If An NDP Candidate Resigns In Lanark-Frontenac-Lennox & Addington

Does anyone in media hear?

It has largely been the communication process that has been entirely dissatisfying for me. A multitude of letters on this issue and on others have gone unanswered. Suggestions and ideas go ignored. Requests for candidate support are filtered into a neverland and never addressed. No attention is given to this riding by the party, despite significant issues that ought to garner the attention of a party dedicated to social justice. Virtually all communication to me as a candidate has been unsolicited advertising and message packages to campaign on. A Jack Layton BBQ apron I never asked for, recorded telemarketing, the message box. What this tells me is that a candidate in an insignificant riding, I’m merely an advertising rep for Jack Layton. Communication is one-way and top-down. It just doesn’t seem to run the other way.

Ouch.

  1. Welcome to socialism – communication is top down, individual does not matter. If that’s something new to a NDP member, maybe they should listen to us, the people-from-behind-the-iron-curtain?

  2. Give that young man ten years working in the private sector, and he’ll probably join the Conservatives!
    😉

  3. this would be two weeks of headline for CBCpravda if it were the CPC dumping some different coloured candidate. with a billion two in funding and a gaggle of reporters , someone should have noticed.

  4. Politics is often a place where the untalented go to be in show business. Jack Layton is the best example of this. He has no hope of ever having to be responsible for anything that comes out of his big fat mouth. He is merely there to be in front of cameras when he is not in a rest room in front of a mirror.
The man is a twit with an enormous ego and his MPs are his publicists.
The other place the untalented with ego go is to the MSM. They should all have kept up their piano lessons.
Arif Jinha has it right. Perhaps he will find a new place to be more useful.

  5. As much as I despise the NDP and their opportunistic and insincere leader Jack bin Layton, maybe we should be thankful their ideas don’t come from the bottom up.
Or have we forgotten about the N.Vancouver Island riding’s failed formal suggestion to the NDP’s national convention that they adopt the policy that “Canadian soldiers are behaving like terrorists in Afgan…”?
Grass roots?……more like weed roots in the NDP’s case.

  6. Good post, teddy. “The weedroots of the NDP”…I’ll have to remember that. I think I know some of them.

Hey! If the NDP can convince Canadian Union Membership that their interests are Socialism they must get some credit. (It’s like atheists representing the Pope)
Manpower is a “commodity” that should demand its rightful capitalistic share, money, working conditions, etc. The most successful Unions, rated by Members, are Teamsters, Autoworkers, and they consider themselves Capitalists. Was that a Polish Union that rebelled against the USSR
    What a concept!

  8. that ypung man’s ambition and intent are noble and admirable. To bad he wasn’t a better judge of character. If he was, he would never have joined a party led by Jack Layton/Chow.

  9. This is my riding, well served by Scott Reid,as both a Reform party and as a CPC MP. This riding has an interesting demographic. It serves as bedroom community for many public servants{40 minutes to Ottawa}, a retirement community {Perth} for the affluent, settled by many free- spirit types in the sixties, lots of ‘back to nature’ leanings and the fifth generation core. There is always noticeable support for the left leaning candidates and I think the NDP are ill advised to ignore this potential. Given that Mr. Reid has done a good job as an MP and of course the gun registry the NDP will not prevail however they could do what they do best…. buzz around and annoy people! Glad to see this little tempest has grabbed some attention. Trust me, no local paper or the Ottawa Citizen would ever print anything that put THE LEFT in a bad light. Looks like the NDP and/or Layton do not practice what they preach. Good for Mr.Jinha that he spoke up but that probably means another vote for Dion.

  10. Welcome to Canadian politics Mr. Jinha – I mean, really, what did you expect from Taliban Jack – he’s a communist…

  11. Chairman Layton hasn’t gotten over the excitement of winning a seat in Quebec with Mulcair. He’s on a very cocky high right now, thinks he’s King of the Hill in the Opposition ranks.
