    I also wish to claim my right to point out that:
    (i) s/he looks like a direct descendant of a mating of man & donkey;
    (ii) s/he is completely illiterate in the common language of his/her residence; and,
    (iii) s/he should definitely wear a burqua 24/7.

  13. Oh hi, resident skeptic here. I’ve looked at Dinosaur’s original picture under 5x magnification. The picture above could be one of those people. On the other hand, it’s not clear. I don’t find any other Google images. I don’t find any Google references at all except the original Facebook page, the wayn.com profile, and that surrounding the Dinosaur and Darcy discussions.
    If someone set up a fake wayn.com profile, and then complained to Dinosaur (from a Calgary IP), and Darcy found the fake profile, then it is possible that the image above is not representative, and the fanatical postings to Dinosaur and Darcy’s site are deliberately designed to exploit a Facebook fraud. Though I freely admit that I may be missing some critical datum that the rest of y’all know; is there any non-circumstantial evidence?

  20. I think that, for once, Iberia is on track. That photo shows no feminine or even “butch” fem traits. Moreover, it’s damned hard to imagine a wild-eyed Islamist woman wearing her hair like that or being photographed without a hijab.
    I smell a hoax – at least witrh respect to the photo.

    Real Free Speechers never use the word threaten in this context. I expected to read an actual threat to person, not a “threat” to get a lawyer, which is not an actual threat. As a thought excercise, if I say the sun will rise tomorrow, am I threatening you with a sunrise? ‘Course not.
    The word threat has taken on a whole new meaning in this age and should be used sparingly and accurately.
    You know the deal: women and homosexuals talk the filthiest trash and when you give it back to them they, without fail, claim to be threatened. Maybe you need to be a white heterosexual male under 40 to understand.
    Anyway, it – fake threat claims – represents a restriction on free expression orders of magnitude more prevalent and egregious in day to day life than anything the HRCs have done.

  32. As a lesbian, I vote that Khalil is male. I’ve seen some fat ugly dykes, that pic doesn’t look female to me, even in that context.
    I wonder why the police didn’t wait until the skimmer was in place and try to catch a few criminals farther up the line, as well as get much more serious charges of fraud and theft. We know the spelling bee champ wasn’t the top of that food chain.

  43. Phantom, I believe most of the same things you believe.
    A question I want to ask you, though, is how do you view the role of SDA, and the conservative blogosphere in general.
    1) It is a place for people frustrated with the current social and political order to come and vent to others who feel the same way?
    2) It is a place from which real societal change can be effected through the meeting of like minds, sharing of information, and development of strategies for advancing the common-sense right of centre ideals that people here have.
    If you feel that SDA is simply option 1, then rant away. But if you feel that option 2 is true in whole or in part, then do you think that the various rants we have seen on this thread are helpful, counterproductive, or neither? I believe them to be counterproductive.
    If and until we can convince a majority of voting Canadians that the left-lib-multi-culti-nanny-state-victim-culture experiment is an abymsmal failure, progress cannot be made. We will not accomplish this with angry and petty rants directed at pathetic societal failures.

    I think that the purpose of SDA is whatever Kate wants it to be.
    And as she is editor, she is able to delete anything she wishes to.
    My view is that it is not our province as commenters to decide issues which are Kate’s to determine.
    It doesn’t appear that she has chosen to delete most of the comments on this thread, so I think we have to conclude that she feels OK about it.

    I have never stopped telling blonde jokes, fat jokes, ethnic jokes etc. because they are funny and I believe most people can and do laugh at themselves.
    I speak freely when ever I want to and where ever I want to. I don’t just demand the right to speak freely I just do it. I am not waiting for anyone to tell me when it’s okay.
    That is how is should be, just say whatever the f**k you want and let the chips fall where they may. I don’t suggest being deliberately overly rude or tasteless, but don’t allow yourself to feel controlled. A joke is a joke, let’s hear it.
    I don’t worry about people who will object to my speaking freely, those are people I don’t want for friends, co workers, employers or employees.

    No. The reason for being for blogs is not to solicit opinion.
    It is to express opinion.
    A subtle – you understand – but important difference.
    So think of it like being in someone’s house John. If you say something the owner of the house objects to, they are well within their rights to toss you out, and it’s got nothing to do with free speech.

  48. My belief is that blogs serve the purpose of public discourse on a variety of issues. Politics is a passion of mine, therefore SDA is a daily read for me. Unfortunately SDA has more than it’s fair share of haters. Fortunately like me a lot of them hate the disease of liberalism.
    If I want to read truly idiotic comments the Globe and Mail provides the most fodder.
    Mr. Kinsella is dead wrong when he attacks kate for being racist. I find most of her comments based on race to be realistic rahter than idealistic.
