  1. The only thing that is certain at this point is:
    A) Chavez ecinimics will fail
    B) The killing fields will ensue when he blames this failure on nonbelievers disrupting productivity
    C) The left will continue to apologize for the failures of martial socialism.

  2. Yes, I’m looking forward to the EU banding together and sending a naval Task Force their to help depose him and restore order.
    Cough.

  3. “President for life”? The constitutional amendment means there’s no limit to the number of times he can run – as there is no limit in most countries, including ours. Is Harper “PM for life”?

  4. Right now its just a few thugs with handguns, but I can see this going to rows of soldiers with their AK 103s going full auto in the future, just like in tianamen square.

  5. Kate: Your posts can be cryptic occasionally, and I am a frequent reader.
“Can Naomi Campbell drive a cat?”. It took me a while to translate:
Naomi Campbell -> supports Hugo Chavez
Cat -> Bulldozer is a “Cat” -> Bulldozes dig mass graves -> original post on Chavez.
Regarding “Sean Penn, Naomi Campbell, Kevin Spacey, Danny Glover and Harry Belafonte”.
You can take the opinion that they are just so incredibly stupid that actually believe Chavez is more than just a power-monger and there is some substance to this peoples’ revolution. Or you can take the opinion that they are as evil as he is, and that they have no problem with protesters being shot and the mass graves that will be coming down the road.
    I take the latter opinion.

  6. If you guys want to give the Left a seemingly permanent scold point, then successfully advocate for the U.S. sending the troops into Venezuela. If such comes to pass, you’ll never hear the end of it – nor will your kids and grandkids.
[Trivia point: Allende at least allegedly acted extra-constitutionally before the U.S swung into action to the extent to which it did. As far as I know, Chavez has confined himself to changing the Venezuelan Constituion, but he hasn’t broken it. Point: the U.S had a pretext for intervention in Chile after that point, but it lacks that pretext with respect to present-day Venezuela. Leader Chavex may be bombastic, but he’s careful when it counts.]

LOL yeah. I heard some politicians talking about it yesterday. Terrible, just terrible, they said. I believe they decided to give Chavez a call to ask him what’s up. And if he doesn’t want to answer that’s fine as well, can always talk about other things. Or not, if he doesn’t want to talk at all.

I agree. They’re real progressives. Progressivism doesn’t truly care about the individual. It cares about the collective. When massacres are in the best interest of the collective, well, bring.them.on!
