I just woke up.
Someone say something about “felating”? Pass some this way, if you don’t mind….
Wait – there are TWO Jessie Jacksons now?
Isn’t this a sign of the apocalypse (or at least some kind of weird, science-fictioney duplicity of icons that results in an inward warping of reality onto itself)?
And if this can be possible, would this mean that there actually might be a good, non-hated version of George Bush somewhere, but maybe in an alternative universe or somesuch?
I think more research is necessary. Perhaps some of the AGW money could be redirected.
I suppose if Yasser Arafat can earn a Nobel Prize… then it has to be good enough for a Democrat ex-president and a Democrat vice-president.
If the Democrats hadn’t stolen the 1960 election from Nixon, specifically in Illinois, an election Kennedy won in the electoral college, but not the popular vote, would Nixon have felt compelled to spy on them?
Let me give you some numbers from the Carter Era, numbers achieved by following policies Obama embraces.
Unemployment 10%
Mortgage Interest Rates 18%
Inflation? I don’t remember off hand, but it was pretty high, hence the 18% mortgage rates.
But he did win a prize which is given out by a small group of Nowegian politicians and which shares a name with the other, more prestegious prizes, and only fools idiots like “real”.
Addendum to Real on media bias:
Search Altavista for “Mark Foley” AND “arrested” AND “Republican” – get 439,000 results worldwide.
Search it for “Mark Foley” AND “arrested” with NO mention of “Republican” – get 162,000 results worldwide.
3:1 in the OPPOSITE direction.
The bias is so obvious to those on the outside, looking in and seeking some form of objectivity. It’s generally those who are part of it who can’t see it. There is the odd, brave, exception, and for that honesty they are excoriated, again by those who are so immersed in the darkness they are blind to it.
