   So he’s saying that there “everyone knows” there are knuckle-draggers in the CPC. If everyone knows this, then this should be backed up by facts. It was not, and thus it’s an opinion. An offensive one, at that.
   Now, I don’t dispute his right to have an offensive opinion and to voice it. However, a) being a “reporter” and not an editorialist, his job is not to offer opinions. It is to report facts. “Everybody knows” is not fact enough not to be called an opinion. I want names, man. b) it is also my right to email CTV, the CBSC and advertisers telling them that an offensive opinion was disguised as “fact” by Fife, and that I intend not to watch their sneering programs or buy their advertised products until a full apology and retraction are made, or until he names who these “knuckle-draggers “are.
   That‘s what it’s about.

14. I phoned CTV last night to ask if Fife had been fired yet or maybe sent to Toronto as punishment.
    I talked to a person and he said he would pass my comments on to higherups. He did say my call was one of many. I wonder if Fife will ever be invited on any future trips with the PM.
    What really scares me is that these reporters are on the planes and buses with the leaders during an election. I am still waiting for a reply to my e-mail to Fife, telling him I was a proud knuckledragger and was sorry all his, and others at ctv, a–kissing over the years to protect liberals would not get him a senate seat in the foreseeable future.
    Tabor says those over 40 can’t/wont change their minds, yet she is estactic over Rae becoming a liberal and being elected. Is he still a closet NDPer. While Dion is planning his invasion of Pakistan, NDPers are invading the liberal party, and being welcomed with open arms. These liberals should remember Newtons law, for every action there is a reaction. We can only hope the reaction to Fife will be his retirement. And Tabor has admitted that there is no way the media will change its mind re PMSH, as most are over 40.

15. A note of interest for those who do not watch O’Reilly Factor on Fox.
    In seven years from the time of its inception the O’Reilly factor now out draws all other cable news programs in the US, by far.
    O’Reilly on air regularly labels the US MSM as leftist and “corrupt” because of their leftist spin.
    Clearly his program is successful because of the demand for a different balanced view.
    Canada sadly does not have a corporate MSM willing to take the same road as FOX.
    Therefore we have exactly the same leftist corporate MSM in the tank with the Greenies, the Taliban appeasing ND’s and Libs with absolutely no conservative voice such as O’Reilly or Hannity in TV or newspaper for that matter.
    The best we have right now is the internet with SDA, head and shoulders above all for drawing power and putting forth conservative grass roots opinions.
    For now all we can hope to do is mock and jeer the likes of Fife, Taber, Craig Oliver, all CBC yappers, as well as CanWest Global for their toxic anti-conservatives spin and particularly Stephen Harper’s minority government.
    All I can conclude from the situation is Canadian MSM, as in the USA are corrupt.
    And corruption enablers, as we have seen for decades past.

16. Upon reflection, and reading all the comments here, I have come to a conclusion.

    Robert Fife, in that uTube clip Kate posted, looks like the kind of guy who hires people to change his light bulbs. The kind of guy who would call CAA if he had a flat. The kind of guy who can’t say “knuckle draggers” without choking, because he’s such a delicate blossom.
    He looks, in short, a perfect pansy. A man with bones like a chicken. I bet he polishes his fingernails. I have no idea if he’s gay or not, but gay men of my acquaintance would call him Nellie. (That’s not a good thing.)
    His stated objections to Wall and Lukiwski are not the source of his bias. The real reason he calls the CPC caucus “knuckle [choke, fumble] draggers” is that they aren’t part of the “in” crowd. They aren’t “cool”. Their opinions and actions fall outside accepted, established norms of coolness in Ottawa. They have the bad taste to challenge the long accepted status quo of Trudeaupian multi-culti socialism and interfere with its much beloved gravy train.
    Being called a knuckle dragger by such a man is a badge of honor. I think the CPC caucus should have Homopithicus lapel pins made up and wear them every day for question period.
    Far from asking the CTV to make Robert Fife shut up, I say he should be on more. Daily, in fact. Don’t be shy, Mr. Fife! Speak on!

    To answer I am going to use an illustration from a popular movie. I believe it is MEN IN BLACK II where the Tommy Lee Jones character is trying
    to remember where he put his watch. At last it comes to him and he opens a drawer full of tiny aliens who are worshipping his watch thinking that the giver of the watch must be God himself. The Will Smith character says something to the effect about these poor little creatures thinking that their little drawer is the entire universe. At which time Tommy Lee Jones kicks open a door and shows Will Smith that we are in fact doing the same thing.
    By his/her comments I think Quimby is simply bowing before the newest dayglow watch that someone has placed in Quimby’s little universe.
    Quimby’s spews are based on “intellectual” puffery that has long lost its connection with reality. Informing people that their every carnal wish or whim does not need to be fulfilled is not hateful or disrespectful. Quimby however falls into his/her own trap by banning the thoughts he/she deems homophobic, he/she is setting a standard just as those who say that homosexuallity is destructive to the people who live the lifestyle. If Quimby can set a standard and I hope he/she has more than nasty names to defend that standard then the person opposite is also justified in setting and defending their standard.
    The point of this entire article and others like it is to point out the hypocracy of journalists like Fife who resort to slander rather than debate when they hear something they don’t agree with.

    I haven’t read the posts past yours so I don’t know if it has been addressed so here it goes.
    There are LAWS of Gravity, there is the THEORY of evolution (which is separate from the theory of natural selection which is better understood and supported by fact.)
    Evolution is the “best guess” whereby gravity has been proven (although there are still small gaps in our understanding – especially in astrophysics. Very interesting stuff that I don’t understand…)
    This isn’t to say that the alternative is religion. It’s not. Just don’t over-sell the science. Science is fluid and changing. It would be boring if it were any other way.
    There is a gaping chasm between the theory of evolution and “proving” it, completing it, explaining it. There are many holes to fill. It may be completed or it may be discarded by new information. That is the nature of science.
    This atheist doesn’t like it when the religious try to pollute science with believe not supported by fact. Don’t make science into just another religion – we have Al Gore for that.
    Pretending that the choices are binary between an absolute belief in Evolution or an absolute believe in Genesis puts you on par with religious dogma.

Out here on the left coast I noticed three women reading the front page of the Vancouver Province displayed in the newspaper box[note they didn’t purchase the paper to finish reading the article as it was only the headline displayed].Anyways there was a father who murdered his three children,big news,everyone heard about it as that’s all that was on the news for two days,These women had not heard of it yet,their first time they ever heard mention of it.I suspect that most people have better things to do with their lives than to listen to the news.My point is most people are more concerned about what’s going on in their daily lives and are completely disengaged from what the media spews.

    Did Quimby add any sort of substantial counter argument? Was his brain able to distinguish between fact and feeling? Did he immediately resort to ad hominem attack as a strategy that trumps all arguments?

    No, you are incorrect. Modern physics describes gravitation using the general theory of relativity, but the much simpler Newton’s law of universal gravitation provides an approximation in most cases. Newton’s theory has been superseded.

    It is not surprising, but still unsettling, how quickly said community has taken over and commenced to control what’s left of the social debate concerning their sexual proclivities. Although time has numbed many of us to the outrageous “1984-like” commandeering of the language by gay activists and their sympathizers, it still grates to see examples like “Vriend was fired because he was gay”. Err, not really – he was fired because his hiring by a Christian college was predicated on his willingness to abide by the tenets of the religious faith that was the college’s primary mission to promulgate and, upon being advised by Vriend when he emerged from the closet that he wasn’t prepared to abide by said tenets, the college dismissed him. Important fact that has disappeared in the mists of time – Vriend never filed a “wrongful dismissal” law suit, presumably because he would have lost – he was not “wrongfully dismissed”.
    As for Vriend’s demand that AB’s human rights legislation be amended to include sexual orientation, it would be nice to have him and his like preface the demand by citing the dozens of examples of substantive discrimination against gays that have transgressed in AB subsequent to the ruling in his “landmark” case, or for that matter BEFORE his “landmark” case (I’ve always wondered why, if substantive discrimination against gays in AB was as rampant as we’ve all been led to believe, the best “guinea pig” the gay community could come up with was someone working at a Christian college that, as noted above, would never have been held to have wrongfully dismissed any employee that refused adhere to the tenets of its core faith and which would be excluded out of any amendment to human rights legislation to include “what I like to do in my bedroom” as a class of protected persons anyway).
    Enough ranting – I’ve got to get some iodine on my knuckles.

    where I come from that term does NOT relate to
    rednecks, as most are assuming he meant.
    “knuckle draggers” refers to MONKEYS and by extension blacks.
    My complaint to CTV asks how can Fife call Pm Harpers cabinet and all who support the federal conservatives ..NIGGERS.. and get away with it?
    Fife is a racist extrordinare…according to him all conservatives are niggers…!
