Airbust: Why Does Schreiber Want His Money Back?

Dan Baril asks a pretty good question;

Mr. Schreiber can’t have it both ways. On the Fifth Estate, the $300K is reportedly in connection with Mr. Mulroney’s alleged role in greasing the Airbus wheels, yet in Mr. Schreiber’s most recent Affidavit it’s for greasing the wheels of light armoured vehicles and pasta processes. Which is it?
If the $300K is for Mr. Mulroney’s role in greasing Airbus, why is Mr. Schreiber asking for that money back in paragraph 41 of his Affidavit? Did the Airbus deal not proceed as planned, with some $20 Million in additional commission payouts?

Read it for yourself here.

  1. Unfortunately one of the key guys in all of this is no longer alive: Frank Moores – the alleged gobetween. I bet he would have a lot of answers. Anyone know what happened to his files/papers?

  2. Deport this slimy piece of doggy doo before his perversion of justice costs us taxpayers another 300 million like the stinking lieberal theives cost us in theft and commissions with the sponsership bull. 300.000, big deal so the grease got eaten move on. These pathetic lieberals and their worthless bum buds in the media have turned diddly squat into a bigger diddly squat. Diddler on line is having a hay day listening to himself and his phoney accent wail like a trouble making old mother that gets her 2 sons fighting then pulls her apron over face and cries stop. Please Steven just send this piss boy to the germans home now!

  3. Well, Well, Well – Schreiber says right in his affadavit that Mulroney had NOTHING TO DO with AIRBUS!! That is why he wanted Mulroney’s help to clear his name on this because some of his problems with Germany is related to Airbus.
Schreiber himself wants the Airbus issue investigated again so the REAL culprits are fingered. The Liberals and RCMP it would seem only investigated Mulroney – due to Liberal fingerpointing way back when.
So, if the media has this affadavit WHY do they still report that Mulroney is implicated in Airbus and that Schreiber’s NEW information on Airbus is somehow related to Mulroney.
Schreibers affadavit says the opposite. In fasct, Schreiber’s own statements prove that Mulroney was hired to do actual business consulting work for which he wasd paid a fee for services.
And, somehow this is being purposely misreported as a “kick back”.
Is Chretien getting “kickbacks” for his work with PowerCorp and China and who knows who else these days or are they fees? How about Paul Martin – he is already travelling the world “on paid for business” and he is still an MP. Are his fees a “kickback”?
It is pretty obvious why Harper and Mulroney would want an inquiry. This one affadavit by Schreiber lays the smear job on Mulroney to rest.
The Liberals and CBC and the others just know the general public won’t bother reading beyond the headlines or the sound bite.

  4. Seeing as no election is going to happen soon, the Liberals have either suffered from premature ej*ation or they are trying to keep a thief out of jail. So, as I said on my blog, deport the guy, we can always interview him from German jail, we have the technology.

  5. Mr. Priority and his band of theiving goons care not at all about the truth of the matter. Anything to make the Sheeple of Ontario the Easily Led, think that the Conservatives are as corrupt as the Liberals, so why not stick with the devils that we know.
    Nasty Beasts

  6. Can anyone explain to me why we (taxpayers) should be worried about another lawsuit from Mulroney? He asked for this inquiry … how do you sue someone for doing what you asked them to do?
Or is this stupid lawyer tricks.

  7. ah yes, canadians, we must be stupid to even entertain the thought of re hashing the ” airbus affair” i am no fan of brian m. but the rcmp, our nobel police force has already covered this ground . to hell with libs who want to get political traction. the gov. should tell them to grow up and then ship schreiber to germany.

  8. The liberal ship of fools has set sail.
They think that the inquiry will be all about whether the PM reads correspondence prevailing on him to interviene on the writers behalf at an extridition case? Guess again, Mulroney has provided quite a few hints who his lawyers will be calling as witnesses to the inquiry. As a matter of fact one lib MP is already been served notice of intent to sue for statements made on Duffy Live.
I strongly suggest the liberal party, the CBC Producers of the Fifth Estate, and Stevie Cameron find the best legal advice they can.
The liberals have provided Mr Mulroney a big stick to beat them with.

  9. It has already begun. Mulroney is suing Robert Thibault for $2 million. We know that Dion couldn’t comprehend such a document written in English but did any of his Liberal handlers actually read Schrieber’s affadavit? He says that the $300,000 was for future business dealings with Bear Head and the Pasta business. But the real reason behind the suit is to get Mulroney to clear his name by helping him expose the people behind the Airbus scandal.
Suppose you wanted to go back and throw the light on all the underhanded acivities and machinations of the Chretien government and their friends in the media and in high places, what better way to do it than by having the Liberals themselves call for the inquiry.

  10. Mulroney Sues:
And did you notice that the monies if the lawsuit succeeds goes to childrens hospitals charities, It could not get any better.
Like Macdonald said the other day don’t bring a Knife to a Gunfight.

  11. under the new Accountability Act, CBC is subject to Freedom Of Information revelations.
Oh to get the notes from the production meetings for that show.

  12. Shopping bags of cash.
    knock,knock
    anyone home
    chretien,martin,mulroney,clinton,gore,mckenna,dion,strong,.
Time this bunch, and more, got what they deserve in a former honest country.

  13. Something else.
The Liberal Party has moved outside of the rule of law and a civic government, down, down into the dregs of tribalism. You are defined as good or bad, not on the basis of the rule of law and your actual actions, but on the basis of your membership in – a tribe.
So, the Liberals have declared Mulroney Guilty of Kickbacks, not because he was found so in a court of law. No, it’s because of the unverified word of Schreiber, who has changed his previous testimony that the 300,000 was post-PM era and for work on business contracts – and now says it was two days before Mulroney stepped down as PM.
The Liberals aren’t interested in the truth. They declare him guilty.
AND, they declare as guilty, anyone who is a member of the same tribe.
So, a Canadian civil servant, who worked in Mulroney’s staff, and now works in Harper’s staff (and presumably worked in the civil service during Chretien/Martin’s era, or was this individual on unpaid leave?)…is now assumed to be guilty of nefarious agendas.
The Liberals inform us that civil service personnel who worked in Mulroney’s staff are now working in Harper’s staff. So? We are supposed to assume that these Canadians are guilty (of kickbacks from Schreiber?). And that, as well, Harper is guilty…of…kickbacks from Schreiber?
This is pure tribalism. This is Guilt by Association, by Membership in a Tribe. The Liberals have moved out of the Rule of Law, out of a Civic mode of governance and into pure tribalism.
You, a Canadian, are defined, not by your actions, but by your membership in a tribe.
The Liberals inform us that Marjory LeBreton, the Conservative Senator, ‘telephones Mulroney’. Guilt by association.
The Liberals inform us that Mulroney ‘contributed to Harper’s campaign to be leader’. Untrue; he supported Belinda Stronach. But, the agenda is the same. Guilt by association.
Remember – Mulroney hasn’t been proven guilty in a court of law. The Liberals are going by the changed statement of Schreiber. The Liberals have moved out of the rule of law.
And into pure tribalism. What kind of a political ideology are they supporting? What happened to the ideals of a civic governance. The rule of law? Why are the Liberals promoting the most primitive mode of social organization – Tribalism?

  14. More to muddy the waters and keep the heads spinning.
“Karlheinz Schreiber said in an interview from jail yesterday that he has new details to expose about his relationship with former prime minister Brian Mulroney if and when he is called to testify at the public inquiry announced this week to probe the 12-year-old Airbus affair.
While he would not disclose the nature of the information, the 77-year-old former intelligence officer and arms dealer said the scope of the inquest must look all the way back to 1979 for the truth to come out.
“The whole thing is much broader than only Airbus and it starts already at the beginning, in the early ’80s, when the situation was that Brian Mulroney intended to become the prime minister and needed help,” said Mr. Schreiber, who will be in court in Toronto today for another hearing to fight his extradition to Germany where he faces corruption charges.”

  15. There’s something else that we’re all overlooking in all this Liberal push to taint the Conservatives, bring them down to their level of corruption and sleaze, how do we look as a Country to the rest of the world?
Now we have a PM with a plan and with the best interests of the people, to bring us up to the standards of a great country, with the Liberals and Dippers playing pure gotcha politics.
They figure if they can bring the Conservatives down to their level they’ll win the hearts of ONTARIO, what more do they need?

  16. I wait with rapt anticipation of the consequences of the vindictive Get-Mullroney/Harper media putting any validity in a skank like Schrieber.

  17. It’s ridiculous to think that the $300,000 was tied to Airbus, since Schreiber was suing Mulroney for services NOT delivered — I think it’s pizza (goofy as it sounds) and some sort of arms plant (this would be the big one) and I think it ties to bigger fish than Mulroney. There may be Germans who don’t want KarlHeinz back in Germany. Payment was done in advance because Mulroney needed money — cash is a mystery, but may have been KarlHeinz’s idea. What I would like to see is KarlHeinz gets sent back to Germany and if anyone needs his testimony, there is always videoconferencing. It would be foolish not to use this technology in this context. What would be done if he were already in jail in Germany?

  18. liberals are running with this making accusations left & right that are unfounded & making these under the protection of the HOC(other then Thibeult on duffy)They are getting a great deal of air/print time out of this.
So therefore the liberals have succeeded in getting the cameras off of dion’s weakness’s, they are Buying time to rebuild. The liberals know that again Mulroney will be found innocent & at a cost of millions to the canadian taxpayer & do they care of course not.
Schreiber has pulled off his 11th hour sales pitch & all he is doing is buying time. He will be found guilty of perjury & then will be sentenced to serve time in Canada, anything to delay his extradition.
One more thing if there is a connection between liberals & schreiber this will not be proven as the liberals are very good a burying there soiled laundry as we found out in the Adscam inquiry.

  19. As Kinsella mentions on his blog a few days ago, the public perception is that PMBM is a crook. No amount of inquiry is going to change that. PMSH must be careful not to be seen as being partial in anyway. On the other hand PMJC and the sainted liberals are seen as being clean by everyone except partisan Conservatives so once again care must be taken not give the impression of a witch hunt. So far PMSH is doing very well even appointing an impartial ‘one of us’ (liberal) to set the terms of the inquiry. I use the term ‘one of us’ to describe the central Canadian mindset. Liberals are us and conservatives are them meaning the ‘provincials’. People to be looked down upon, uneducated country bumkins, people with outdated and dangerous points of view that would bring back the dark ages. In the mean time send Sheiber back to Germany after arranging a resiprocity agreement that when it is Shreiber’s turn to testify he will be brought back in handcuffs to testify. Above all it must be done in a way that looks best for the country and not in anyway helping PMBM.

  20. Today’s National Post contains a brief interview with Schreiber. When the journalist points out that some of Schreiber’s statements contradict each other, he acknowledges this fact. He states: “I know what you may think, it sounds unbelievable,” he said.
“This is the craziness of the story, and this is why everyone is so anxious to get me out of the country.”
I’m beginning to think that this guy belongs in the psych ward, not a detention center. Why we would waste tens of millions on an inquiry into this twit’s ramblings is beyond me.

  21. Meanwhile, while you are waiting, read the book on mulroneys other excursion,as the chief spokesman for the Archer Daniels Midland company in its trials with the CIA.
    small quote:
Mark E. Whitacre, the former Archer Daniels executive who served as a Government informant in the price-fixing investigation for more than two years. Archer Daniels dismissed Mr. Whitacre last year, accusing him of embezzling millions of dollars. Mr. Whitacre has said that the money was paid to him in an illegal corporate compensation scheme, an allegation the company denies.
Brian Mulroney, a former Prime Minister of Canada who serves on the company’s board, said Mr. Andreas, the vice chairman and formerly the heir-apparent, had been granted a leave of absence. The other executive, Terrance Wilson, the longtime head of its corn processing division, has retired, he said.
”They no longer work here,” Mr. Mulroney said today
    Oh woe,what follows me,haha

  22. The Liberals bestest friends still are Canada’s MAINSTREAM MEDIA!
All the talking heads ( and most leftist writers) keep harping about the damage being done to Stephen Harper because he talks to Mulroney, while trumpeting every word Schreiber utters from his jail cell.
Before too long MSM will have Schreiber as victim in this bloody mess.
Let’s never forget MSM have been enablers for the Libs for a decade or more, and are not about to dump their allegiance for leftist ideology at this point in the country’s history.
They (MSM)are more interested in smearing Harper than they are in anything else in this mess.

  23. speaking of msm, hwe about Fife on the CTV new last night, his closing comments were that Canadian’s when polled want the 2.1 million awarded to him in the previous assault on PMBM, this money never made it to Brian and was to cover the cost incurred in his defence….liberal backed smear job trying to tie it to Harper…i trust that this will all blow up in their faces and may Brian’s favorite charities benefit

  24. ET: re your comment on tribalism. I think it also explains why the Libs, no matter how hard they try to immolate themselves, cannot seem to fall below about 30% support. That to me is a damning indictment on Liberalism in Canada. Tribalism is the only thing that would seem to explain the continued, unwavering support they recieve.

  25. From the affitdavit (page 9, para 38), Schreiber wrote a letter to Mulroney stating:
…the public rhetoric regarding the sale of Airbus planes…and the conspiracy against me personally amounted to the largest political scandal in the history of Canada, and that Mr. Mulroney and I must expose the people behind the scandal around the Airbus affair…
Could it be the Liberals have walked unwittingly into an ambush?

  26. Kaplan laid out the “get Mulroney” stuff pretty well. What he wasnt able to get at fully was the political level. Unable to see the sanction and drive for this coming from Alan Rock, JC and thE PMO.
Unfounded allegations are why the government had to pay money, and to say that him getting 300,000 from KHS meant they would have rethought….oh my goodness, they were still wrong in the letter they sent to the Swiss which is what prompted the ultimate settlement.
Now if it turns out the $300,000 was a reward that is a different story, on a number of levels.
    1) It would be a major change from what has always been maintained by KHS
    2) It isnt what Mulroney was ever accused of
Going back to 1979, ridiculous, lets look at skyshops and mirabel then…..mind you there is a dark chapter around the deposing of Joe Clark but thats a whole other story.
How they get the terms of reference to cover Grand Mere Auberge I have no idea, unles they turn it into the financial arrangements around the PMO office in general and how PM’s should conduct affairs.
I guess it coms up if you pull on the string of politicization of the RCMP under JC. Example 1 being the chasing of Mulroney and example 2 being the persecution of the former head of the Federal Business Development Bank.
Then you can draw in Stevie Cameron and the Fifth Estate by the co-optation of the press by the police and the governement, the use of significant funds by the CBC, well in the 8 figure range meaning over 10 million to pursue the Mulroney story.
This is how it can unravel.

  27. Maybe I’m paranoid, but I smell a forced-election bid coming from Liberals. They must know that this could blow up in their faces eventually, but right now they’re enjoying a popularity bounce because they’ve smeared the Conservatives.
They must act now to take advantage before the truth comes out…also a way to clear Dion out of the way if it fails.

  28. If anyone really thinks we are going to get to the bottom of anything, let alone to the heart of the corruption that is the Liberal Party, I have several bridges for sale. More chance of the PPG unanimously supporting Harper.

  29. – The PM has forwarned the Opposition last week: “Watch what you wish for…”
    – Ian L. Macdonald (Very knowledgeable on the whole affair and our MSM mainman to get our cleanest info from) made Duffy check his pacemaker when he dropped his prediction bomb yesterday: “CBC, Libranos watch out, it’s payback time” (Not in those words but you get the jist of it)
    – Average Canuck?: (Excerpt from CTV):
When respondents were asked whether they supported examining the allegations, 67 per cent said yes and 22 per cent no.
Among Conservative members, 57 per cent wanted the matter investigated, while 32 per cent were against the idea. Liberals were slightly higher than the national average, with 74 per cent in support and 17 per cent against.
Harper has named David Lloyd Johnston, the president of the University of Waterloo, to probe the Mulroney-Schreiber affair and decide on a mandate for a full public inquiry.
The poll suggests a total of 51 per cent of Canadians believe Harper has done a “good job” of handling the matter:
Total good job: 51 per cent
Very good job: 8 per cent
    Good job: 43 per cent
    Poor job: 23 per cent
Very poor job: 8 per cent
Total poor job: 30 per cent
However, slightly more than half of respondents believe Harper may have covered up what he knew about the Schreiber’s claims:
    Total believe: 51 per cent
    Strongly believe: 17 per cent
    Somewhat believe: 34 per cent
    Somewhat disbelieve: 19 per cent
    Strongly disbelieve: 14 per cent
    Total disbelieve: 34 per cent
Donolo said the results show Harper has not fully succeeded in distancing himself from the affair, despite repeated statements he has never personally dealt with Schreiber. The prime minister has also said he never received a copy of a letter addressed to Mulroney that Schreiber sent him.
“It means he hasn’t got an infinite amount of rope on this issue,” said Donolo. “Canadians are willing to trust him but only so far on this issue.”
During question period Wednesday, Liberal Leader Stephane Dion asked if Harper would “commit to a full public inquiry that includes himself, his government and his minister of justice.”
Harper shot back that “sooner or later it will dawn on even the leader of the Liberal party that the events didn’t occur under this government.”
    – Already Peter Mansbridge showed signs of being nervous last night…IMO: The CBC is the ultimate prize of the whole affair: How much time and cash has been spent going after BM? Who in the PMO was pulling strings/also directing RCMP?
Also, CTV (Duffy) RedStar reporter was already starting to change the tune last night when the fact Liberals might be exposed: “Well, can we really trust Shreiber…”
I am also stocking up on beer and popcorn…This is going to fun.
(Forget the popcorn…I get “Scott Reid” stomach ache, change that to Doritos)

  30. ward – yes, Canadians who support the Liberals are often supporters ‘by tribe’ rather than by acknowledgment of policies. But that can be valid for any party.
My point about the Liberals is that they are making public statements, which include issues of policy, that are outside the rule of law.
Consider what the Liberals have done.
First, they accept that because X-person says that B-person did such and such- then this statement is true. No need for proof. That has moved them out of the Charter and Canadian law, which asserts ‘innocent until proven guilty’.
Get that? The Liberals, who define themselves as The Party of the Charter, have rejected section 11(g) “not to be found guilty on account of any act or omission, unless, at the time of the act or omission, it constituted an offence under Canadian or international law….
Notice that the Liberals have already assumed that Mulroney is guilty. They are taking the contradictory words of Schreiber, who has, in sworn testimony about this same issue, completely contradicted his testimony. The first time, the 300,000 was a private business deal after Mulroney left office. Now, it’s a deal made two days before Mulroney left office. Well?
They have then moved into a violation of Section 2d of the Charter – the right of association.
They are saying that anyone who has had any dealings with Mulroney, is ‘as guilty as Mulroney’ by virtue of association.
This is not only a violation of that clause in the Charter, but, a violation of the definition of a civic citizen. It defines you as a member of a tribe – the Mulroney Association Tribe.
So, any civil service employee is defined, by the Liberals, as Guilty.
Harper, who had nothing to do with these events of 15 years ago, is defined as guilty. On two counts. First, he’s a member of a political party that includes a similar term (Conservative Party of Canada vs Mulroney’s ‘Progressive Conservative Party’.
Then, he’s talked to Mulroney. That, to the Liberals, is a sign of tribal participation. Guilt by association.
Same with other people. Any and all, who have talked with Mulroney, are now guilty.
This is how the Liberal Party behaves. Rants and witch hunts, open blatant violation of the Charter of Rights. Tribal Guilt by Association
Assertions of Guilt without Proof. That’s the Liberal Party. Shame on them.

  31. Hmm. Read what Lawrence Martin says about Chretien and His Dirty Deals in today’s G&M.
The Liberals made a serious error in their violation of their sacred Charter and their attempt to smear Harper and the CPC by moving into Guilt Without Proof and Guilt by Association.

  32. Here’s the problem though, the public presumes Harper is quilty because he associated with Mulroney. The letter thing because Harper did not see it, therefore he’s invloved in a coverup.

  33. I agree with what you say ET, although I don’t think that all parties can be considered tribal. Case in point is the conservative movement in Canada. When the PC’s got too far away from where their conservative base thought they should be the base withdrew their support. (see the tory wipeout in 93)
However it does not seem to matter to their supporters what Liberals say or do, thier support remains solid.
To me that says Liberal supporters truly are tribal. Always support the tribe no matter what.

  34. ET:
Isn’t that ironic “Guilt By Association with an identifiable Group” was one of the of the hallmarks of National Socialism?
You don’t belong to the Liberal tribe, you belong to the Conservative tribe.
Therefore all Conservatives are guilty by virtue of tribal association!!
So I gather that the LIEberals contrary to section 2(d) of the Charter do not believe in freedom of association.
Thus we have the presumption of guilt rather than innocence, brought to you by the Charter party!
But then a $220 billion dollar federal budget to redirect to friends and family who belong to the tribe is what this is all about folks.
It is all about the money!!
    Cheers

  35. “Donolo said the results show Harper has not fully succeeded in distancing himself from the affair”
Peter Donolo, Partner of Strategic Counsel:
“From 1993 to 1999, Peter served as Director of Communications in the Prime Minister’s Office and chief communications strategist for Prime Minister Jean Chretien and his government. In that position, Peter established a strong record in developing successful communications strategies for the most important government initiatives and most contentious political and public policy issues of the past decade.”
    You mean that Donolo?

  36. PM Mulroney would clear all of this up in an instant if he would explain why he got the 300,000 in cash and as Norm Spector asks – reports whether he charged and remitted GST for the service rendered – if that’s what it was for. He took the cash – he didn’t refuse it – why?
Perhaps his desire to have a full enquiry is some sort of elaborate game of chicken…

  37. Schreibers extradition challenge denied, expected to try SOC now.
ET: re G&M’s lawrence martin iam not a subscriber so could not read, but did get the gist of it by the first few lines avail.
The stench from shawinigate worse then a 17th century sewer.

  38. Question: WHO is footing the bill for Karl Heinz Schreiber’s lawyers. The very very Liberally connected Greenspan brothers are the most expensive in Canada? He will need lawyers for fighting the fraud charges in Germany. He has lawyers suing Mulroney for not providing services for the $300,000 in consulting fees.
It has been reported that high level Liberals such as Marc Lalonde has paid hundreds of thousands for Karl’s bail.
Where is all of this money coming from?

  39. where do you think its coming from Lorraine?
the libs havent paid back the adscam money yet.
the leakage from the treasury penetrated deep into the lieberal payola structure. all the way back to the trudeaupians.

  40. Marc Lalonde and other pre-eminent Liberals are all members of the Trudeau Foundation which received $125 MILLION of taxpayer money to do WHAT???
Does the Accountability Act allow an audit of this cesspool of OUR money?

  41. The German prosecutors have declared that they would permit Schreiber to be interviewed by the Canadian courts, in Germany. That is, his extradition would not bar his ability to give testimony.
So- any claims being made by the Liberals, that Schreiber must NOT be extradited, are fallacious. I’m suggesting that the Liberals have made a deal with Schreiber. In return for their constant exhorting that Schreiber remain in Canada, Schreiber would write that letter that claimed that Mulroney’s 300,000 deal with him, was not made AFTER his stepping down as PM – as Schreiber first declared, under oath. But – was made two days BEFORE.
So, in return for Schreiber contradicting his original SWORN testimony, the Liberals will try to ensure that Schreiber remain in Canada. Liberal justice.
Schreiber is desperate, absolutely desperate, not to be tried in Germany.
Apparently, the Ontario Appeals Court has rejected his stay; he must be deported. Good for them.
BUT, BUT – apparently Schreiber’s lawyers are now going to appeal to the Supreme Court!! (Haven’t they done this before???)That would keep him here until the Supreme Court acts.
Can you imagine, the Germans have been trying to get him extradited for eight years from Canada. Hmm. Doesn’t that say something unpleasant about the Canadian justice system?
As for who is paying – he’s extremely wealthy. Oh, and Greenspan is also, to my understanding, Conrad Black’s lawyer. His office is right near my downtown Toronto condo; I sometimes see him in the local Second Cup.
Again, the Liberals have abandoned the basic tenets of the Charter of Rights, with their rejection of ‘innocent until proven guilty’ and their insistence on Guilt by Association.
Yes, Hans – these two tactics were indeed part of the operations of the National Socialist Realm of Germany.

  42. WELL,WELL,WELL
Johnston, 66, is described as well-connected, non-partisan and above reproach – despite intriguing ties to Mulroney.
Mulroney appointed him as the first chairman of the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy in 1988, where Johnston reported directly to the then-prime minister.
    Halifax news

  43. Well, that’s part of the truth. New reports (don’t have a link at the moment) say that Johnson has links to every living Prime Minister.

  44. The REAL story is what’s going on between Schreiber and powerful figures in Germany? Canadians are just being used — with the Liberals happy to exploit this sham for their own gain. Watch for charges against Schreiber in Germany to be quietly withdrawn. They are already being questioned.
Shreiber’s situation is that he can either be extradited to Germany where he will be turned into mincemeat — or he can find some sort of public arena where he can “spill the beans” on those who are looking to take him down. I believe that Schreiber has serious enemies in Germany and that these are the people he would expose if there is an opporunity for a pubic stage (there is, with the public enquiry). An obvious question to be asked in a forum investigating Air Bus is where the $20 million in commissions went and there are many international players who stand to be exposed. Once the extradition is no longer an issue, he has no reason to speak out. I do not believe that either the wrongdoing of the Liberals or Mulroney will come out in any definitive fashion — at least not from Schreiber. This is because Schreiber can’t afford to alienate either party here in Canada if the point is to avoid having to go back to Germany. We already know that Mulroney won’t be the victim on this one because a.) Shreiber has already exonerated him. b.) RCMP did not find anything after 2 years. 3.) Schreiber’s court case trying to get the $300,000 back is for failure to deliver on something which is NOT Airbus. This also explains Mulroney’s boldness in calling for an enquiry. He knows for sure that this is an unsubstantiated witch hunt. And quite frankly, it’s ludicrous to be calling for an enquiry because Mulroney “met” with Schreiber “two days” before leaving office. (What about cutting questionable golf course deals while in office? What about arranging untendered contracts while in office?) Liberal’s may gain some if they can use this to keep throwing suspicion on the Harper government. (This is undoubtedly their unscrupulous plan.) Unfortunately many people are easily duped. Personally, I am not pleased to be paying taxes to support this opportunity for free muck-raking by the Liberals. Their background dealings with Schreiber make it clear that they are using the Schreiber connection for political advantage. Harper needs to be REALLY smart and not make any missteps. The main danger for the Liberals is the possiblity of exposure from secondary players — rather than Schrieber himself. That could happen too — and Mulroney’s lawyers are likely to work very hard to see that it does.

  45. You see, well3, Canada has an extremely small population, and doing a google search for someone with a variety of required qualifications, which include:
very well educated so that he/she can critically evalute complex documents; legal background for the same reason; politically savvy so that he can see through political agendas; bilingual; old enough to be invulnerable to hatred…etc..
You must understand that you aren’t going to find many of these – in one person. And, since it’s a small population, you can be sure that all of the people in this select group, will know each other, will have had contacts with each other, shared responsibilities on committees and so on.
Now, if you want to move into the Liberal mode of thought, which is Guilt By Association (GAS) – by all means, stop all critical thinking ability and become a Liberal GAS.

  46. Links to every living prime minister?
    And thats a PLUS?
Canada ,in the sametime, has dropped from 5th to 15th on the corruption index!!!
Led by all these prime ministers from, where else?,QUEBEC.

  47. Schreiber received almost 20 million in commission from Airbus for Air Canada….I suspect he is quite able to pay for his lawyers….of course why he couldnt post bail i’ll never know.
That might have meant showing the swiss bank account number….where the money is likely stored.
BMXPM shouldnt have accepted 300,000 in cash. But I am finding it hard to believe it was for past services as opposed to future services.
Why would KHS pay him that small amount of money many years later? It doesnt make sense.
The question is where did the 20,000,000 go?
Ship him back to Germany and let him sing like a bird. I want the truth, and that includes the Liberal truth as well.
If Brian took a bribe, then off to jail he should go. If he didnt then lets drop the vendetta…and look at the cabal going after him
BTW check out Kinsella…..indicating that JC could win a lawsuit against Lawrence Martin based on his article today about Shawinigate.
I Look forward to that lawsuit. I think the shock that one of the Liberal songbirds would say anything bad was more of a shock. I mean you just cant buy good press people anymore 😉
