So the other day
the Premier
released figures stating that the Liberal Green Shaft
would cost users of SaskPower (everyone) an extra $230 a
year.
Goodale questioned the figures. Fortunately for Ralph, Bob
Rae was in town and he took the role of attack dog calling
out the Premier.
“Premier Wall better just be ready for it. If he’s going
to get in as a leader of the Sask. Party and get into a
partisan debate, then he can expect the same in return. If
he wants to get into the ring, he should get into the
ring, and we’ll take him on,” Rae added.
And there ladies and gentlemen is the difference between the
Liberals and the CPC. Prime Minister Harper in Newfoundland and
Labrador limited his comments about Danny to, “He’s only
one vote.”
It would appear that Premier Wall is quite fine with being
called out.
Premier
Equates Green Shift To NEP.
I guess Bob Rae is too busy trying to keep his leader from
putting both feet in to come
to Ralph’s
aid today.
Update: The Star Phoenix story:
“If we could build a time machine and go back in time before the National Energy Program . . . if you asked Mr. (Peter) Lougheed this question or others involved in politics at the time, maybe Mr. (Allan) Blakeney, if they could go back and try to draw attention to the fact that this particular policy would not just harm the West but harm the country’s economy, people would take that chance, people would want to be proactive with respect to that policy. I think we ought to be on this.
“We ought to be saying very clearly to the people of Saskatchewan, here are the impacts of all of these initiatives,” he told reporters outside his legislature office.
Cheers,
lance
I would like to know how much a “Green Shift” tax consultant would cost if this insanity continues.
I think Brad Wall should just tell Commie Rae,the Power Corp front man,to keep out of Saskatchewans business and take his ass back to Ontario where it belongs.
Brad Wall is right…the Green Shaft is just another form of NEP! This will be the end of Ralphy!
More Liberal threats. Somebody should repost the Librano’s picture! Time to start up the blog and get the word out!
Boob Rae, please take you province breaking economic plan back to Ontario where the folks with no memorys will elect your type. Westerners are blessed with memorys, we remember the NEP, we remember the HRDC, we remember the idiots like Peeair,Marc Alan Rock and all your liberal money stealing ways. Harper was able to lower the GST 2 points because that was the amount the theiving liberals were taking out of the federal treasury in brown envelops, amazing how much you liberals stole. Brad wall will step into the ring with you Boob any time, maybe it best you slither back under the Ontario rock you came from.

Er .. wouldn’t that be more appropriately, China?
I just heard Layton bleating about helping the auto industry in Ontario, while wanting Alberta to produce less gas and oil. How does the idiot square that circle.
More cars good … less gas … good? .. Yes that’ll work.
Time to get a horse.
Let me toss this out … tax the polluters ala green shaft … the polluters who sell us live giving energy and other products simply raise their prices down the line and we pay for the tax at the consumer level.
If those ‘polluters’ and their shareholders ( you and me) cannot make a good return of investment, they will lay off workers (you and me) they will then relocate where they are treated better.
Then we have shortages, fewer job opportunities, more taxation to support the unemployed and a collapsing economy.
Man made collapsing economy. Billions of lost dollars. Now that’s what I call a ‘green shift’.
Have I got that right?
Finally a western Premier who is willing to “go to the Wall” (pardon the pun) for the people of his Province.
I see the pitting of central Canada (Sask.) against Eastern Canada (NFLD) here, the Puffins are and always have been ‘home wreckers’ here in Canada but this is over the top! What is soft spongy Boob rhi going to do in a boxing ring with the fit, young, ex football player Brad Wall, Premier of Sask?
I blame larry errr gordie (it is sooo easy to confuse them these days!) campbell in B.C. for starting this carbon tax thingie to fund his VANCOUVER Olympics. He knew he was inventing a slush fund for himself and he knew people would hate it; he did it anyway before brother Deyawn had a chance to pull the wool over our eyes and get the tax on the track without a test run. Now the wheels are falling off the Deyawn train and big bad Brad Wall forces Deyan’s over the hill body guard to defend him against an opponent with a real punch.
EEt issn’t fair! Go get gordie boob, he is the one who started this.
Great entertainment; my beer and popcorn are well stocked…let the games begin.
Meanwhile…back in the adult room, we are supporting PMSH because we love our country.
Whats funny is that all the municipalities have just figured out that the carbon tax shaft in BC will drive their costs up significantly for heating buildings, transportation and transit so they will have to raise property taxes to compensate. Now that is really revenue neutral isn’t it…. They are passing motions asking for compensation for carbon tax increases or exemption from it. They should calculate the increase and submit the bill the Premier Cambell other wise it comes out of our pockets.
This really is a tax on “everything” as it adds costs to all transported goods, if you don’t walk down to the farm and pick those potatoes yourself then you have paid carbon tax on them as well. This is just coming into the heating season as well so expect higher bills for natural gas, heating oil etc. I have told my gas supplier that I am considering switching to all electric due to the “shaft”, might as well pass on the shafting to someone else…..
Private Snowball may think he knows Herbert Hoover, but he sure as hell doesn’t know Calvin Coolidge.
Bob Rae – go jump in a lake, and keep your frikkin clothes on this time.
Is this a good idea? If Wall frames the debate as Ontario taking from Saskatewan & Alberta, I fear too many Ontario voters will have no moral problem with that.
I was watching CBC & Jack Layton. He is funding “All” his Social Programs with big BAD Carbon Taxes.
Demonize OIL and then TAX everyone & everything to do with energy. The cost at the pump will go up to ~$5.00 a liter, the socialist wealth SHIFT has no limit. Its an Economic disaster
It seems that NDP supporters are all in Jobs that are not threatened by the collapse of the economy. It’s easy to take from others when there are not any personal consequences. Why promise Day care to families that will not have Jobs.
Maybe we, as a “just” society, should consider outsourcing those “safe” Jobs. Government Administration to India, Education to a global Group, CBC to the BBC.
In the USA we should move the Pacific fleet to Alaska.
If I was Wall I’d say:
“I don’t need advice on how to run our province from the man who almost bankrupted Ontario.”
Oh Bob Rae, why all the huff and puff? Don’t come into our province, and tell our duly elected premier what he is allowed to say. Your threats are a joke. I have seen you debate, and Brad Wall will have you for lunch. The comparison between the proposed Liberal Green Shaft and the NEP is apt. You and your new buddies in the Liberal Party are not going to pull that one again. Try it, and you’ll be busy trying to figure out how you are going to exist without energy from the west. I did enjoy you heralding the fact that you are “not an anonymous Liberal”. You are right. You are a failed socialist who thought he was going to lead the much vaunted Liberals to a new majority government after Paul Martin exited stage left. Unfortunately for you, Howdy Doody stole your spot, and now he’s busy flying the Liberal plane into the ground. Go back to Ontario. If we ever want your opinion on anything, we’ll ask. Same goes for Danny Williams.
Bob Rae is a socialist hack and an opportunist. Such as coming up the middle in his one-off win. It’s quite telling of the Liberal’s ideology (or lack thereof)that they would welcome him so deeply into their party. It also could be a small window into the future, concerning a melding of the Libs and NDP.
Many Sask posters have taken the opportunity of this story to attack Ontario’s voters, as is their usual practice.
As I’ve previously stated, MILLIONS in Ontario are also sick of these leftist’s and their nutzoid policies.
As with most, if not all, large cities in Canada, Toronto’s population seems to have a fascination with leftist parties.
I think it’s partially
because of the high proportion of residents who are in a state of bliss because of never seeing a tax or heat bill.
Unfortunately, because of Toronto’s sheer size, they tend to swing many provincial and federal votes.
Possibly we conservatives should take a lesson from Bob Rae above, and leave the snarky remarks to our babbling opponents.
I guess the provincial NDP government that you guys kept in power for 16 years, may have slipped your mind?
Swatter said: If we ever want your opinion on anything, we’ll ask. Same goes for Danny Williams.
This whole ABC thing by Williams is just another talking point for the media.
Williams is a eastern politician brought up on the dole from the rest of the country.
His constant screaming and whining about Ottawa, is just his schtic to keep himself in power.
I beleive Canadians love our eastern province and her people.
Newfoundlanders need to understand that their entire population is approximatly 100,000 people LESS than the city of Hamilton.
Hamilton gets no equalization payments.
